It was a relaxed and painless experience. I was not excited about the hour and a half drive in bad winter conditions but it was definitely worth it! Stayed in a local Hotel (That gave us a great "Dave Smith" Discount, had breakfast at the Hotel and prepared for a long boring day. We had to bring our 2 Dashhounds with us which we were a bit worried about knowing we would be there for awhile, but everyone was more than pet friendly ! Everything was explained thoroughly and moved from one piece to the next without any problems. We were treated to a great BBQ that afternoon before finishing up and heading down the road in our BIG, beautiful Dodge Ram 3500 !! A big thank you to our Salesman Frank Hyatt and the rest of the Dave Smith Team for making it a pleasurable experience !! More

For-Ev-Er Bought a used car (5 years old) from Dave Smith in Kellogg. Drove it for 5 or 6 months and the transmission went out. OK, well, at least we bought t Bought a used car (5 years old) from Dave Smith in Kellogg. Drove it for 5 or 6 months and the transmission went out. OK, well, at least we bought the used car warranty. Warranty company strongly recommended we take the car to the dealer we bought it from. Called to make an appointment to have it looked at. Soonest appointment I could get is 7 business days out. Not very good impression even though other Dodge dealerships in the area have a similar wait for service. Got the vehicle to the dealership and they were very quick to make a diagnosis. It then took 6 weeks to get the car back. Its like the Worlds largest Dodge dealership only has one transmission tech. The delay is blamed on Tech in training, holidays, illness, parts. Very difficult or impossible to get service desk to return a phone call. Not impressed. Employees are very nice, not rude. More

We had direct contact with eight employees and casual contact with many dozens of the happiest, most courteous people/employees we could ever ask to encounter. After saying that I hope 10 hours is not the normal amount of time it takes to buy a truck. Granted Shelly contacted me via email, then on the phone, and when I came at 11:00 am Thursday she wasn’t available and Chad paired us with Robert, things seemed to be going well. I had chosen a vehicle from Shelly’s recommendations and Robert went through the pricing, discounts and additions very clearly. All I asked him for was a free bottle of touch-up paint and a full tank of fuel, not too much for $60,000. He agreed and committed to that happening. Then came credit check, 30 minutes, maybe more. After all is a go, pause, maybe another 30 minutes, then to Jeff for a quick review of DEF and diesel break-in. Then another pause, then over to Mark for accessories, he does back flips while juggling bowling pins to accommodate most of my requests, all the while making us feel comfortable and attended to thoroughly. We told him we knew the accessories would take time and that we’d be back Saturday around noon to pick-up the truck. Then another pause, maybe an hour, by now we’ve been there nearly six hours. Finally Robert turns us over to Duke for the closing, financially? Thankfully Shelly called me Friday and walked me through the details and changes that Duke had overlooked before we had a meltdown. Shelly talked to Ruben and Ruben called and I discussed my issues with him. He thought deceit was not an appropriate description of Duke’s handling of the closing so I’ll settle for deliberate misinformation. Now explained, financially, we accepted the resolution. Saturday, 36 hours later, noon, here I am to pick-up the truck, Roberts not available but Shelly comes to the rescue. We meet with Ruben, twice, and I’m ready to take the truck home. Oh, the trucks not ready? It’s still at the tire shop, maybe another hour and it’ll be ready. Then the truck arrives, and the accessories aren’t correct, the work orders right so we don’t know why, send it back to the shop. Then I ask for the free touch-up paint, wrong department. Go to the right department and they don’t know anything about it. After some persuasion they agree to provide the paint and will deal with it later. Back to wait for the truck with Mark and ask where the spare key is? Unknown. I go back over to see Shelly and ask,” you don’t have the key, you don’t have a Dave Smith bag”? So Shelly says she has to go across the street and upstairs and she’d be back. We met her at Mark’s desk and she delivered. Now we’re just waiting for the truck again. Approximately 3 PM the truck comes back, now I’m good to go, say my thank yous and goodbyes and leave. Five miles down the highway I see an empty fuel tank. Mark is surprised to see me pull up back at his doors. Now Mark says everyone gets ½ fuel tank from Dodge, no one knows anything about Robert’s commitment to a full tank. Exhausted, seven hours Thursday, three or more Saturday, I’m leaving. I’m sure you can see the flaws in this comedy routine and Ruben appears to already have taken steps to correct one situation. We ran into Duke in the show room Saturday, eyes met, close enough to smell his mouthwash, and it was like the Ice Man cometh, no recognition whatsoever. The only time we were ignored, huh? I don’t know what caused the extensive idle delays but I’m sure there should be some kind of checklist if a situation like this arises to make sure every I is dotted and T crossed so all these things I had to ask for are handled automatically and professionally, additionally, there was no final walk-through to guarantee everything was as requested, odd. And now I’m home, I empty and inventory the truck and guess what, I’m missing accessories, because I didn’t check, and you didn’t. I’ll be calling when you’re open, you can ship them to my house! More
