Hi Chaston, We appreciate all reviews, and appreciate you giving us the chance to improve by providing us with this feedback. This was an error on our part, we neglected to put the cost of the bed liner in the final paperwork, although it was quoted in the price of the vehicle. We did try to collect on an item that you received, but did not pay for, to keep it from affecting our sales consultant. I’m sure he learned a valuable lesson with this deal. Our sales consultant was not made aware that you had already placed a special order with your local dealership. If that had been communicated to us in the beginning we would not have proceeded forward with this purchase commitment at our dealership. We fully understand what is behind a special order and would have respected that for the other dealership. Your vehicle did arrive at our dealership within the time frame that the manufacturer gave for the estimated time of arrival. You were very excited and knew exactly how everything was going. You requested accessories that were installed and applied. You contracted with a 3rd party transport company to have your new Ram 2500 delivered to your home in California. On March 30th you were very pleased, on April 1st you received a call from your local dealership letting you know that your special order came in early and then contacted us to back away from your purchase with our dealership. We have returned, signed paperwork and purchase order. We would definitely not have entered into this business transaction had we known you were pursuing a purchase from another dealership as well. It was a solid commitment to our dealership throughout the buying process, just as we had a solid commitment to you. Thank you for providing this information so we can improve upon our services. Sadly this company refuses to own up to their mistakes and choose to throw the blame on the customer. From the first day I contacted Elmer at Dave Smith I told him we had another truck on its way to Redding. We were never in a contract with the Redding dealership; no deposit was made and no papers were signed. I mentioned this more than once to Elmer. What the dealership failed to mention is that the reason for the long delay in shipping the vehicle to us is because they failed to submit the paperwork to the lender which caused the loan application to expire. This was 100% their fault. Once the truck arrived we could not register or drive it as it was not paid for and there was no loan. We insured it for three weeks while trying to fix this issue but Dave Smith refused to talk to us. What were we supposed to do? We had no choice but to return the truck to them. The cost for returning it was $1,000. We also paid a $500 refundable deposit and $80 to insure the truck while it was in our possession. All of which they are refusing to reimburse us. It is appalling that they treat their customers this way, let alone a disabled veteran and yes they had knowledge of that also.
