Hello Mark Lamb - We're sorry to learn that you are dissatisfied with the results of your recent vehicle service visit to Don Hewlett Chevrolet-Buick. You presented your recently purchased used vehicle to us with a check engine concern which resulted in the vehicle going into reduced power mode. Our tech initially found a faulty battery which you approved for replacement. Further inspection found numerous aftermarket components to be installed on the vehicle and other factory components either loose or missing the necessary securing bolts completely. Authorization for deeper vehicle diagnosis was denied. If you are now experiencing further vehicle issues our recommendation is for you to seek further, needed vehicle diagnostic. Well hello Donald Ray Davis from Cedar Park! We're sorry to learn that you are dissatisfied with the successful completion of the requested services of this day. Yes, you are correct that the service procedure called for in this GM Recall usually takes about 3 hours to complete. However, due to the current level of service business in our shop our staff was very clear from the time the drop off reservation was made to the actual day of vehicle drop off that we would need the majority of an entire work day to complete the requested work. We were glad to be able to provide a complimentary ride for you back home and were fully prepared to arrange a ride back to the dealership once the repairs were completed. On your own - you decided it was better for you return to the dealership and wait. We will celebrate with you that we were able to complete the needed repairs within the time frame established - one business day. Our hope is that your truck continues to drive and operate normally and that you are able to use it as needed without issue. Just FYI - some months ago we sponsored an onsite, free COVID vaccination day for our employees. Upon verification of full vaccination we allow our staff to conduct business mask free. The few employees you may have noticed still wearing masks have chosen to not be vaccinated for medical, religious or personal reasons and we continue to require the use of PPE for these staff members. We realize you have a choice of where to seek vehicle services. Rest assured that when / if you ever need this same level of professional, friendly vehicle support we'll be here - in Georgetown - just like we have been for these past 50 years. There was not a thing about service matter that was ‘professional’! The one sure thing I know about this experience is the fact that I will never return to Hewlett for service or another vehicle purchase. Also, will not recommend them for service or sales.
