Poor scheduling on Toyota's part I brought my car in for 20K service. I also told them on the phone I needed an oil change as well as having my heated seats and USB charger fixed, bot I brought my car in for 20K service. I also told them on the phone I needed an oil change as well as having my heated seats and USB charger fixed, both had stopped working on my car before it was one year old. I told her they should have the last 2 items in my file from when I brought it in over the summer. She found it in my records and I asked her to be sure to add the heated seat and USB fix. She assured me she did and made my appointment. I dropped off my RAV4 at 7 a.m. to be left for the day for an 8:15 a.m. appointment. When I cam to pick up the car after 2:30 p.m. It had not even been started yet. This, come to find out, was only because the envelope with my keys had been stuck in the key drop off box. However, WHY WASN'T I CONTACTED WHEN MY CAR WAS NOT THERE AS SCHEDULED? OR WHY DIDN'T ANYONE QUESTION THE RAV4 THAT WAS PARKED RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE SERVICE DOORS FOR ALMOST 8 HOURS?? Thus, I had to wait 2 hours when I came after work to pick it up. When I inquired why it still wasn't ready from an 8:15 appointment and asked when it would be ready, they informed me that they could not work on the heated seats. They told me that they contract out for the heated seats so I would need to come back another day to get them fixed. I was speechless.. I reminded her that I was told they could have worked on my usb and heated seats when I brought my car in over the summer but I could not stay that long. I also reminded her that they then told me it would be written in my file that the seats needed to get fixed. AND told the woman over the phone who scheduled my maintenance check that my seats needed to be fixed and asked if that was in my file. She said it was.. At no time was I ever told that I would have to schedule the seat fix for a day that the contractor's were there. Why????? I would have scheduled everything at once on the day the seats could be fixed. I am extremely frustrated and unhappy with your service department. A worker there apologized and told me she would call me on Saturday to let me know which day they were coming and would schedule me then to get the heated seats fixed. I was very appreciative. However, no one ever called me again. I would not recommend this service department to anyone and am appalled by the unprofessionalism at DCH Toyota. Unfortunately, I have to call AGAIN so that I have working heated seats on my 1 year old car. If this ever gets fixed, I am left with no choice but to get my car serviced elsewhere once my warranty runs out. More
