No Attention to Detail. First, it started with making an appointment. When I purchased my new car we were sold a "protection plan" for $555 that protects the paint and inter First, it started with making an appointment. When I purchased my new car we were sold a "protection plan" for $555 that protects the paint and interior seats. We were told we can schedule a "cleaning" over the life of our warranty by simply making an appointment. 3 times we tried to schedule this appointment and nobody seems to ever know what we are talking about. It's a great mystery what this "protection plan" is. I finally found my purchase paperwork, brought it in, and what do you know, now they say, "oh yeah, we can do this but just not today, oh and you have to leave your car over the weekend or during the week for 3 days." Very shady practice if you ask me. I didn't even want this protection plan but was forced into it because they said, "it was already on the vehicle." Explain THAT logic. Second, I have been having issues with my key. The metal key keeps slipping off the plastic key fob. It has been getting worse since day 1. Every time I bring my car in for service I mention it and every time they say "it's normal" or "did you drop it?" Finally, it got to the point that it is undeniably a manufacturer defect. Key slips off with no effort. When I came back to pick up my car, my wife went in to get the keys. She said, "they gave us a new key!" I was excited until I got home and noticed they just gave us a new plastic key fob with the same metal key. Although it fits a little more snug, it had the same issue. Obviously, the issue is with the metal key, not the key fob. I appreciated the gesture but wouldn't you at least check if the problem was fixed before handing the key to the customer? I called and they said they need to order the metal key and that it would take another week. Not I have to take another day out of my life to revisit the dealership. Third, I don't know if this issue was because of the new key they gave us or because they did a computer recall reset on my car but when I got home, my other key didn't work at all. When I called and asked about it the service tech literally said, "oh yeah, well if you have another key then it would be an issue." As if it was MY responsibility to have known a computer reset would cause other keys not to work. It would seem easier to ask me if I had any spare keys at the time of service. Again, I have to return so they can reprogram my key. Overall I think most service departments have a real lack of understanding just how incredibly inconvenient it is to spend hours at a dealership or days without a vehicle. A simple mistake or oversight can really make customers upset when we rely on them to be the experts for servicing these vehicles. I hope this review can serve as an example of how seemingly minor issues can cause a customer to take their business elsewhere. More

Fantastic! I had a wonderful experience at Downey Hyundai, the rep that took care of me was named Enrique. I have a 2016 Tuscon with just under 30k miles and the I had a wonderful experience at Downey Hyundai, the rep that took care of me was named Enrique. I have a 2016 Tuscon with just under 30k miles and there have been many issues with the vehicle. Its had a stutter when accelerating since I bought it new, the car has had a continuous burning smell, long past the breaking in period (for 30k miles). The passenger seat heater has never worked either. Also I had fogging in my driver side head lamp which made it difficult to see. Enrique took my car in for over a week and fixed every single problem, added in a new shifter, new seat, updated all recalls, and a new headlamp. My car drives so much better then it ever has. Every other dealer I've taken it too has screwed me over saying they don't notice a hesitation in the car or the burning smell (Huntington beach Hyundai is not god awful), but he took care of me. Excellent dealership will never take my car to another. More
