Then the issues started. The car had to be delivered from Nevada to Virginia. The delivery was delayed by 1 day - Jonathan kept me informed and it was OK. Then vehicle inspections had to be done and it was found that the one tire didn't meet the safety inspection criteria and failed the safety inspection. Another day delay but again kept informed. Then I was advised of a light on the dashboard and issue that needed to be investigated. Intermittent communication followed and I escalated twice to Driveway. Eventually when I advised Driveway that I wanted to cancel the purchase, I received a text from Jonathan to advise the vehicle is ready for delivery. I asked what was wrong with the vehicle and received a response. Against my better judgment, I then took delivery of the vehicle. I am so, so disappointed. The vehicle is scratched and it looks like it's had bodywork, but there was nothing in the CarFax report. There was also only 1 key with the vehicle. I sent a complaint to Driveway and advised them that I was not happy with the car and want to return it. I also sent photos. I then had a customer service representative call me a couple of hours later stating that the photos online show that the car had scratches and damage when I bought it and neither Driveway, nor the dealership (ABC Hyundai) are prepared to do anything. I do not remember seeing those scratches and when I tried to find the advert online, it had been taken down. I was told that I will need to pay to have the car delivered back to Nevada minus my original deposit for the car ($2200-$500=$1700). The customer representative kept stating that I had signed it in the contract and I just felt so, so disappointed and cheated. This has been a terrible experience. I waited 2 weeks for my new vehicle and when I received it, it was not what I expected. I feel deceived. I will never be using Driveway again or recommending them to others. More

My husband and I bought a 2018 Mazda Cx-5 through Driveway.com. When we received the vehicle, we immediately noticed that it was smoking out of the engine. As soon as we noticed the issue, we took vi Driveway.com. When we received the vehicle, we immediately noticed that it was smoking out of the engine. As soon as we noticed the issue, we took videos so that neither Driveway or DCH Academy Honda in NJ could try to say that we did something to the vehicle. The very next morning we took the car to a professional mechanic who diagnosed that the vehicle had a blown head gasket and would need a brand new engine. We contacted Driveway immediately to let them know about the issue with the vehicle. Upon hearing the news from the mechanic and getting the diagnostic report, we contacted driveway to tell them that we would be returning the vehicle. (all within the 7 day return window) Driveway and DCH Academy Honda is trying to tell us that the $8,000 diagnostic report from our PROFESSIONAL mechanic is not enough evidence to prove that the vehicle needs a new engine in order for us to get our shipping fee back. We didn’t even need a diagnostic report from a mechanic to tell that there was clearly something wrong with the vehicle! However, we still had one done! The fact that when purchasing a used vehicle through driveway there is an “AS IS” box that states that ALL of their vehicles are inspected and reconditioned for mechanical and safety issues. This was FALSE advertising. NOT TO MENTION, we offered Driveway photo and videographic evidence of the issue with the car in which they declined to see. Clearly, Driveway and the dealership does not inspect or recondition these vehicles. We also have tried to contact both Driveway’s supervisor as well as the dealership and they HAVE NOT RESPONDED. I have already contacted Better Business Bureau, Lithia Motors, and Honda to inform them of how these businesses are being ran! My mechanic will be in touch with both Driveway and DCH Academy Honda as well. SAVE YOURSELF AND DO NOT PURCHASE FROM EITHER OF THESE BUSINESSES. More
