The BEST car buying experience I've EVER HAD!!! 5 stars is not high enough to rate the experience i had buying a car here. My salesman Tom Olsen was beyond exceptional and extremely knowledgeable about the vehicles i was looking at. I read a review from a dissatisfied customer that tom was helping, funny because my experience was the complete opposite. It sounds like to me from what i read that, that person woke up on the wrong side of the bed that day. That guy should keep in mind that salesmen are people to and i think that customer was taking toms comments the wrong way, so lighten up buddy. These guy's are here to help you and not bow down to you like your so freakin Emperor. Now on to the next phase of this review. There's not enough great things i could say about JIM URSO. This guy was absolutely fabulous to say the least, he went above and beyond to get this deal done. I give this man on his own 5 STARS!! He was extremely outgoing and a pleasure to work with. I've already recommend this dealership to a few of my close friends and when they're in market to purchase a car they'll definitely be going to Elgin Hyundai. Furthermore I'll be following suit again on my next car purchase guaranteed!!!!! My final rating of my overall experience is 10 stars!!!! Great job guy's!!! THANK YOU LEONARD SLY More

Charged me for services not performed I took my wife's 2005 Elantra in for service on 11/29/14 prior to a long road trip. I requested that the timing belt be changed, the belts checked, th I took my wife's 2005 Elantra in for service on 11/29/14 prior to a long road trip. I requested that the timing belt be changed, the belts checked, the oil changed, and the brakes be bled. The car hasn't been used for several months so I was concerned about it's condition. When I brought the car home it looked like one of the tires was low so I checked the pressure and found it to be 23 psi. As a matter of fact all of them were low so I checked with another tire gauge which confirmed the initial pressure readings. The Service Report said that they checked the pressures and found them all at 32 psi. Lie #1. I decided to look under the hood and noticed the alternator belt was split in half! They sold me an AC belt and said the rest were fine. Lie #2. Being really curious, I climbed under the car to see if the brake bleed screws showed signs of being opened (necessary for bleeding) and they weren't touched' still dirty, rusty, and no signs of brake fluid. When I questioned the service writer about it he said they bleed the system entirely through the master cylinder WHICH IS IMPOSSIBLE! Lie #3. Hopefully the timing belt was changed as they charged me for. I wrote a nice email (complete with photos) to the Service Manager and the General Manager outlining the issues and they wanted me to bring the car back. I told them that I no longer trusted them and I just wanted them to reimburse me for the work that wasn't done. Unfortunately they didn't so as I told them I am informing others of the quality of service that they can expect at Elgin Hyundai. It's really too bad that you cant trust a dealer. More
Rude...couldn't pay me to drive a car off this lot! I inquired about a car online and received a prompt reply from Danielle. I scheduled a test drive for the next day and she said something about looking forward to meeting me, but when I arrived I was told it was her day off. Not a big deal. Tom Olsen was available, so I told him which car I was interested in. We found the vehicle on the lot, but it was parked in a second row, so packed in I couldn't even open the doors. While he was moving the other car, he gave me the key...I got in to find the car was dead. Again, not a huge deal...but I did schedule an appt, they could have at least made sure the car was going to start. While test driving, I asked a couple questions and his replies were a bit condescending. I wasn't thrilled with the car, it was really beat up. I asked about a different one, but then thought the mileage was a little high. He replied: "Well we don't put the miles on them, we just trade em and sell em."...at which point I had had enough of his attitude, said I was going to keep looking, and left. I found the service horrible...there's no excuse for being rude and condescending to a potential customer. More

I received a call one day later from Rob indicating that Chris Mandelke wanted to talk to me regarding possibly trading in my vehicle. I did my homework on my vehicle shortly after the call and figured that because of the car's value, that it wouldn't be financially feasable for me to trade in the vehicle. I still decided to go ahead and listen to what Chris had to offer. I was surprised that he gave me a very generous offer on the trade in. He explained that since they knew my vehicle's history ( since it had been serviced there) and the cost of transporting a used vehicle that they would have purchased from auction, that he could afford to make a very good offer on my trade-in. Chris and Igor were very professional salespeople who clearly explained everything in the negotiation process. It was the easiest trade-in that I have ever made because of their professionalism. Everything went so smoothly from oil-change to trade-in. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend or refer Elgin Hyundai to anyone purchasing a new or used vehicle. I found the car online so I didn't do any other browsing on the lot. I was greeted warmly by Matt upon entering the office and I worked with him the rest of the way. Matt was a very straight-forward guy. He didn't try to push me to make a decision but patiently answered all my questions and gave me time and space to think through my decision. We reviewed the Carfax and any notes the guys had during the inspection. He went the extra mile to dig up any information they had on the previous owner and any work the car might need. They also let me take the car to my mechanic who strongly endorsed the purchase. The car was very clean inside and out even though it was a 2005. It needed the timing belt done (a repair they don't handle at their dealership) and was flexible with the price as a result. I didn't interact with the manager or other salesmen, but I can definitely recommend working with Matt if you're interested in a car at this dealership. I feel I got a good, reliable car at a good price. More

I have made several car purchases in the past, so I dreaded what my day had in store. I knew I needed to go to Elgin Hyundai, and I even created a profile on their website and saved several cars I was interested in. Elgin Hyundai's car prices on Cars.com, and their dealer website, is what brought me into their dealership to test drive several cars. They had many to choose from, and I liked all the cars I test drove. It was Lou Mocnik's sales professionalism, manners, and expertise that made me want to buy from Elgin Hyundai. I wasn't quite sure what I was looking for to fit all the diversity and needs of my life. Lou helped me sort it all out and select the best car for me with the best value. I was impressed with how Lou listened to me, how he advised based on my needs, and how he didn't make me feel pressured. I was then introduced to the Sales Manager, Casey Dobczyk. Casey is very passionate and knowledgeable about car financing. It took a little time, but Casey really impressed me with how he was working diligently with me and for me to get the best finance deal to fit my needs. Casey didn’t stop until I, the customer, was happy! Next I met John Baker, the Finance Manager. John was very efficient and pleasant. He walked me through all the paperwork and answered all my questions. He also made me feel comfortable signing all the papers necessary. In the end, Elgin Hyundai impressed me with their teamwork, honesty, and how they made my car buying experience a positive one! I will definitely look at Elgin Hyundai first when I need to buy another car in the future. More
