We needed a truck ASAP. Told Dave Smith salesperson, Elmer we had one on order with our local dealership but we wouldn’t have delivery for 10 weeks. Since we didn’t have a signed contract we had the option to shop around. Elmer promised us a truck in a couple of weeks, this was February 18, 2021. We applied for a loan and were approved on February 22nd. Then things got delayed. By April 1st we’d had enough and told Elmer we wanted to cancel. He had his sales manager, Cameron contact us. Cameron told us we couldn’t back out because the truck was with the shipper and on its way to us in California. I called the shipper and he didn’t have our truck in his possession yet, it was sitting in the dealership. The truck did finally arrive on April 2nd but we couldn’t register it as the bank hadn’t funded per Elmer. I contacted the bank and was informed we don’t have a loan because Dave Smith failed to return paperwork to them so the application expired on March 30th. I am in possession of a brand new truck that I didn’t purchase. The dealership won’t return my calls. Today is April 21st and we still have this 2021 Ram on our property that we never paid for. I find the employees at Dave Smith to be very rude and dishonest. I would love to figure out how to get out of this mess and get Dave Smith Motors and this truck out of my life! ! More
I looked at going to Dave smith for my new dodge. The sales staff were friendly until it’s their day off and they forget who you are. After three salespeople and three weeks I decided they didn’t have what I was really looking for. I wanted to be sure driving two trade in vehicles over a thousand miles and spending almost 70,000.00 on a new truck. When I asked them if they would return my deposit I haven’t heard back that was over two weeks ago. I have since heard back and was told my deposit would be returned. More
OK, have purchased three trucks from Dave Smith Motors over the years. A 3/4 ton diesel RAM, a Chevy 3/4 ton gas Silverado, and now a turbo diesel GMC Sierra 1/2 ton SLT. I live in Ore-gone and frankly wish I was closer to Kellogg for several reasons, not the least of which is the fact that you have to go a bit out of your way to get to Smith motors. I have purchased a number of trucks over the years having lived in the Portland area from other dealers but after doing so found the price and vehicle options were better at Smith even after buying a plane ticket and driving 500 miles home. They don't wear you out and BS you with what they might do on the deal. The cards are on the table from the start and although I liked some of the other dealers that are closer, no one else beat the deal on the truck i wanted. I made the mistake of driving to Carr Chevrolet in Portland to get a full on bait and switch tactic and walked out after being told the finance option was not really on the truck we had been talking about over 6 emails... (Never to return to Carr Chevy again for me!) Anyway, do your homework and shop around but don't leave Smith Motors out because of the distance, i have found they make it worth my while. Again i purchased a GMC truck not a Chrysler product but that option seems to not be available under the vehicle Make below so i have checked what will allow me to exit the form.. More
Tiny Winegar was my sale consultant and I must say I will go to him again to buy a vehicle. I stated to Tiny what I'm looking for in a truck and found me the truck I was looking for. He constantly kept me up go to him again to buy a vehicle. I stated to Tiny what I'm looking for in a truck and found me the truck I was looking for. I also gave Tiny my travel schedule, a shuttle picked me up at the hotel in Spokane, WA. once inside the dealership Tiny was there and had all the paperwork ready to go, he also helped with my uconnect system on my phone. Through the process it was relaxing and made me fill very welcome. It was the best experience I have ever had in buying a vehicle. One thing I want to say about Tiny he was always up front with me, his honestly and integrity was exceptional through the process. If you plan on buying a vehicle for the first time through Dave Smith, I HIGHLY recommend getting in touch with Tiny, This particular 2021 Ram 2500 heavy duty he sold me is the truck that will suit my needs. Evan Lewis , our Sales person went over and beyond his duties and found the exact Truck we wanted. Evan especially put up with my husband’s million questions and made sure we were completely satisfied and duties and found the exact Truck we wanted. JC (service) was a delight and also went over and beyond his duties keeping us updated as to where the truck was with preparing it for us. It was a pleasure to meet and work with both men and making our experience a delight!!!! I HIGHLY recommend this dealership with all your vehicle needs. Disappointed with sales-manager Cameron Mills and Salesman Jay Asbury. Both dropped the ball multiple times on our 2020 Ram 3500 purchase from the start..This is the 3rd RAM 3500 we've purchased from Salesman Jay Asbury. Both dropped the ball multiple times on our 2020 Ram 3500 purchase from the start..This is the 3rd RAM 3500 we've purchased from Dave Smith in the last 5 years. This was by far the worst experience hands down..We've had the truck for 3 weeks and still don't even have a window temp tag.. Zero communication from the start, constant excuses about phone service and email issues.. Vehicle showed up with finger prints and dirty rear carpet, charged an extra 150 for hand sealant.. Factory blue pen marks are still all over the body panels.. They didn't buff/seal/wax anything.. Botched addresses on paperwork, papers never sent out when they said.. If you're going to sell a truck with $87100 MSRP, you think they'd at-least follow thru with a little give a xxxx.. I believe they created a new email address for the RAM survey to be sent to, very odd situation.. More

I have called and emailed the salesman that I initially worked with (Price) and two managers (Willis and Colleen), and after more than a month and 10 attempts, still nothing. They also claim to be the best deal around, with prices "too low to list," but that's just advertising propaganda; they aren't a better deal than anywhere else, and the customer service is trash. Shop elsewhere. More
