I had prepared myself for a stereotypical dreaded sales experience that would be followed up by a terrifying experience with the finance person. My wife and I traveled to Don Franklin Hyundai in Nicholasville and were only there to test drive a vehicle. Our sales person, Courtney, immediately set an amazingly positive and transparent tone. She was easy to get along with and, despite me having my guard up, was very patient with us and never pressured us at any point. After our test drive, she found a vehicle in their inventory that met all the things we wanted and was at an incredible price. We honestly had no intention of buying that day since I wanted my wife to test drive a couple other vehicles from a few other dealerships. It was a new 2018 Hyundai Sonata SEL. And no, this was certainly not a bait and switch. This was a genuine effort on her part to work with us and help us. Truthfully, she was more transparent, straightforward, and honest about all aspects including all the way through the sales process. I was simply blown away. I had communicated with about 10 different dealerships and she was easily the best person I had dealt with. No games, no gimmicks, just honest courtesy and a desire to help. Lastly, their finance person, for which I had great fear going in, made the final steps very straightforward. Didn't try to fight us or go 12 rounds. Overall this experience will be something that I will not forget. Seriously, this place is worth checking out and if you do, I can say that Courtney will not steer you wrong, The sales manager was also very respectful and nice as well. Thank you! More
Dishonest and then gets frustrated at you for being mad. You know, I have bragged about this location in the past, in fact I got a friend to buy his car from him. My first displeasure, was when I was told I would not get my referral fee because by the time I called them to follow-up it had been more than 30 days, yet I was there the day he bought his vehicle and he informed the rep I was the one who referred him. I let it slide, because I enjoyed my first experience so much. When I totalled my car I decided to go back and speak to Rob, once I told Rob that this time around I thought I would prefer a used vehicle as opposed to new, he basically turned his nose up and said, go on our site if you find something you like just holler, with zero help with giving suggestions that I requested. I then asked for the finance manager, and oh how I wish so much that I remember his name. I asked him to cancel my gap and warranty as the car was totaled. I asked to be issued the checks for them, he said it goes to my finance company, I explained my insurance paid them off so therefore it should come to me, he explained once they pay it to the finance company I will then get a check from the finance company for overpayment, okay fine. This call took place on December 10. I called back on January 14th to see where everything was at with the refund, and was told by Tony Lewis that it would take about 4-6 weeks, by this point it was over four weeks so I would give it another few weeks, he then informed me the service manager never did cancel the Gap insurance... this really frustrated me, because if I didn't follow-up this would likely never have been done. Tony then assured me he would cancel it right then. Okay fine, I call today, it's now been 8 weeks from the December request. Still, nothing has been paid, when I ask for documentation proving they, in fact, canceled it since they have proven to be untrustworthy he met me with some irritation saying, well I am not the one who didn't cancel it the first time, AND? It's your team, in my eyes, you are ALL one. How the heck am I to know who to trust and who not to trust? I should just get things done the first time I ask without needing to follow-up and speak to more than one person. I then asked for a copy of proof, again, he said you can come by and get it. I said I prefer email he was like I can't do that. I said and exactly why not? It felt like he was intentionally trying to make it more difficult because he was irritated with me for being annoyed about them being dishonest. Not to mention now I am being told it takes 6-8 weeks, I said regardless, it's in fact been 8 weeks to the day from the December cancellation. So back to asking for written proof, he now suddenly is willing to email it to me when I pointed out how ridiculous it is to ask me to commute to Nicholasville and back for something that can simply be emailed. It really confirmed the feeling they don't mind being dishonest to me and are trying to make this more difficult on me because I simply am calling them out on their dishonesty. At this point, I can't recommend them to my family and friends, and I will just buy cars with Green's Toyota from here on out. At least they keep their word, which doesn't even require having to be defensive about anything. Let's just now wait and see if I ever get that email or my refunds without having to seek a legal advisor. More
