Car was sold out from under me even with deposit down I am not one to usually leave bad reviews but I don't want what just happened to me to happened to anyone else so in light of that, here it goes: I am not one to usually leave bad reviews but I don't want what just happened to me to happened to anyone else so in light of that, here it goes: I met with Kristen Montijo yesterday to look at a used Toyota Rav4. Kristen was great and very friendly and I enjoyed working with her very much. We took the car for a test drive and then sat down to talk about numbers. I wasn't quite ready to go home with the car that night, so I asked Kristen if there was anything we could do to put a "hold" on the car for 24 hours. She ensured me that this was something they could do and that they do all the time. Kristen told me that if I put a $500 deposit down, it would prevent the car from being sold to anyone over the next 24 hours. I paid the $500 and we negotiated the price of the vehicle. We agreed that I would return the next day to either purchase or pass on the car. I had 1 other vehicle at a different dealership I was going to check out and then I would make the decision. So I go home, very excited about the possibility of getting this new car, feeling good knowing that it wouldn't be sold out from under me in the next 24 hours. I had just had an apartment sold out from under me the day prior (which I told Kristen) so knowing the deposit would prevent that from happening again gave me much peace of mind. Our appointment with Kristen was on July 25, 2017 at 7:15pm. On July 26, 2017 at 2:33pm I received a text from Kristen stating "Hey there... sorry to report but earlier this morning someone came in with a better offer on the RAV4 an my manager took the deal. So sorry. I'm not at work at the moment I can have someone refund your deposit." ........... To say I am furious is an understatement. I called the dealership immediately where I spoke with GM Benjamin Jacobs. I told Ben what happened and he told me that the deposit only secures the price for 24 hours it does not prevent the car from being sold. This was the exact opposite of what Kristen ASSURED me on multiple occasions. The whole point of me putting a deposit down was to ensure the car wouldn't be sold the next day. While I do not believe it was Kristen's intention to lie to me, she did regardless. Multiple times. Ben then tried to “make good” by offering to sell me other cars that were also not in my price range nor were they the car I wanted and had put a deposit down on. I then called Kristen to get her side of the story and while she was very apologetic, did little to help me understand how this possibly could have happened. She stated that she received a text from her manager that morning asking her where the keys were for the Toyota Rav4 (the car I was going to buy) were. At this point, Kristen should have either 1 - told the manager it was on hold for her client (me) or 2 - called me immediately to let me know what was going on. I was so excited to get this car, we had a contract drawn up, I had a deposit down, everything was going very smoothly and yet here I am, writing a scathing review because I was lied to. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone. As someone who doesn't a big budget to spend on a car, I was so excited to finally find a car that met my criteria and that I could afford. I feel completely taken advantage and am very upset. We will be seeking legal action. More
Not going back! I was looking for a new 2017 TLX in black color. Ed Napleton Acura responded with price quote that was marginally better than the rest. I exchanged email and phone calls with them and inquired about the vehicle. They insisted that I visit their showroom to discussed financial details. Out of respect, that their quote was lowest than the next best one, I visited them to negotiate the deal. Upon reaching the showroom, I was shown the car which had around 4,500+ miles on it. And the definition that was given to me on the spot was that any car with less than 6,000 miles is considered new in IL. This information about the vehicle was deliberately with held during email and telephonic conversation. The vehicle was priced $150 less than a similar zero meter model/trim at another dealer. Upon my protest, Ed Napleton tried to sell me another vehicle. By that time I had lost all faith in them. Me and my wife got off early from work, took a cab in peak hours and it took us an hour to reach Ed Napleton dealership. The sad part is most of the dealerships would say anything to bring you inside their showroom. The same is true for Ed Napleton too. Those who wants to buy a new car with the Ed Napleton team must request every detail in written preferably via email before finalizing a visit. They must also ask for the details about the vehicle which they are going to inspect not just the trim/model info. This will save your time and money. The sales staff were friendly for that I am checking one star. All else was crap. More

My experience was pleasant. Staff is knowledgable of product My salesperson was Bob Westcott. He was very helpful and did a great job getting me the car I wanted. I have some credit issues but he worked hard to find programs and finance companies that were willing to work with me. Mr Westcott was punctual and I was not there for hours waiting to buy my car. The wait time I did have was made comfortable by my salesman. He took me out to show me how to work everything in my car and set there and went the extra mile of asking me my favorites and setting them for me. He went out of his way to make sure I pulled off totally comfortable with my purchase. He also followed up with me the next day to make sure everything was okay and to thank me again for purchasing. My finance person was Mr Shotie and he was quick and made all the paper signing as efficient as painless as possible. I walked in and out in record time as a very satisfied customer More

I have on numerous occasions been lied to and cheated at this dealership. On my most recent trip to the dealership I asked for a replacement of my damaged car battery, a problem I took into service 1.5 months after purchasing the vehicle. I was told by the general manager, Andrew Tomlinson, there was nothing he could do. In his words "there are many cars I sell that come in with problems within the first 2 months. Once it's off the lot it's your problem." I was appalled to hear a manager speak like this. I decided I would leave and take my business elsewhere. Prior to leaving, the service advisor, Dave Baggot, told me I couldn't take my car unless I paid $150 for the time it took the mechanic to test my battery. Also was lied to when I was told I would be given 3 complementary oil changes. I went in for my second oil change, they told me I only get 2 and 1 of the complementary changes is used when you buy the car. Later that day I took my car to Infiniti where I received exceptional service at a significantly lower rate. I notice the difference in service from the second I walk in. DO NOT GO TO ED NAPELTON! Oil change and tire totation New service mgmt at Ed Napleton Acura in Elmhurst...in summary they refused to do oil change...stated can only do synthetic oil for acura car...stated New service mgmt at Ed Napleton Acura in Elmhurst...in summary they refused to do oil change...stated can only do synthetic oil for acura car...stated mfg requirement. Long story short, service mgr Shanti was so rude and insistent on only providing A1 service and REFUSED to service my car. Have been using this dealership service for four years and will never go back. More

Moe was very honest and was willing to work with us to find a car we were comfortable with buying. He helped us understand how things get approved and that helped us make our choice. Luckily we saw the Amanti and they fixed it up real nice for us to take home. Our visit was a mix of luck and professionalism since the exact car we wanted was there and the process was made easy for us because they really knew their stuff! More
