I went to Don Hewlett Chevy to look at the 2022 Corvette. I had also scheduled an appointment at a different dealership to see a Mercedes. Just for some context, I drive a new Range Rover and the Corvette I had also scheduled an appointment at a different dealership to see a Mercedes. Just for some context, I drive a new Range Rover and the Corvette or Mercedes was going to be a weekend car. When I arrived at the dealership the salesperson showed us the Corvette very briefly, and then he whisked us off to his office. Since I have never driven the Corvette, I wanted to test drive the car. The salesperson started his interrogation of my financial background. He wanted to know where i worked, my job title, how long have I been there, my income, do I own a home, and so on. I was getting extremely annoyed at this point and told him I just want to test drive the car at this point. He then explained how hard these cars are to come by and they cost $100k. This made me even more annoyed since he saw me get out of a $100k car when I arrived. He asked me for my driver's license, which I had left in my car. When I went to get the license, he started to integrate my girlfriend about my finances. When I returned and give the salesperson my license, he left to make a copy. My girlfriend explained what he was asking her while I was gone. After some time he came back with a manager. The manager asked me if I was serious about buying the car because they can't have just anyone test driving the vehicle. I told him I was but I also had another appointment at Mercedes to see their car. He said I don't appear to be very serious I'm going to Mercedes. At this point, I had enough and told them to give me my driver's license back and we left. The Corvette they were selling was marked up $40k over MSRP and they gave the worse customer service experience ever. I guess all things happen for a reason because I just bought a 2022 convertible Corvette with more options for $20k less at a different dealership. I would not recommend this dealership, no one should ever be treated like this. They made me feel like i was a criminal. It's just a car and they should respect and treat all of their customers equally, regardless of their RACE. More
