After about three months while at the local Ford service center I was told the car had problems in the rear that looked suspicious. I contacted the dealership to discuss these findings. To their credit they promised to look into the issue and sent me to the Dover Chevy collision department. The collision department put their best technician, Jon Sadler on my car immediately and reported very bad news. What I learned was my GT had been a rental and had gotten into a serious accident and the repairs were not done by a professional. The collision department reported this to Dover Chevy GM, Don McEwen who contacted the seller of my GT and discussed the findings and repair options. Because the frame was bent on the right side I was given the option to go ahead and have the car fixed or accept a full refund of all the money I spent buying the car plus all the aftermarket items I had purchased. Due to the unknown after learning the GT had been a rental we chose to get a refund which was the appropriate thing to do but broke my heart. While at Dover Chevy I noticed a Camaro convertible in the showroom. Kyle Fales approached me and I explained the issue with the Mustang. He and I looked at the 2023 3LT Camaro and I was impressed with the tech loaded in it and the refinements. Kyle knew I was in a bad placed due the news of my previous car. He went to GM Don McEwen who by that time was fully aware of my situation. I was given a very fair price for the new car with added discounts for my military service and Chevy rebates. I discussed all of this with my wife. She knew what that Mustang meant to me and was immediately interested in pursuing the Camaro. The difference in price from the return of the Mustang and the price of the Camaro was something we were able to pay in cash, so no financing. It was then that we met finance manager Anton Marienko. Anton went over all the numbers and was very pleasant to deal with. It took less that 30 minutes since we were paying cash for the Camaro. The entire process from the time I first stepped in the door until my wife drove the Camaro off the lot was less than 36 hours. My wife would not drive the Mustang due to the longer hood and seat configuration. She did not feel she could see well enough. The Camaro is built differently so she feels very comfortable driving it which is a plus for me. Don runs a very friendly, low pressure dealership which helped me out when I felt vulnerable. I thank him and his staff for their assistance in getting out of a very bad situation and into a brand new car that we will enjoy for many years. I also want to thank the collision specialist, Jon Sadler for his brutal honesty. His discussions with me helped immeasurably with making the decision to let the Mustang go. 5 Stars John!! Thank you. I’m in the business and this dealership treated me the way I train my sales people to be… they were profesional , courteous, and out of their way helpful. Kyle Fales my sales person drove an hour to get paperwork signed , Anton Marienko made sure to get me the best rate in finance , and Don made sure all the guys took special care of me . By far the best car buying experience I have had, straight forward and honest. Mike showed the new features/technology of the vehicle and followed with benefits….how it should be done. A month ago I spoke with Anton in finance regarding purchasing a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox with 27,900 miles for for 23,700 which was an excellent value. This was a most pleasant experience. Anton was g purchasing a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox with 27,900 miles for for 23,700 which was an excellent value. This was a most pleasant experience. Anton was great and very friendly and professional. I drove from Maine to New Hampshire after working overnight to pick up the vehicle prior to working my next overnight shift that evening. Once arriving I was greeted by my salesperson, the sales manager and several other employees who just as friendly and courteous as Anton. I took the vehicle on a test drive and it seemed to be as advertised. I explained u had to be home to go to work at 645 and they were extremely understanding and accommodating. The entire process went seamless. Now the bad. Previous speaking to Anton in finance I had looked up the cash price fory vehicle on Kelley Blue Book as advertised on the dealer website and although I could have gotten 5400 -6700 per KBB, I was ok with the 4200. Upon confirmation of the sale the finance person working in the stead of Anton processed the paperwork and had me sign. I was pleasantly surprised to see I had gotten 5,000 for my trade in. Come to find out that I was so tired that I saw the 2 as a five and only got 2000 for my trade in. My trade in was a 2011 Kia Forte with only 75000 miles which I just put new tires on and had inspected 2 months prior and replaced the front 2 tire with alloy aluminum wheels. I take full accountability for going in tired and misreading this. I was told by my salesperson that there was a spare key fob for my vehicle but that he could not locate it and out of consideration for my time he would mail it. I never received it in the mail. Later when I went to register my vehicle at the Maine Department of Motor Vehicles, I was informed that most out of state vendors who operate in a state where is no sales tax with calculate the state tax for where the buyer resides and make sure it becomes part of the loan. This did not happen. So when I went to register my vehicle u paid 1400 out of pocket. No biggie since I paid off my vehicle this month. It was advertised that my vehicle had aluminum alloy wheels. I went to wipe them off when it rained and discover the rims were a black plastic composite not metal. I paid off my last car in 14 months which was used for my trade in and paid off this in a month hoping next month to return to New Hampshire to Dover Chevrolet to purchase a new vehicle to once again upgrade and make them my dealership of choice. I don't drive a car over 80000 miles and rarely drive over 7000 miles a year or keep a car more than 2 years without paying it off and trading it in. I will not be returning to this dealership. Customer service grade A+. Business graded F. But since business is a part of customer service, I will give business a D. More
