My wife and I purchased a vehicle from Driveway in June 2022. The acquisition process was a little lengthy and took about 2 weeks to complete but we were patient with it. When the vehicle was delivered, the representative said that in the event that our temporary plate expires, give them a heads up and it would take about a week to receive a new temporary plate. We are on week 3 and still don’t have a new temporary plate and they seem to have no desire to provide another temporary plate. I’ve spoken with at least 6 different people on this issue at Driveway. I’ve had one customer service agent leave me on hold for at least 45 minutes at which point I called from another phone. Their customer service is deplorable. I will not be purchasing another vehicle from Driveway and regret doing so. More

First, the start/stop warning light came on, then the very next day or two the vehicle just would not start. Driveway supposedly had the vehicle repaired,(keep in mind it was at the dealership for 3 weeks) not even 2 days later the vehicle did the exact same thing. Now, another 3 weeks later I pick up the vehicle and the part that I was informed was to be replacing were in the trunk of my vehicle still in the box wrapped in plastic...NEVER were installed. I'm furious!!! In the meantime car payment and car insurance is coming due again... for a vehicle I haven't had in my possession for 7 days. Not to mention, the manager at driveway Gerald felt because they put me in a rental vehicle and paid the 1st car payment that I should be satisfied... HECK NO!! THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE EVER HAPPEN...now that I've sent pictures of the parts still in the vehicles trunk no one s responding!!!! NEVER AGAIN will I purchase another vehicle from them nor will I refer anyone!! More
Driveway offers the convenience of searching cars on a national level and then attempting to complete the transaction. The dealers however do not work well with Driveway. The dealer recalculated my total cost (in my case it was cheaper) and because they receive no or reduced fees you are treated as a second rate customer. When complaining about the poor transaction experience with the dealer they kept telling me it was because I went thru driveway. I would definitely go direct to the dealer. The dealer offers their own options on home delivery that are equal to Driveway and they end of doing the whole transaction anyhow. More

I started this process around the middle of June finally signed all the paperwork June 30th received my vehicle July 20th as to where they picked up my trade in that was my everyday driver now I have a $40k lawn ornament ... It did not come with a temp tag apparently California does not issue temp tags and Driveway told me to just drive it and if I get pulled over to just show my paperwork ,Well I live in Florida and my brother in-law is Florida Highway Patrol and that is against the law to drive a vehicle without a tag registered to the vehicle, Driveway then told me to take the paperwork that I have to my local DMV and get a temp tag, so I went to the DMV and that is a NO GO ,so I call Driveway again and explain everything that the DMV explained to me they said that they would call the dealership to where the vehicle came from and see if the dealership would send me all the necessary paperwork so I could get a tag, Well the lady messaged me back a short time later stating that since my vehicle is financed through Driveway Finance they have to use FIVE64 title agency and that i just have to wait..... WHAT KIND OF PURE B@!!$** is this ?????You are giving a 7 day return policy sounds good unless you can not drive it So lucky me I have a vehicle payment in less than 2 weeks for lawn ornament.. Every time I talk to someone at Driveway they seem nice , But being nice to me does not solve my issue... My wife purchased a vehicle from VROOM she started her process a day before I started mine with Driveway she has been driving her vehicle for over a month now so I know how things should go you definitely will not get fast service with Driveway... and most Negative reviews get deleted from driveway, I do not need a response from Driveway saying the same old BULL CRAP response or automated response that it always gives .. So all in all I definitely would not recommend Driveway if you are looking to purchase a vehicle online , they have friendly staff but apparently not the right resources to do their job properly and do not expect to be kept informed of the process that does not happen , it is up to the customer to spend hours on the phone to get through to someone oh 15 minutes at a time because after 15 minutes being on hold it sends you to voicemail More
DON'T DO IT! I bought a car from driveway with a trade in, they delivered the car with NO TAGS, highway patrol said the car is NOT LEGAL to be driven. The dealership that delivered the car told me if i get pulled over just to explain the situation and hope you don't get a ticket!!! Now i am stuck with a car that is not legal to be driven!! As far as my trade in, its sitting in my driveway, still not paid off, no one has contacted me on who's going to pick it up. I tried contacting driveway, the dealership, no one knows what's going on, everyone says they will call me back yet no one has contacted me. I wish i never bought this car the stress it has caused was not worth it. I am now taking ubers to work, they don't care, no one at this company cares. They will just say "we will call you back" and never do. If anyone else is going thru this i advise you to report driveway to the state, get their dealer license pulled. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID. LOOK ELSEWHERE. More
I bought my car from driveway and traded my current vehicle in. I’ve had my new car since July 7th and the took my other car that I traded the next day and my trade still hasn’t been paid off. I even cc’d the manager in one of the emails and still nothing. More

I wanted to love Driveway and I did until it came down to registration. I am beyond frustrated because I am getting No resolution and I am only able to speak to ONE agent named Ann regarding this. I honestly do not feel that it is fair to have one outlet for a problem that I should not have. I live in a smaller town and they are very strict about license and registration. Also, after purchasing a 40k plus car I should not have these issues. I just want my car registered in my state so I can move on with my life. i even called the dealership where the car came from and they said they were complete with their process and I still have not heard back from Driveway! I am not happy and no matter how much I ask to speak with a manager I have yet to hear anything back. I even tried to reach out to Corporate which is Lithia and although their website says Lithia cares they DO NOT CARE. I will say this, if you decide to purchase car online use Vroom or Carvana because Driveway is absolutely TERRIBLE! If I could give 0 stars I would. More
When received the vehicle it had the strongest smoke odor. Also inside at the top were burn marks from the cigarettes. I asked for a video walk around of the vehicle inside and outside and received it over a week in half after I asked for it and 2 days before delivery. When told about it. They took forever to respond. Just shady on their part. Get videos or FaceTime them of the vehicle and make sure and ask about smoke or any other detailed questions. For these reasons would not recommend. More

My second temporary tag I had to get with them will expire July 28th. I won't be able to drive my car after that. It's the worst feeling. In a situation that should be exciting, I'm just filled with regret for trusting this company. They don't seem concerned about my issue. I'm not the one who should have to be making phonecalls and sending texts to rectify this issue. I paid for a service I'm not getting.. and from all the 1 star reviews I see, leaving this review won't matter. More
