To start I purchased a used 2017 vehicle which was advertised online as certified and told to me was certified as they also added a certification fee to which I later found out was completely untrue, they are saying the certification fee added was for the 100k powertrain warranty(we were told this warranty carried over to us not that we purchased it). I also had to bring it to the nearest dealership to check it over since something felt off while driving and I was shocked to hear that just 3 weeks after having the vehicle it was unsafe to drive without a repair. Then come to find after trying to figure this out with the manager that the car had a newly manufactured engine replacement which was never once reported or disclosed to us in any way both after we asked what things were done to the car in terms of service and it was also never listed on the Carfax. A week after purchase we had to bring it back for a detailing appt, they had the car for 6 hours and it still was dirty in several areas and not properly detailed and once we returned home discovered they didn't put the mats back into the car that I had purchased myself. It took weeks to get this resolved and have them shipped to me as I live nowhere near the dealership but not before the salesman called and basically told me I needed to give a 5 star google review for him and his manager so he could ship my own mats back to me! All I've asked is the certification fee to be refunded to me as well as the 100k powertrain warranty to be honored as we were lied to and told it was something that we had and how the car was clearly not certified. The manager has offered to just take the car back and try to give me another and once I provided proof of what we were lied to about said he could no longer help me further to make this right. More

We were lured in by the deceptive price listed for a vehicle, confirmed to be on the lot. Apron arrival, less the 2 hours later…the car was sold. BUT WAIT…with a deposit they would hold the one in transit. The one in transit was not the color we wanted so we declined. BUT WAIT… with a deposit we could reserve one set to arrive in 2-3 weeks. Of course this came with the “must buy” package full of junk we did not need/want. Oil changes, helium refills, pin stripes, door guards. Once again, we declined. BUT WAIT… we could eliminate the items we did not want but would have to buy the Hyundai standard package that comes on every Hyundai. Hmmmm… if it’s standard on every Hyundai- why do we need to buy it. By now we are amusing ourselves by playing the “scam the scammer” game. We played with sales for roughly four hours making them shows us more vehicles/get more quotes/negotiate different items until we finally found the one we wanted. BUT WAIT… we forgot our credit card. Print out the details and as soon as we get home, we’ll call you for the deposit. That was several weeks ago, we never called them and they never called us. They may have called the number we provided but am pretty sure when they asked for Sam Johnson, they were told they reached the wrong number. Moral of this story… we wouldn’t have scammed you had you not tried to scam us. What you saw was a couple of old people, not a couple of smart people! Crooks they stated they would sell for MSRP they then added $3400 in add in that they would not remove even though the car had not arrived. Irresponsible, no coordination between departments, they called me twice for inspection but vehicle was not ready. They posted acura mdx for sale but actually it not available. I can’t believe Bob Loquercio would employ a General Manager like Mike Meah for over six years! They mustn’t care any more about customer service than he does. Mike is an arrogant, loud mouth ( talked over my wife on the phone and told her “ you listen to me” and then hung up on her when he was done ranting at her) . Mike has a history of speaking to women as that is way he has spoken to my niece who bought a car from Elgin Hyundai! Sad to say the car spun a main bearing after in burned all the oil after she only drove it 2000 miles. After a month she has had no restitution!!! We have a video recording of Mike Meah ranting at her. Telling her he “won’t do anything on her car until she took down the bad review she gave him”! Arrogance at its finest! Reviews are there FOR A REASON! I would never buy a car from any of their dealerships as there are many great car dealerships to work with in Naperville and North Aurora, and Tinley Park. More
