Mrs. Soules, I'm sorry to hear of your experience. I did look into this concern for you and found the problem was twofold. First we are unable to communicate with the sensors for your tire pressure monitoring system, second we had to remove the wheels break down the tires from the wheels only to discover they've all been replaced with aftermarket sensors that do not communicate with the factory module. Later we learned from your receipt that Mavis replaced some of these sensors during your tire replacement. The diagnosis that was performed was correct the sensors didn't communicate that we verified their the wrong sensors. At that point you elected to take it back to where they were damaged in the first place. Essentially the repair is replacing all four sensors with the factory sensors. Again I'm sorry for all the confusion I hope this helps. Thank you, Ben

Hi Ben, So you stated above that ‘aftermarket sensors do not communicate with the factory module.’ You’re stating that as a fact and as that is always the case. Well I called on the phone in the first place and explained the sensors were changed. I came in to your advisor and explained the sensors were changed. So you did not learn they were changed after breaking down my tires. If you knew all along aftermarket sensors do not communicate why would you take my money to diagnose something that seems to be a fact. And for the record the ‘diagnosis’ you stated above is not what I was told. I was told that my aftermarket sensors supposedly had no serial numbers and therefore you couldn’t help me. It seems as if I could have been told on the phone when I called that Toyota’s require only factory sensors to communicate with the system rather than bringing me in for $150 and actually you wanted to charge me $350 for the labor of removing the tires. Also, after taking my car for a third opinion the next day, my system now is working with aftermarket sensors... strange because you said I needed factory sensors. Even stranger your technician never offered to sell me factory sensors which I find ironic if that was indeed the only solution. So to answer your question, no that does not clear up any confusion. It leaves me more confused..

Darsan, We are very sorry your experience has not been great so early on on your new car purchase. Unfortunately things do happen from time to time even with brand new vehicles. Toyota was aware of the concern and we were able to fix it, again unfortunately it took us a couple of times because the issue was intermittent. As I spoke to you the other day about the part that came in it was already installed, the special order ticket wasn't pulled. There was some more confusion there and again I'm sorry for that. When you reached out to me looking for compensation for your time I explained to you some typical scenarios that Toyota has done in the past for customers who have experienced concerns early on in ownership. Nothing was promised. Recognizing they didn't have to do anything I was able to get them to reimburse you an entire month's car payment. I will work with the sales team to find out more about the remote start. You have all my contact info so if anything else comes up please don't hesitate to call. Thank you, Ben
