Then has the audacity to have an attitude when “his employees or system” is bad mouthed. Nothing but sleazy. If you do buy from here, be prepared to call and call.. leave voicemails, to have those calls never returned by his staff. Pay attention to your paperwork, go through with a fine tooth comb. Giving a one star here is generous, zero would be acceptable. More
I own a 2018 Hyundai Tucson and have been taking it to Elgin Hyundai for service ever since I bought it brand new. Part of the reason is because of the warranty, the reasonable price and the good service I have received over the last 24 years. My most recent experience is no exception. Starting in January of 2023, I was experiencing some issues with my powertrain… issues that are covered under warranty. During the time I first noticed the issues, I worked with one of the service representatives from Elgin Hyundai named Jorge Quevedo. No customer likes experiencing issues with their cars, much less a warranty issue near the expiration date of the warranty. However, over the last 20 months, Jorge assisted me through the process of rectifying the issue from beginning to end. The process was sometimes frustrating because rules are rules and protocols are protocols. However, Jorge was patient, honest with me and saw me through the entire period - even during my communications with Hyundai corporate office to get the work completed. I have never once felt alone, mal-informed, or rushed and it is because of service reps like Jorge that keep people like me loyal customers to brands that value good customer service, honesty and follow through. Kudos to Jorge, kudos to Hyundai for honoring their warranty, and thank you all for a pleasant customer experience for the last 24 years. My next new car will most definitely be - you guessed it - a Hyundai because of experiences like this. More
I bought a 2025 Tucson Limited through the Costco Auto Buying Program. The price was preset. The only thing that had to be negotiated was my trade in. They gave me the best price of the other 3 dealerships that I had been talking to. They had to locate and do a dealer trade for the exterior and interior colors of the vehicle , as they did not have the color that I wanted. The only vehicle that they could locate was an all wheel drive. They sold it to me for the same price that they quoted me for a front wheel drive Tucson. The entire buying process was the easiest and fastest of all my previous experiences. Between the price and total buying process, Elgin Hyundai has made me a customer for life! More

I went to change the oil and it took me almost 3 hours to change it. Never again in my life will I buy a Hyundai. Only Toyota. More
I HAVE A 2023 HYUNDAI TUSCON. RECENTLY IT START DISPLAYING A "UNEVEN ROAD SERVICE WARNING" ON THE DASH IN PLACE OF THE TACHOMETER. CALLED DEALER SAID IT WAS A SYSTEM UPDATE NEEDED RECENTLY IT START DISPLAYING A "UNEVEN ROAD SERVICE WARNING" ON THE DASH IN PLACE OF THE TACHOMETER. CALLED DEALER SAID IT WAS A SYSTEM UPDATE NEEDED. WAS TOLD IS WOULD BE 20$ AND TAKE 12 HOURS TO COMPLETE. CALLED ANOTHER DEALER SLIGHTLY FARTHER. MADE AN APPOINTMENT THURSDAY MORNING AND THEY SAID 1 HOUR AND WILL COST NOTHING. YOU NEED A BETTER SERVICE MANAGER THATS WHY I GAVE IT THIS RATING. More
Typical “big city dealership” with their add-ons and misleading pricing. Was interested in a new vehicle and inquired if it was available. Was told it was, and I confirmed the pricing on the website misleading pricing. Was interested in a new vehicle and inquired if it was available. Was told it was, and I confirmed the pricing on the website was active, since it showed a discount. Manager called me back and said they’d hold the vehicle so I could come see it as I’m 3 hours away. We discussed my trade and he assured me “we would work something out” on pricing. Now I’m not an expert but I did shop other dealerships for this exact vehicle and knew what I wanted to pay based on other offers. I got there and test drove the vehicle and all was good until I saw the pricing. Their advertised price of $3000 off of msrp “didn’t apply to this vehicle since it’s in high demand.” So already the price was higher than other offers. Then they added $1300 for their Elgin package of stuff I didn’t want, $299 for VIN etching which everyone knows is worthless, and another $2000 for some extended warranty I also didn’t want. For the EXACT SAME VEHICLE I was quoted $5000 more at this dealership than any other. I was told they had 3 other people in line to buy it at their pricing, so I politely declined and walked out after asking them to match the other written offer I showed the manager. The salesman followed me to the parking lot and asked if there was anything else we could do. I compromised coming up more than 50% of the difference between my offer and theirs, and they barely would budge. So I took off, and will be buying my vehicle somewhere else!! Again, LOOK HARD AT YOUR PAPERWORK and see all of those fees and add-ons tacked onto their price, realize this dealership is all about making $. Was even called an hour after I left asking if there was anything else they could do to earn my business, and I told them that I already made my offer to them. Never got another call, so I guess they realized I wasn’t falling for their game. Just another typical big sales dealership. Buyer beware! More
UNWANTED ADD-ON DEALERSHIP. Their website shows the price of their "Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned" vehicles. At the bottom is says said “not including tax, title, and doc fee of $ Their website shows the price of their "Hyundai Certified Pre-Owned" vehicles. At the bottom is says said “not including tax, title, and doc fee of $358.03”. That's pretty standard. I called ahead to make sure Certified Pre-owned meant what it said and that it was included. They confirmed it was. Also asked if there was any added warranties/expenses; as some shady dealerships have a tendency to try to legally steal, using that method. The assured me that the price was the price, plus the 3 standard items. (Tax, title/license, doc fee). Tried to do a deal...Purchase agreement came back with this car at its listed price, a $2K upcharge for some paint protectant thing, and something like $2800 for the Hyundai Certified Warranty that was "included". Final price was nearly $8000 more than the list price.... On a three year old car with 55k miles. Not only did I drive 3 hours one way, but they also wasted several hours of our lives holding us there. I don't understand how they sell a single used vehicle, using these tactics. More

We were forced into purchasing additional optional services like an interior and exterior protection plan that we were told was optional until we were ready to buy. Then they said well we add that to every car when we receive it here at the dealership so you have to pay for it. We were originally told it was $2000.00. they brought it down to $1300.00 but we later found out that it is only worth about $500.00 to have done outside the dealerships. This was a total rip off a bait and switch trick. I would never recommend purchasing a car from this dealership. Our sales guy was excellent. But as soon as the managers got involved with the sales price of the car it was nothing but lies, tricks and deceptive practices. Very Disappointed! Then to read the dealerships reply to others who had similar experiences it just made me even angrier. I normally do not fill out these reviews, but I felt complied to do so in this case to hopefully help other deal with the remorse I have for making such an important purchase from Elgin Hyundai. More
Jeff Taylor was great he wasn't pushy and allowed me to take my time. He answered all the questions I had about the car I wanted and showed me the cars that had exactly what I needed.
