This is our first experience with Dick Hannah Dodge. He was able to quickly give is enough of a deal to stay and see it through. They met most of our requests and were able to give us a 1.45% rate which made financing more appealing. Our salesman, Ron Lewis was great. We drove up from Eugene to see a used Toyota Prius that Dick Hanna had advertised on Craiglist for just under $17,500. Ultimately we purchased it for $17, 260. It was advertised as a Prius with accessary package 6 but it turn out not to include all the package 6 items, hence we made a lower offer. It also was not "Toyota Certified", just dealer certified which was of no value in Eugene Oregon. We also wanted a 2nd fob provided, and conditioned our final offer (of $17260) on the dealer providing that - They also are a Toyota dealer and could produce the fob inhouse. The Sales Manager flatly reject out offer because of the fob, saying they were already into the car for over $18,000. I don't think a dealer could could stay in business by advertising cars on craigslist for less then they supposedly have invested in it. I found it insulting to be lied to by the sales manager and would not recommend this particular dealership for that reason. Our salesman, Ron Lewis, ultimately saved the sale by negotiated this minor consession by the dealer (a second fob). As it turned out, the dealership had the second fob all along and just didn't track on it. Ron bird-dogged the mailing of the fob to us in Eugene and provided good follow-though on making sure we received it. So we liked our salesman, but are not so keen on the dealership itself. The other area were they could improve is in the paperwork. We had to wait around and do all this paperwork associated with a financing even though we were cash buyers - it we simply had been given a signed over title, as a private seller would do, we'd have our new registration, VIN # inspection, and new licence plate after a first and only visits to the DMV. Instead, we will have made 3 visits and will need to pay for a 2nd temporary permit while waiting for plates from the dealership - which we still need to birddog to make sure they mail them down to us when they arrive. In defense of the dealership, we did not have a casher's check in hand (not knowing who we'd be buying from, hence the bank wouldn't produce a blank casher's check) so perhaps credit checking and the paperwork was need before the car could be released while our personal check cleared.
