I took my vehicle into Don Hewlett in June because the check engine light was on and I advised them of all my concerns being issues while accelerating and my care shaking when stopped. Spark plugs were replaced due to misfire to the engine, about a month later (July) I called back for the same issue & took for a drive with the manager. The manager advised that the car was running as it should. Now, end of September check engine light is back on. I scheduled an appt 9/27/21 and of course they want to keep your car for a minimum of 3 days just to diagnose it. The diagnostic given 9/28/21 with what needs to be replace and the cost. The issue is something with the engine and misfiring. A part was ordered and I was told it's on back order with no estimated delivery time and it could take another week or so and nothing can be done since there are no loaners available. I spoke to the owner of the dealership Michael Hewlett on 9/30/21 he told me I can Uber, Lyft or use a friend's car and there is nothing that can be done for me for transportation, and he provides the same information to other customers as well. I asked for rental reimbursement because in the past Henna Chevrolet have assisted, the manager said they can't assist. I offered to pick my car up until the part was ready he said that I could but they would charge me more than my initial quote if there is more damages. I asked him for other options or assistance? He laughed and said well what are you going to do? I even contacted General Motors to see about a status update on the part. I was referred back to the dealership's customer service manager who advised nothing can be done for me at this time unless my car was new. I was able to pick up my car 10/11/21 partially fixed with the part still on backorder. Check engine light was still on.. Then there was smoke coming from under the hood after driving it for less than 30 minutes. I called the service department and he advised that it was normal with the partial fix and to bring my car back to the shop.. They had to fix the hose causing an oil leak. There is a lot of oil in my driveway. On 10/12/21 I am about 10 minutes from my house getting gas and my car has cut off.. Took 20 minutes to start up again and the part is still on backorder.. AGAIN another inconvenience. I called service back and was advise to bring the car in once again. At this point I have paid $983.00 for partial repairs and was told my car is can be driven even though there is a major oil leak and its cutting off more than before. I spoke to my service advisor on 10/15/21 he set up a tow for me. Here is it 10/18/21 past lunch time still no update on my car. I am having to call for a status update. I have already went days/weekend without a car. I understand my car is no longer under warranty but I am still spending money for repairs in which I tried to get ahead of this a month ago. I have been taking my car to this dealership over a year now. Still waiting on an update Plenty of my family own Chevy's Don’t take your car there if there is no warranty even when you are spending your own money it means nothing. The customer service & accommodations are horrible. I will never go back to Don Hewlett nor purchase another Chevy. More
At first we bought a used 2018 truck. Off the lot the truck did not smell, however after bringing it home for a day, a smell of cigarette was present in the truck. Being non smokers this was unacceptable truck did not smell, however after bringing it home for a day, a smell of cigarette was present in the truck. Being non smokers this was unacceptable as this is going to be the family vehicle. The dealership recognized this and took the vehicle back, and searched for a sufficient replacement for me. They found a brand new Silverado 1500 LT that we loved and ending up taking home. So all in all, the dealership corrected the issue. I highly recommend Don Hewlett. Chase Bass our salesman always kept in contact with me, as we were waiting an extra 2 weeks or so for the new vehicle to arrive. More

He keep us posted constantly and said appointments had to go first. We were pleasantly surprised that the car is Fixed! FYI and under warranty! We would have had to take the corvette, no gps, two golf bags and suitcases! Let me also add the service of the front desk attendant and the gentleman who drove the Van. My husband left his cell phone and his glasses in the van that took him home. The attendant in the service area tracked them down and had them delivered . What a wonderful group of employees. We have been coming to this dealership for years. Bought 3 vehiclesand another one within the year but this last experience was awful from start to finish. First off the sales guy told us the only difference from the 2500 Chevy ltz truck we bought and the high country was badging… then the truck we traded in was only worth $19,500 and but yet they turn around and sell it for $33000… I understand they need to make a profit but why do us that dirty. Then we move on to financing which was done through GM but I knew there was better rates out there and the lady said all we had to do was take this financing and all you half to do is take the paperwork to your preferred bank and just switch, that easy…. Liar which I recorded this too it’s not that easy you half to refinance and in the recording I mentioned that and she lied straight to our face. Then lastly was the accessory department which offered is a $100 credit when they were running a promotion for $1000, I had to file a complaint on them so they would offer a promotion they were advertising on their website. I spoke with several people to make things right including the general manager RENE MARQUEZ who was so rude and never bothered to call us back or return my email. Do not believe anything they say, do your research, get second opinions because at this dealership you do half to second guess honesty and greed. Our business to them meant nothing, profit was more important than having us a returning customer. This experience was the worst I’ve ever had and them profiting $8,000-$10,000 on the trade in was more important to them them than our future business. It’s a shame how dirty they did us. More
Worst service experience ever. Made a 7am appointment for a factory recall that was suppose to be a 3 hour repair. Evidently appointments mean nothing. Returned to dealer at 1 pm and was told vehicle would b a factory recall that was suppose to be a 3 hour repair. Evidently appointments mean nothing. Returned to dealer at 1 pm and was told vehicle would be ready at the end of the day. xxx ??? What was the point of arriving at 7 am? Finally got vehicle at 5:33 pm. Would not send my worst enemy to this dealership! Also, just a heads up, very few employees wearing mask. Had to give one star to post otherwise it would have been -0. More
I felt like my last repair job was a cash scam. My vehicle wouldn’t start so I got a jumpstart and went to get a new battery installed. Started fine a few days and died on me again. Took to Hewlett and was told that I needed ECM replaced for $872, picked up vehicle and it wouldn’t start 3-4 days later. While getting any jumpstart we notified that one of the battery cables was loose. So instead of a fairly inexpensive repair, I got scammed for a more expensive repair. Not fair. More
