Sneaky sales tactics. Ended up financing $5000 more than what I agreed to. Shame on me for not catching it when I signed docs. Not pleased but nothing to do other then post to caution you. Update: see what I agreed to. Shame on me for not catching it when I signed docs. Not pleased but nothing to do other then post to caution you. Update: seems that their responses are automated as nobody knows who you are supposed to be talking to after they tell you to contact them to hear about your review. Talked to “sales manager” who told me he would call me back. Never heard back from him. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. More
Less than 1 star I would not recommend Ford to anyone! They treated me with disrespect the entire time, wasted my time putting me in a vehicle I didn't want, and I chose the vehicle I wanted. The vehicle I walked away with has a broken catalytic converter and the sales person said they would fix it but they haven't. They added an extended warranty and wouldn't you know it, the warranty doesn't cover the exhaust system, even though the tags expire 12/2020 and we just bought it from them 4/2020. I won't be able to drive or renew my tags in 8 months when they expire because without the catalytic converter, it won't pass DEQ in the State pf Oregon. They harassed me to bring in a check dated 4/15 for my second part of the down payment, despite me telling them I can't write a check for 4/15 when I don't get paid until 4/16, kiting a check is illegal Ford! Then the finance company they chose, AFTER submitting my to 10 different companies who all hit my credit hard, they found the one that wanted additional hoops after accepting the loan, then rescinded the offer and stated they found a different loan company with less hoops and less money per month but the finance company demanded more! I'm never going back to damerow ford and I am certainly not telling anyone to go there. Funny thing, I had already bought from that same location twice with 1 paid off loan and 1 loan still open but in good standing, and the third time I guess they thought I was a bad customer so they needed to screw me. Damerow was very an excellent dealership to buy a new truck. They were patient as I changed my mind about my trade-in, asked tons of questions during financing. Buyer Beware First of all I have never written a bad review in my life, yet my experience at Damerow Ford certainly warrants one. The only positive remark I ca First of all I have never written a bad review in my life, yet my experience at Damerow Ford certainly warrants one. The only positive remark I can state is, my salesperson was polite. The sale was uncomfortable, and I fell for the OLDEST TRICK IN THE BOOK. I was low balled on my trade in, and was made to believe that their counter offer included a service contract, only to find out later after sitting down with financial that it was rolled up into loan, and my loan was extended into 84 months. I should of left, I knew I had been taken advantage of. I will admit, my trust and naivety also played a part in this. But it didn't end there. Their specs listed online on the vehicle were wrong. In fact the specs they have listed online on MY trade-in vehicle are wrong (buyer beware)!! I was also told, it included a tow package...nope. I have made them aware of this, but crickets. I have also let several folks know what I need, and how disappointed I have been with the service, more CRICKETS! It's been 19 days since the sale, and the financial paperwork isn't done YET! When I've been given information it's the wrong information... if I've been given any information at all. Unanswered emails, text, and messages. I'm pretty tolerant of people making "innocent" mistakes, but this is absolutely unacceptable, and the WORST service I have ever experienced. More
Just poor customer service I bought a truck from this dealership... I wanted a specific truck and they were the only dealer in the area that had it. The sales to me of the vehic I bought a truck from this dealership... I wanted a specific truck and they were the only dealer in the area that had it. The sales to me of the vehicle was good and the salesman was very helpful. The Service area is another story all together. The are slow and don't care about the customers. My brand new truck came back from them with scratches on both side panels between the windows/doors. I have never seen a dealership be so careless. They did a few other things poorly. Bottom line is if you need service go to another dealership. I went to Newburg Ford and they were great. More
Dishonest Scamming Service Dept Towed in 2012 Focus to have transmission serviced, suddenly would not shift into any drive gear only neutral or park. TCM module is widely know to do Towed in 2012 Focus to have transmission serviced, suddenly would not shift into any drive gear only neutral or park. TCM module is widely know to do this, service rep looked up VIN # and confirmed it is covered under warranty so I decided to take it there. So far so good but that was end of professionalism. Refused to perform the diagnostics on the TCM module, claiming they couldn't unless I first agreed to pay $500 for a new battery and cables. Said battery fails performance tests needs immediate replacement and cables have severe corrosion, TCM tests cannot be done until these are fixed. I refused solely based on ridiculously high cost, knew I could buy new parts plus tow it twice for far less money. I tow it home, remove battery its only 20 months old and volt meter checks at 12.4, little low but far from failing. Took it to another shop with load tester its good @ 84% charge, couple hours on charger now 100%. Surface corrosion on cables easily cleaned both cables are great shape. Car had no signs of low battery, this model has Fords battery lifetime management system which would disable radio and other nonessential stuff if it detected battery issues. Bottom line they lied about battery, lied about cables, lied about not being able to test TCM, just wanted a bunch of easy money to offset cost of warranty repair. More
Average---Old School Car Dealership I personally had a solid salesperson that I was dealing with, but their overall process was less than desirable. I am not going to tank them, but be c I personally had a solid salesperson that I was dealing with, but their overall process was less than desirable. I am not going to tank them, but be completely honest. Two stars is "Meh. I have experienced better." and yes, I have. The problem lies with the old school banter back and forth between the showroom, the central office, and the finance manager. There is definitely an old-school car dealer process. I felt manipulated, pushed, led astray in the process. What is quoted from the floor to the finance office should be honored. Period. Getting something in writing, signing, and "initialing" hand-written sentences from the showroom floor does not reflect the final process. Once you finally make it there, to hear contradicting information from the head financier is not good business practice---nor is it good business practice for the lead financier to tell you that "he doesn't know why they told you what they told you" (what you signed to in the showroom) in the car-dealing process. Yes, I got a call from the new sales manager--he offered to make/keep me happy, but what more can they really do? Go back to the paperwork that I initialed in the showroom? (Yes, I suggest you take a picture of all of that before he walks away). At this stage of the game? Throw me about $1000 in accessories INSTALLED? Maybe that MIGHT simmer my situation. Otherwise, do your homework before you go in there. Don't get trapped in the whirlwind of deception. Listen carefully to every salesperson, listen carefully to your financier, take notes, use your calculator. When your salesperson brings in a more seasoned guy to assist in "sealing the deal," listen to his words carefully. When you initial that hand crafted little hand-written document, take a picture and keep it for your records. Take more notes. Listen to the words of your financier. I heard many questionable things there on all levels. Yes, they sell Fords and virtually ANY Ford Dealer can get you the exact car you want. But from my last few experiences in buying cars (which were FAR less hassle), I have to say that I have experienced WAY better. More
The way a dealership should be ran! Alvin greeted us with a smile, and was happy to hear our needs. He recommended cars within our budget, and was an excellent help.
