Everyone is very friendly and professional in a very relaxed environment. We dealt with Gary McGowan as our sales rep. and he is simply the best. Jim in management, Lee in finance and Nancy the receptionist were all very pleasant and accomadating. An overall great purchasing experience, they all should be commended. More
Had a great first time Honda Lease experience. Jim, Joe and the entire Team at Darling's Honda did a great job with my wife and I. This was our first lease experience and everyone made the process Jim, Joe and the entire Team at Darling's Honda did a great job with my wife and I. This was our first lease experience and everyone made the process friendly and concise. We have no reservations about returning to this dealer when it comes time to turn in our current vehicle. There were two facets that really impressed us about Darling's Honda over other past experiences. One, they were very accommodating to our needs. Specifically, they communicated with us on our time, not theirs and in venues we preferred. Two, they were concise with expediting our transactions. We had already done what research we felt necessary to make an informed lease decision and simply move on. The entire Team did a nice job of balancing customer service and moving quickly in a way that made us feel like our time was being valued. Thanks Darling's and best regards to those reading this! He has a great sense of humor and really seems to care about his customers and getting the best for them. We will probably continue to be friends outside the car buying world. He helped me get a good trade in for my old vehicle so I could get the new car that I really wanted. Lee in Finance made things super easy and painless also. My last car lasted me many years and hopefully so will my new Accord. But when it comes time to purchase another vehicle, we will definitely be contacting Joe again. Thanks for everything! More

Poor Service Throughout Service Department Friendly and courteous staff, however Service Department falls very short of expectations, through all levels of rank. I'm not going to name names, be Friendly and courteous staff, however Service Department falls very short of expectations, through all levels of rank. I'm not going to name names, because this is not a personal attack. I have an issue with the way they conduct business. They do not listen to what the customer requests. Instead they just go off on their own. You won't know what to expect to pay when your vehicle is finished! I approved certain work be done on my vehicle. The bill came back more than double what I approved. That is just the start. I was left with, Sorry, that's just the way it works, the work has already been done- not verbatum, but to that effect after speaking to the Service Coordinator/ Writer. I believe that constitutes an oral agreement, and breach of said agreement to be illegal. My vehicle was towed there and I spoke with them on the phone. I was not able to sign anything or have them put it in writing at the time. Proof of incompetence and poor service #1. Did not listen to the customer. Did not attempt to see what could be done to resolve the issue. Cared only about the dollars made and not the customer or customer satisfaction. That destroys repeat business, and ultimately business. Example of incompetence #2 - was how long it took to diagnose why my car would start and stall. Multiple hours to tell that the timing had skipped. Bear in mind this is a Honda at a Honda dealership. With all the tools and diagnostics at their disposal, not to mention how many years of experience some of the techs with tenure must have, this is unjustifiable. I could have taken it to a no-name garage and I'm confident that the problem would have been found sooner. I wish that I had. But now I know and knowing will prevent me from making that mistake again. Hopefully it will help you too, because I recommend that you take your vehicle elsewhere. I will elaborate. Example of incompetence #3- after the problem was found and bear in mind, this was already over the time that was alotted, the tech adjusted the timing and got the car running. Failure to communicate with the customer. So more work that I did not approve was completed. I don't want you to think I feel it necessary to contact the customer at every step. However, I think, when you are over on the price that the customer said to stop at, then STOP. I had xxx amount of dollars that could be appropriated to this repair. This wasn't a blank check- "just fix it" deal. I'm an ordinary person living on a budget. The failure to communicate with the customer added unnecessary cost to this repair and I will explain why. The Service Coordinator called me to give me the news that the car was running again and thought I would be ecstatic. Quite the contrary. You wasted extra time re-timing my vehicle and putting it back together for me to drive away? You band-aided this, you did not fix the root problem! Obviously, if it skipped the timing in the first place, there is an issue. (i.e.- worn timing belt, timing belt tensioner failure...). So now you hand my car over with a hefty bill so I can drive it away and it can blow up 10 miles down the road when the timing belt lets go altogether? I tell them to replace the timing belt, tensioner, waterpump, etc. because I cannot drive the car risking blowing up the motor. So I got to pay the full price for that job in addition to the other work. In hindsight, I should have taken it elsewhere to have the remainder of the work performed. It was difficult to come up with the extra money for the additional repairs. That work was satisfactory although rushed. Now if they had called in the first place, and said, "You're timing is off, what step would you like to take next- re-assemble or replace and repair?" It would have saved a lot of time, money, and frustration. Example of incompetence #4- Failure to follow through, poor customer service. I contacted the Customer Service Department and the representative listened to my issue. She was polite, but politeness doesn't rectify my issue nor does it put money back in my pocket. She told me the Service Manager was out that day, but he would be calling me to talk about my issue(s) the following day. That never happened, I never got a call. They didn't follow through. Poor organization, lack of caring, issue dodging- there's no way to tell why that happened. That was the end of the line. I only leave the issue alone so that I can move onward with the knowledge gained from this experience. I highly recommend you consider an alternate service department for your service needs. This department is not dealership caliber. I have to say there are too many flaws with the department throughout for this to be coincidence. They failed to deliver professional service at so many steps along the way, but with a smile. More

I had not seen the vehicle, had not driven it, but had only outstanding things about it. If I purchased, it would be my 5th Nissan!! (First two were Datsuns, yeah, I go back a ways!) Joel was very helpful, and we scheduled an appointment for Saturday morning. After talking with others and thinking all night, I called Joel on Thursday morning and said I want it, can you deliver? Immediate answer, YES!!! Joel was leaving for the day to pick his daughter up who had been abroad at school. He put me in touch with Wayne who took care of everything else. Josh came in on the finance part. At 5pm that night, I was signing papers in my office at Machias Savings Bank in MACHIAS ~ these guys were true to their word and delivered the vehicle directly to me!!! Wayne went over everything with me, setup my bluetooth for my cell, showed all around the vehicle, etc. I am one happy camper!!! The vehicle is amazing. These guys were exceptional to work with. Saturday morning, I received a phone call from Joel ~ checking to see how everything went, apologizing for not being able to finish with me on Thursday and asking how I liked the car. HOW EXCEPTIONAL IS THAT??!! More
