Finance manager insulted me and hung up on me I called Dave Smith on Saturday and had what might be one of the worst experiences I've ever had trying to buy a car. After talking with sale guy, whi I called Dave Smith on Saturday and had what might be one of the worst experiences I've ever had trying to buy a car. After talking with sale guy, which was largely a positive experience, he called back with the finance manager who proceeded to try and shove a payment down my throat for a vehicle I had never heard of. Some slight confusion, but not the end of the world. The payment was far above what I was looking to pay. They went back, found another truck which was exactly what I wanted. The payment was then higher than the previous truck. When I asked what the price of the truck was, the sales guy quoted me one price via email. While on the phone with the finance manager, I was trying to get the figures that went into the lease configuration so I could understand how they came up with the payment. The price was suddenly lower. When I tried to ask why the price changed, the finance manager continued to talk over me. When I spoke up (not yelling), and stated that we weren't going to get anywhere with him talking over me (something he did during both conversations), he told me I was too stupid to understand what a great price I was getting and then hung up on me. I've had a number of friends and family that have bought vehicles from Dave Smith. They were appalled to hear of my story and completely turned off from wanting to work with them in the future. More
Customer service? What's that? I dealt with Dan, Art and Lynn on the used card team. There are numerous issues that I have had with buying my 2015 RAM 3500. It was a used truck so I dealt with Dan, Art and Lynn on the used card team. There are numerous issues that I have had with buying my 2015 RAM 3500. It was a used truck so I didn't expect it to be perfect. I put a down payment on it 2 weeks before picking it up so they had plenty of time to go through it and fix any issues with the vehicle. Upon my first test drive I noticed that the truck pulled hard to the left. They put it in the dock and fixed the alignment while I was there. I also noticed that they center console was pretty chewed up so they agreed to pay me back $385 for that as well (never received the check a month later, only pictures of the stub). On the drive home, numerous check engine lights came on and I noticed that there was something loose under the truck and that it would pull hard to the left while braking. I got to Boise and took it to a shop to have it looked at. They found that the brakes were shot, the ABS line was just hanging down draped on the rear axle, that the air bags were just sitting on top of the axle not tightened down among other issues. There were so many issues that I called the used car manager Lynn. I let him know how disappointed that I was that he and his team put me and my son who came along in an unsafe vehicle. He got a little defensive and said that it was not unsafe but that they would take care of it. He said that his best mechanic was the one that looked at it. I got the truck back to Reno and brought it to a shop where it was worked on for 2 weeks. The brakes were replaced as well as rotors and calipers all had to be replaced, the air bag system was shot. The pump and manifold (which had a hole in it so it never worked) as well as one of the lines had to be replaced. There were numerous lights out all over the vehicle including a headlight. The computer had to be flashed (something I asked them to do before I picked it up). The tire pressure system is still not working properly and the rear window does not slide without assistance. The place I took it to could not diagnose those issues. The windshield had illegal tint on it (which I wasn’t worried about) but when I took it off, there were numerous cracks that you could not see with it on. That was $250 out of my pocket to have replaced. The total bill from the mechanic was just under 3k. Dave Smith paid that bill. I was appreciative of that, but when you buy a vehicle from a company like Dave Smith, you expect a little more than having to put my truck in the shop for the first 2 weeks and it’s still not totally right. I waited a month to write this review to see if I received the $385 check that they promised. I never got it and they have never followed up with me. Not once did I receive a call from their team, not Lynn, not Dan and not Art about how the truck was doing or if everything was alright. It was always me initiating the calls and trying to get them to do the right thing. At one point, I called to ask Art (the guy I dealt with on the purchase) if he could track down the check. He said he would ask Dan and then hung up the phone without ever asking for my number or saying goodbye. I have received emails from Dave Smith talking about retaining their #1 spot. It seems like that is what they are concerned with and not customer service. This was my 2nd truck from Dave Smith and I will not be going back. More

I received my notice from the County to come and get my plates after driving the 40 miles to the County seat they informed me that Dave Smith Motors had not sent the sales tax check that I paid in Kellog.so I drove back home with no plates .My temporary plate is almost up and still haven't got the check but I'm sure if I call them again that will be my mistake to. They don't make things right More

Great customer service We spoke with Seth Allen on the phone and online and finally on a long road trip stopped in to see him, with no appointment. He was fantastic. Had to order a new vehicle and has answered every question about it. We are adding 20K plus in options as well. Local dealerships would not touch the price. Seems like an odd business model to me so we bought from 1200 miles away! Even with transportation costs, Dave Smith still cheaper! Thanks guys. We highly recommend you all. More
