Driveway. com doesn’t even deserve a 1 star review. If you are considering purchasing a car through this website, DO NOT DO IT. I don’t care how good the price com doesn’t even deserve a 1 star review. If you are considering purchasing a car through this website, DO NOT DO IT. I don’t care how good the price is, I’m telling you it is 100% worth paying more elsewhere. This company does not care about you or your money and you will regret it. My experience thus far: Purchased a car through driveway without reading any reviews. First mistake. This was my first time buying a car with a loan, and I didn’t fully understand APR loans and interest charges. Driveway gave me a proposal that DID NOT include the interest charge and I asked them, “are there any other fees/costs that are going to pop up later?” The sales woman assured me there wouldn’t be and this proposal was the final total cost. She lied. There was an additional $8k+ that popped up later hidden in the paperwork. Again, these people only want to make a sale and have no problem deceiving you. The way they communicate the entire delivery process and the process of getting you your tags/title is terrible. The communication is the equivalent of a high school drug deal or something, texts/calls/emails from multiple people who aren’t on the same page about anything. When it finally came time for my delivery, I got a one line email from someone on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving saying “they want to deliver on Friday”. I said ‘OK? They want to? Are they?’ I never heard back. I got a call on Friday while at work from a delivery driver telling me he is on his way and will be at my address in 3 hours. Great! Let’s stop everything I’m doing to deal with this. Oh, but it gets even better.. The guy calls me roughly 3 hours later telling me he’s lost on my road, so I happily agree to walk out there and direct him into my driveway. While I’m walking out I’m on the phone with him and he has his truck parked on the side of my road directly next to my driveway (I live in middle of nowhere with no other driveways near mine for a mile on either side). He says to me something about he has a 30ft trailer and he’s complaining, I clearly get his gist that he just doesn’t want to back his trailer into my driveway or pull in. That’s fine though, whatever…. Oh, but it gets better… I’m standing near the trailer as he gets his ramps out (tire wide ramps) and he begins talking about how bad electric cars are (I bought a Tesla) and is just a totally unpleasant guy to be around at this point. He puts the ramps on the trailer and gestures to me to pull it off myself. I’ve never reversed a $60k car or ANY car off of a flatbed trailer IN MY LIFE, but I see no other option at this point because this guy clearly hates his job, hates this car, and I don’t trust him to go anywhere near the car at this point. As I’m backing the car off, he’s watching me and I see him wince as the front bumper is moving over the ramps. I ask if anything scraped and he wouldn’t say anything. So I wasn’t sure at this point. Oh, but it gets better… I couldn’t really tell if there was damage under the bumper or ANYWHERE on the entire front half of the car because it was COVERED in mud. Big old globs of mud had been tossed into the front of the car, probably stones and everything else being whipped into the car from this guys truck as there was zero barrier between his trucks tires and the trailer/car. It was a rainy day and it was apparent this guy didn’t even attempt to drive slow with this car in tow. Oh, but it gets better… He hands me some papers to sign and asked me to write ‘no damage’ by the signature, I just did it because what the xxxx am I gonna do with this guy. Then he says I need to sign on his phone, but he couldn’t get the app open. So he says to xxxx with it, says the paper work is good enough for him. I said ‘as long as it will all work out’. He says “I don’t know if it will, all I care about is the paperwork” and then he left after talking some more about how much he hated electric cars. So here I am with my $60k car covered in mud with only pieces of paper on the floor mats. Windshield covered in mud, I had no choice but to use the wipers to get the car in my driveway, which caused tons of mud to get pushed down into that gap between the windshield and the hood. That’ll be fun to clean later. I checked the bottom of the front bumper once I got the car home and sure enough, under all the mud there’s a big chunk of paint missing from the car scraping the trailer ramp. It was at this moment I realized why the delivery driver didn’t want to pull the car off, he knew 100% his trailer wasn’t suited for this car, he may have even scraped it when loading the car and he wanted all liability on me. Or he didn’t and he just didn’t want to risk scraping it in front of me and make his day longer than it had to be. Either way, this goes to show the level of organization and care Driveway.com has when it comes to fundamental aspects of their business. My 7 day ‘trial period’ has officially begun, and, I can’t even drive the car because I have no temp tags and I have gotten zero communication telling me when I can expect the temp tags. I have talked to other Driveway customers who never even received the temp tags, so I’m really hoping this isn’t going to happen to me. If I do not receive them by Monday (Saturday now), I will be attempting to return the car. But, I’ve read many reviews from Driveway customers stating that Driveway wouldn’t even respond to them once they decided they wanted to return the car, they never hear from the company until after the 7 day period has expired. How convenient. Do yourself a favor, avoid Driveway.com at all costs. More
Don’t walk, RUN! From this dealership. As other have said, since wiring over my $$ to this dealership it has been nothing short of a disaster. Terrible customer servi From this dealership. As other have said, since wiring over my $$ to this dealership it has been nothing short of a disaster. Terrible customer service. I bought the car 9/7/22 and paperwork is still not submitted to the DMV and nobody has an answer why. Cassandra, Christina and Anne have all been less than helpful and when I asked to speak with a supervisor they “don’t know her number” “only know her name is Amy” and “don’t know when she works.” Save yourself the time and frustration, this company is a joke. I had previously left a review where I was not too happy with this company. Don’t get me wrong, I love my car, but I had a lot of issues with it. I was extremely frustrated and times have been really hard a with this company. Don’t get me wrong, I love my car, but I had a lot of issues with it. I was extremely frustrated and times have been really hard and I wasn’t able to take care of the repairs. I had reached out to customer service a couple of different times with no luck but then Eli reached out to me. He was so empathetic and went above and beyond to help me out so I can get the repairs done on my car and keep my job. He made my entire experience 1000% better. Driveway has a much better selection than any other online dealers. And their financing company was one of the best I’ve ever dealt with. But I have to say it is thanks to Eli that I will still recommend this dealership! More
I purchased a vehicle from Driveway back in August. I had the vehicle for about 1 month and then it started to violently shake when I would accelerate. It was still within the warranty time frame so I I had the vehicle for about 1 month and then it started to violently shake when I would accelerate. It was still within the warranty time frame so I took my vehicle into a repair shop and Driveway said they would cover the repair expenses. My car sat at the repair shop for an entire month with the repairs completed because Driveway wouldn’t pay the repair shop. They said it wasn’t their responsibility, it was the selling dealership’s responsibility for payment. I was told FOUR different times a check was cut and sent overnight for payment. I had to FIGHT multiple times to get any real answers and then finally Driveway decided to put me in a rental car for TWO days which I am assuming is what sparked someone to send the payment to the repair shop. Little did I know that would not be the end of my issues…I have had the car in my possession for THREE months now and I have never received a registration or my plates. My SECOND temporary tag has been expired for two months and still no permanent plates. When I call in to speak with anyone about why I still don’t have my plates, no one has any answers and I am told someone will contact me and I never hear back. I have had documents sent to me FOUR times to have notarized, which I have gotten notarized and sent back in a very timely manner and still nothing….now over a week ago I was told there needed to be a VIN inspection done on the vehicle and they would coordinate that to get completed and haven’t heard a thing. I called the DMV to see if there was anything I could do to get my plates without having to go through Driveway and they told me no unfortunately. I guess at this rate I’ll never get plates or get in contact with anyone who knows what the xxxx is going on. I’ve sent emails to their support email address…don’t waste your time as I’ve never been responded to. I’ve asked over ten times to speak with anyone with authority to actually help me when I call in and I am told no. This place is the BIGGEST joke I’ve ever had the displeasure of working with and I just cannot believe they are in business…WHAT DO I DO????? More
Don’t do it! !! You will not get registration/plates before the temporary tags expire. If everything goes as they explained to me, I will have a minimum 30 days !! You will not get registration/plates before the temporary tags expire. If everything goes as they explained to me, I will have a minimum 30 days gap between my temporary tags expiring and my permanent plates arriving….and they don’t see this as a problem. Use a third party vendor to process this work but won’t disclose their name. Just terrible customer service. More
Update: The issue has been resolved so I gave them an extra star. I bought a 2017 Hyundai Accent Hatchback from Baierl Chevrolet though Driveway.com on September 21 2022. Here we are almost 2 mo extra star. I bought a 2017 Hyundai Accent Hatchback from Baierl Chevrolet though Driveway.com on September 21 2022. Here we are almost 2 months later and I have not received my plates that were financed in the deal. I guess this is nothing compared to the 7 months or more other reviewers have reported. Anyway, I got a letter from my insurance company today stating they will be cancelling my policy on the vehicle due to the car not being registered (the finance company will love that). Not that I could drive the car anyway, but still, things are just getting worse. I am making payments on this car and part of those payments are for the tax, title and registration. Yet none of that has been done. I told them I don't play games, so I will be renting a car next week and driving to Baierl Chevrolet in Pennsylvania and demanding they put the money for the registration in my hand or the paperwork proving they have done it and that it's on its way. See you soon. More
It’s been 3 months no update on my registration and title , I get same response every day I call them that they don’t have any update and will call me back once they hear back from their agent. My bank has n , I get same response every day I call them that they don’t have any update and will call me back once they hear back from their agent. My bank has now sent an email to me that as they have not received the title with lien they will put my loan on default. Crazy that even after spending insane dollars in car purchase I could not drive. More
It has been a nightmare, my partner and I had a total of 5 vehicle transaction and nobody seems to know nothing when asked as if they have never done this before. Their communication is ZERO, don't tell you 5 vehicle transaction and nobody seems to know nothing when asked as if they have never done this before. Their communication is ZERO, don't tell you when the car is being dropped off even though there should have been travel coordinator, no info on the warranty (had to beg for that), they overnight paperwork but not a check (its been sent out 3 times from my account now), wrote my temp tags for 3 weeks and now its expiring and I'm being told to just put my plates on and they'll reimburse me but still waiting on a check from 2 weeks ago. Worst experience ever, WHEN IS SAY THEY ACT AS IF THEY'VE NEVER DONE ANY OF THIS BEFORE, YOU'LL SEE IT AT EVERYWHERE. They knew about them temp tag issue for 2 weeks and now its the day before and no one knows anything and I'm told to put my plates on and they'll reimburse me lmao....when I'm still waiting for the first supposed reimbursement. YEAH YOU CAN TRADE YOUR CAR BUT AT SERIOUS COST! More
Updating review since Eli from driveway contacted me directly and explained the situation and processed my refund request. To help with my car search, he gave me a list of local dealerships that Drivewa directly and explained the situation and processed my refund request. To help with my car search, he gave me a list of local dealerships that Driveway's parent company owns which may list new inventory before it makes it to Driveway's website. I hope that they sort out the issue that lead to the car being sold at the physical dealership level and not reflected on Driveway's website so that it is caught earlier and it doesn't happen in the future. I am willing to give them another try if they get the right inventory in the near future. More
