Great Salesperson, Terrible Finance Experience I needed to replace a car and knew exactly what I wanted. I got the TrueCar certificate from this dealer and another, and went here because they were I needed to replace a car and knew exactly what I wanted. I got the TrueCar certificate from this dealer and another, and went here because they were about 20 miles closer and they did not list a "dealer appearance package" as an added cost. I came in with the stock number of the car I wanted. I had already test driven the car and needed no explanations on the vehicle. I gave the stock number to Mike, he got the car, and then I saw that it had pinstripes and door guards that were not shown online in the pictures and that I certainly did not want. He was respectful when I asked to have them removed and understood my reasoning. Mike was a great sales person through my entire process; He was friendly, respectful, and didn't try to upsell me on anything. But again, I came in knowing exactly which car I wanted. There was confusion when I presented the TrueCar certificate from the other dealer that showed a guaranteed savings of about $1000 more than Elgion Hyundai's. They took a look at it and I was told it was probably a bunch of incentives that I might not qualified for. That isn't how TrueCar works and even then, the incentives are listed on a separate line. Finance was terrible. Everything was rushed, many of the forms were only partially filled out, and when they offer a service contract they don't have the actual contract to show you. You just have to take their word for it. There was also an additional charge for something I was initially told was included, VIN Etching. I noticed this when I got home and could actually read the bill of sale before it was taken away and shoved in an envelope. I called and I was told "well the sales person was mistaken". In a later phone call I brought this up again as it was never mentioned during finance and it felt like something that I was not given a choice in and the response was "well it basically is". The honest truth is that I know not all car dealerships are like this. I bought another Hyundai at a different dealership just over a year prior. At this dealership everything was fully filled out and they walked me through every detail of the cost, line by line before they asked me to sign anything. Even the service contract they offered me had full documentation: the entire contract describing the coverage completely. There was one issue at this other dealership where someone misspoke about a part of the sale. You know what they did regarding it? The apologized and made it right. Going back to Elgin Hyundai: Now I'm trying to get issues resolved and get the feeling that this is going to drag on. If everything went as well as my sales experience with Mike, this would have been awesome. Instead I'm left wondering if I should have driven the extra 20 miles. More

I had an issue with my new car, and the customer service manager picked me up in her own car and drove me 45 minutes to the dealer to get a loaner. If that's not superb customer service, then I don't know what is. Dave Taub was a very genuine salesman that worked tirelessly to get the price down to what I could afford.
