I am very disappointed with ECVW warranty. Recently the overhead console in my 2020 Tiguan just fell out of its mount. I took it to East Coast VW to have it repaired. Mr. David, in the Service Department, overhead console in my 2020 Tiguan just fell out of its mount. I took it to East Coast VW to have it repaired. Mr. David, in the Service Department, told me that the screw mounts were broken and therefore would not be covered under warranty. I, a retired mechanic, removed the part and found that all four of the mount holes were broken. I also saw that the screws were over tightened during installation of the part. This was evidenced by the center of the plastic mount holes being thinned and depressed. This is/was the result of the screws being over torqued. when the part was replaced, so I figured that my car would not be an isolated incident. I was correct. I knew I had never pulled or jarred the part. I plainly but respectfully relayed that fact to the service tech. Anyway, I have purchased two new cars there as well as several used cars, I had my services and repairs done there including tires. I even told several friends and family members abut them because I felt that they were honest and treated me fairly. During my years of being a loyal customer, I have never tried to short change or cheat them out of a single dime and I am not a pauper. I don't worry much about money. I later found out via the internet that my problem is/was not isolated. As a matter of fact, several of the broken parts are onsite on the net for the same reasons. The parts department of ECVW will start stocking that part, assumably because of the same situation happening to other owners. Anyway, I can understand their stance but to make such a decision without investigation a conversation, or even a question sets badly with me. I feel as if I ma just considered a liar and a cheat. They had no reason to assume that I would break the part and try to rook them into paying for it. Maybe it's their system bt they seem to be more concerned about the small cost of repairing the vehicle as the warranty says they will, than returning some of the loyalty I had showed to them. I probably will nit be a ECVW customer any longer. Not because of service but because of what I view as disloyalty. More
I was greeted by Ed Turner immediately upon arrival. He was very knowledgeable about what was on the lot and pricing. Ed Turner made me feel at ease when test driving the vehicle and was very patient with was very knowledgeable about what was on the lot and pricing. Ed Turner made me feel at ease when test driving the vehicle and was very patient with all of my questions. Ed even drove me to my home to pick up the second vehicle I was trading as I was alone and did not have someone to drive the second car. I cannot thank Ed enough for making the transactions seamless. I moved my family across the US from Washington State to Myrtle Beach last month with a mission to settle down and continue my job. The day after we moved here, I got laid-off from my West Coast Oil Barge job due to a declining market of oil due to the Covid Pandemic. Coupled with the lay-off, my car had a major engine malfunction that requires a complete overhaul costing several thousand dollars. My primary job is a Chef, and with a saturated tourism market already established in the local area, Chef jobs (let alone cook jobs) are hard to come by. So as a primary income, I turned to Gig Work. Although this line of work is lucrative, being down a vehicle, makes the income seem out of reach. So after coordinating bills and streamlining whatever money we made, we were still coming up short. We NEEDED two vehicles to make this work. I scoured many car lots online and read, literally, hundreds of reviews of all of the major automobile dealerships in the greater Myrtle Beach area. I narrowed my final selection to East Coast Volkswagen. At my wits end and already assuming we wouldn’t get another vehicle, the team at that store proved me incredibly wrong. As soon as we drove up, your Vietnam War Veteran and Hero, Terry Heyne, greeted us and made us feel at ease. We laid out our whole situation to him and stated, “well, all we can do is try! But, this place has a habit of making miracles happen!” After filling out some paperwork and swapping war stories (my wife and I are both retired Air Force), we sat and waited. During that time, Robert Wilkens came over and asked us various financial questions and to xxxxx our situation. According to Terry, Robert was “doing his magic!” After a few hours (at closing time to be precise), Robert came out and said, “not only did I get you approved, but I got you approved for a 2021 Jetta if you want!” My heart literally skipped a beat! Terry and Robert are both masters of their craft and really showed this old Vet that there is still honest and hard working individuals that still put the needs of the customer first! We presented that team a hard situation and they did indeed perform a miracle for us! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping us during this precarious time! Much love and many thanks, Dale and Tia Wilson More
