Good start to purchase, terrible finish I had great experience with Mitch. Unfortunately, I had to deal with another Sale Rep, when making the final purchase. I was very upset when we went to the finance office and the agreed upon price had increased by $300. Very unprofessional, and it left me with a very negative feeling, after a very positive start to the purchase. Dealership needs to clean up their act! More

The BEST car buying experience I've EVER HAD!!! 5 stars is not high enough to rate the experience i had buying a car here. My salesman Tom Olsen was beyond exceptional and extremely knowledgeable about the vehicles i was looking at. I read a review from a dissatisfied customer that tom was helping, funny because my experience was the complete opposite. It sounds like to me from what i read that, that person woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day. That guy should keep in mind that salesmen are people to and i think that customer was taking toms comments the wrong way, so lighten up buddy. These guy's are here to help you and not bow down to you like your so freakin Emperor. Now on to the next phase of this review. There's not enough great things i could say about JIM URSO. This guy was absolutely fabulous to say the least, he went above and beyond to get this deal done. I give this man on his own 5 STARS!! He was extremely outgoing and a pleasure to work with. I've already recommend this dealership to a few of my close friends and when they're in market to purchase a car they'll definitely be going to Elgin Hyundai. Furthermore I'll be following suit again on my next car purchase guaranteed!!!!! My final rating of my overall experience is 10 stars!!!! Great job guy's!!! THANK YOU LEONARD SLY More

Charged me for services not performed I took my wife's 2005 Elantra in for service on 11/29/14 prior to a long road trip. I requested that the timing belt be changed, the belts checked, th I took my wife's 2005 Elantra in for service on 11/29/14 prior to a long road trip. I requested that the timing belt be changed, the belts checked, the oil changed, and the brakes be bled. The car hasn't been used for several months so I was concerned about it's condition. When I brought the car home it looked like one of the tires was low so I checked the pressure and found it to be 23 psi. As a matter of fact all of them were low so I checked with another tire gauge which confirmed the initial pressure readings. The Service Report said that they checked the pressures and found them all at 32 psi. Lie #1. I decided to look under the hood and noticed the alternator belt was split in half! They sold me an AC belt and said the rest were fine. Lie #2. Being really curious, I climbed under the car to see if the brake bleed screws showed signs of being opened (necessary for bleeding) and they weren't touched' still dirty, rusty, and no signs of brake fluid. When I questioned the service writer about it he said they bleed the system entirely through the master cylinder WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE! Lie #3. Hopefully the timing belt was changed as they charged me for. I wrote a nice email (complete with photos) to the Service Manager and the General Manager outlining the issues and they wanted me to bring the car back. I told them that I no longer trusted them and I just wanted them to reimburse me for the work that wasn't done. Unfortunately they didn't so as I told them I am informing others of the quality of service that they can expect at Elgin Hyundai. It's really too bad that you cant trust a dealer. More
Rude...couldn't pay me to drive a car off this lot! I inquired about a car online and received a prompt reply from Danielle. I scheduled a test drive for the next day and she said something about looking forward to meeting me, but when I arrived I was told it was her day off. Not a big deal. Tom Olsen was available, so I told him which car I was interested in. We found the vehicle on the lot, but it was parked in a second row, so packed in I couldn't even open the doors. While he was moving the other car, he gave me the key...I got in to find the car was dead. Again, not a huge deal...but I did schedule an appt, they could have at least made sure the car was going to start. While test driving, I asked a couple questions and his replies were a bit condescending. I wasn't thrilled with the car, it was really beat up. I asked about a different one, but then thought the mileage was a little high. He replied: "Well we don't put the miles on them, we just trade em and sell em."...at which point I had had enough of his attitude, said I was going to keep looking, and left. I found the service horrible...there's no excuse for being rude and condescending to a potential customer. More
