We got a good deal on our new Dodge, the salesman was exceedingly pleasant. We live in a neighboring state and so my husband flew in to Spokane to take the Dave Smith shuttle and pick up the truck. He w exceedingly pleasant. We live in a neighboring state and so my husband flew in to Spokane to take the Dave Smith shuttle and pick up the truck. He was treated very well. We paid our state sales tax at the time of sale to have it wrapped into the loan. However, Dave Smith Motors has a business practice of sitting on sales tax until YOU phone them after the DMV has said they don't have the $ yet. I got 4 tons of lies and put offs from the business manager, Jeremy. My local DMV said that Dave Smith Motors has a habit of doing this - thus all of us customers making wasted trips and time to the DMV. I waited an hour just to be told I couldn't register my truck due to Dave Smith not having sent the money. I phoned Dave Smith Motors immediately as I only had 3 days left to register my vehicle- thus I gave Dave Smith Motors plenty of time to get the $ there. Jeremy, one of their business handlers, started with "[My name] I told you that before we send any money the loan had to be funded." Well the loan had been funded basically immediately as it came up on my B of A account instantly. And the tone of "I told you..." was as if he were talking to a child or trying to treat me in a diminutive manner. I pointed out the loan had been funded for weeks and that the DMV told me this is a habit with Dave Smith.... Jeremy kept the xxxxxxxxx coming. Since Dave Smith Motors is the largest Dodge dealership in the world and they're working on the same designation for GM it's easy to see how much interest is earned, or simply liquidity, held by them every month - that should have gone immediately and directly to whatever state the customer lives. I was looking to buy a used Dodge 2500 and found one online at Dave Smith. I tried getting a solid price over the phone before driving from Portland. After a few phone calls over a weeks time they assur online at Dave Smith. I tried getting a solid price over the phone before driving from Portland. After a few phone calls over a weeks time they assured me they would lose money if they lowered the price. I said to call me if that changed. I checked online a few days later and the price had dropped$1000. Never received a call. I finally decided to go look at it as I was pretty sure I was going to buy it. The salesman said they had moved it to another lot but he would meet me there around 6:00pm. He assured me that if I was running late on my 6 hour drive he would stay late to make a deal. I said ok and to call me if it sold or something came up. I drove the six hours and was 5 miles from the dealership when I got a call from the salesman saying they had moved the truck back to the other dealership and he was going home and to come back tomorrow. I couldn't believe it! I asked him if the truck had sold and he told (lectured) me no but I really should have put down a deposit before driving over. After a few choice words I hung up and called the dealership to talk to a manager. I was put on hold and never got to speak to anyone. I decided to start my 6 hour drive back to Portland. I tried the dealership a few more times and finally spoke to a manager who said to come back tomorrow. He was polite but I was already a few hours back towards Portland. I called back a few days later to get an explanation for the horrible service and having to waste $150 dollars in gas and 12 hours driving for nothing. I was told to contact Chris Rice. I left a message and sent an email. Never heard back from the guy until I called again a week later. He was no help. He ended up getting pretty mad after I didn't agree with him that it was my fault? Just my experience for what it's worth. I will be buying my truck in Portland. More
I had an issue with a new car I purchased from DSM. It involved the wrong paint color being ordered (just for the record there are 2 blacks for GM vehicles....Onyx and Carbon). Anyway the salesperson orde involved the wrong paint color being ordered (just for the record there are 2 blacks for GM vehicles....Onyx and Carbon). Anyway the salesperson ordered a carbon black and I had wanted a onyx black. The salesperson originally thought there was only one black option. I picked up my vehicle on a Saturday and the following Tuesday I found out that there was a onyx black available for 2011 GM vehicles. I was bummed out, because the carbon black was not as nice as the onyx. I asked for DSM to consider letting me return this vehicle for the proper color, because I had documented in emails my original request for an onyx black vehicle. I had already put about 600 miles on the new vehicle. I received a call from the GM as well as Ken Smith (DSM owner). They apologized for the issue and said they would order me the proper color vehicle from the factory to exchange for the vehicle I currently had. The part that really blew me away was that Ken told me to just keep the new car I was driving until my new car arrived from the factory, so I would not be inconvenienced at all. Their apology and generosity have made me a life long DSM customers. I have always known you could not beat their pricing, but now I know you cant beat their customer service either. They have created a raving fan! More
The entire experience was a Class Act. The salesman (Owen) was true to his word which honestly blew me away. I am not used to dealing with a dealership that actually does what they say they were going (Owen) was true to his word which honestly blew me away. I am not used to dealing with a dealership that actually does what they say they were going to do. Every employee I encountered had a great moral and the energy of this dealership was very impressive. Our deal had a couple hiccups when I arrived but nothing major and I was impressed with the overall service, savings and again that I was treated fairly. We will never buy from anyone else again! Thank you Owen and Norm your help getting us into a truck is appreciated more than you know! More

dents were not fixed as promised, one was attempted (they fixed the paint chip, but left the dent) scratches the length of my Yukon XL on the roof were not repaired. it took my wife calling Eric Smith (one fixed the paint chip, but left the dent) scratches the length of my Yukon XL on the roof were not repaired. it took my wife calling Eric Smith (one of the owners) after being told 4 times our vehicle had left (over 3 weeks), for our vehicle to leave their lot. when it arrived there were several defects they were supposed to fix which were not addressed.

after contacting their "Customer Relations Manager" and sending a quote for the needed repairs, they basically sent an email stating they were going to cut their loses. and blamed the auto transporter for the damage. I saw this vehicle and the dents and scratches are the same ones, or that transporter is very good at duplicating repaired damage.

I am disgusted to the point of making a Nice big sign for my windows to drive around Anchorage, to warn other Alaskans to STAY AWAY FROM DAVE SMITH MOTORS!!! THE SAVINGS IS COSTLY!!!! More
