I first contacted Duncan looking for a used Honda Accord to replace a Hyundai Sonata I purchased two years ago. Julie Felix answered my e-mail in less than 30 minutes and provided a very fair quote on a us to replace a Hyundai Sonata I purchased two years ago. Julie Felix answered my e-mail in less than 30 minutes and provided a very fair quote on a used car. In addition, she also shared American Honda Finance's interest rates on new Accords. The interest rates allowed me to look at new Accords instead of purchasing used. Very little negotiating was required because Julie was upfront with the costs, incentives, and price breakdown. Unlike my past car buying experiences I felt that everything was explained well, was up front, and was very fair. Everything was set before I arrived at the dealership and Julie greeted me with a big smile and the car pulled up near the showroom. She spent a significant amount of time going over the car (my first Honda) and explaining the multitude of features of the 2014 Honda Accord Sport. She programmed all my favorite radio stations, paired my cell phone with the Bluetooth and adjusted several other settings. I was able to close the deal within an hour and be on my way. I appreciate the upfront way that Julie conducts car business and I feel I was treated fairly from the start. She worked, along with Chris Dudash, to make sure I found the best interest rate and terms for my purchase. Thank you Duncan's Hokie Honda…I will definitely return when I need to replace my Accord and will send family and friends your way. More
We had searched for a couple weeks for a 'replacement' for our Accord that had accumulated 209k miles. The one we found on Duncan's page was the most nicely-priced of any similar vehicles. D 'replacement' for our Accord that had accumulated 209k miles. The one we found on Duncan's page was the most nicely-priced of any similar vehicles. Dealing with the salesman, Nathan, and the manager, Chris, was quite pleasant, and our buying process took less time than any in the past. We got a Honda Certified vehicle for basically the same price as vehicles that were 2 years older, or the same age that had no Certification. Chris spent an appreciable amount of time speaking with us to help us understand where he was coming from when we questioned the fact that there was little effort to work with us on the final price of the car, and the very low offer on our potential trade. The info he shared was reasonable, and helped to clear up our questions. Things to note if you attempt to purchase from Duncan Hokie Honda: 1) They will run any trade you have through autotrader, rather than simply booking it thru NADA. This will likely result in an offer worth less $ to you than actual NADA value, although they will show the NADA Retail Value of the vehicle they are selling; 2) The price sheets that they provide you each time a 'new deal' is struck will likely show a change on the “Retail Value” or the “Savings” amount....the actual price of the vehicle being purchased is not changing; 3) The above has no effect on their bottom line, but surely may on yours! ; and, 4) The person who types up the official documents and completes the sale is going to try to sell you various 'add-ons' such as GAP insurance, extended warranty, etc. They also have a $379 “Processing Fee” and Sales Tax is at a 4.28% rate. None of these things are uncommon to those familiar with purchasing vehicles from dealerships, but they are worth mentioning and should be watched...otherwise your bottom line may bump up quickly. (They, like other dealerships, will quickly attempt to target you with the maximum monthly payment you can afford versus the minimum actual purchase price you are willing to give for the vehicle.) With all this said, we would certainly buy from Duncan Hokie Honda again, and would refer family, friends, and neighbors to them…with the above specified! More
I've purchased four new Hondas from Duncan over the years and have had all of them serviced there. Never had a problem until today. I was sent a coupon in the mail for an oil change and tire rotation. years and have had all of them serviced there. Never had a problem until today. I was sent a coupon in the mail for an oil change and tire rotation. I called Beth in the service department who assured me I could use it. When I got there I was told by the service guy that it was not honored. The service manager, Mike, wouldn't even come out and talk to me, but told the service guy that they could not honor it. They didn't even try to compromise or offer any suggestions how they could help me. I even called back to voice my concern over the situation with Beth and she assured me she or Mike would call me back. Never heard back from either one. Very poor customer service in my opinion. Also very frustrating considering I've been a loyal customer for many years. Total waste of my time! Ridiculous!!! More

My family and I recently visited Virginia to spend time with our family. The morning we were leaving to return home to Florida the tire pressure monitor lights were reading low pressure on my 2011 Honda Pi with our family. The morning we were leaving to return home to Florida the tire pressure monitor lights were reading low pressure on my 2011 Honda Pilot. Promptly we checked all of the tire pressures and they were all the same, however, the evening before we noticed a screw in the back driver's side tire. Knowing that there was a screw in the tire and with the pressure lights on we decided to take the car to the closest Honda dealership. I called Duncan Hokie Honda made an appointment for 10:30 that morning and headed for the dealership. Upon arrival the service advisor had no appointment for us and then preceded to try and sell me Nitrogen for my tires explaining that the change in temperature could be the cause of the tire sensors. After waiting an hour our vehicle was taken back to the garage where the mechanic looked at the screw in my tire. Some time later a different service advisor came to us and said the tire could not be patched that we needed to buy a new tire at the cost of $210.00. We agreed and asked for our tire back. Once the job was finally done the tire was put in the back of my Pilot in a trash bag. We proceeded home to Florida. Once home we took the old tire out of the car it was evident that the screw had been pushed into the tire further in order to fully penetrate the tire so that a new tire would be necessary. We then took the old tire to a local Tire Kingdom and asked if they could patch the tire. Tire Kingdom was willing to patch the tire but admitted it was in an unfavorable location and probably would not hold, however, Tire Kingdom also agreed that someone would have had to of pushed the screw into the tire further in order to fully damage the tire and warrant a new tire. All in all Hokie Honda destroyed my tire in order for me to buy a new one. Hokie Honda also tried to sell me Nitrogen for my tires, but my tires were already filled with Nitrogen. When the manager, Mike Williams was approached with our experience he said, " I don't think any of my mechanic's would do this, but let me investigate this and get back to you." Mike did return the call, however, I could not answer the phone. After several returned phone calls to Mike I can not get a response. More

I went for a state inspection, and the service rep (Loyd) told me one of my wipers failed, and that it would be $16 to replace. That was twice as much as I'd ordinarily pay, but I said OK. They charged me $3 told me one of my wipers failed, and that it would be $16 to replace. That was twice as much as I'd ordinarily pay, but I said OK. They charged me $36.67 plus tax ($30.72 for the blades and $5.95 labor). When I complained, the service rep told me it was a misunderstanding, and they offered to make it right. But I thought it would be better to call attention to this incident so that others are aware of potential misunderstandings at this desk. I would never have paid $37 for blades if they'd told me that's what it would cost. More

The reason Duncan's Hokie Honda gets such a great rating from me is the caliber of it's sales team. Julie Felix the internet salesman was absolutely by far the best car salesman I have ever met. She goes ab from me is the caliber of it's sales team. Julie Felix the internet salesman was absolutely by far the best car salesman I have ever met. She goes above and beyond for her customers and is very knowledgible about the vehicles she sells. Jay Staurt a sales manager is also one of those high caliber people also. When the vehicle I was coming to the lot broke down Jay came and picked us up and brought us back to the dealership. That is going above and beyond in my book. Paula Best the final person in this car deal was very helpful and made the chore of filling out paperwork easy and actually enjoyable. All of these people seemed to love their job and seemed human compared to other sales people I have dealt with. We talked about our pets and past experiences. I would recommend buying a car from these people anytime. Thanks so much for making my car buying experience a pleasure. More
