My salesman was excellent, the price was right, I was buying from out of state, I was counting on being told the truth about my car. I was told it had an exhaust leak and that the mechanic checked it out buying from out of state, I was counting on being told the truth about my car. I was told it had an exhaust leak and that the mechanic checked it out but couldn't pin point it and the dealership would not fix it but helped me with the price $150. When I picked the car up and had it checked out, the main motor mount and transmission mounts were both broken and a danger to driving($600)! I had been told this mechanic had the car on the rack twice and it had an exhaust leak, I was either lied to by Crown Acura or they need to fire the mechanic. I understood buying an as is car, but I did expect to be told the truth and I did not get the truth from this dealership. More
Chris was wonderful from the moment we walked into the dealership to test drive a car. He was not pushy at all, but definitely tried to close the deal! Probably just caught Crown Acura on a bad day given the good ratings, but while the price of the car we wanted to buy was acceptable, Crown dropped our trade-in value $500. The short version goes like this: (1) On Friday, February 25th we sat directly across from Rich Morris who said Crown would honor the trade-in value they previously gave us and we left asking Rich to send us numbers on the car that reflected the trade-in value so we could see the tax benefit. (2) While we never got the numbers, that night, we decided we wanted to go forward with the purchase and would be purchasing the car the next day. (2) On Saturday, February 26th we contacted Rich by e-mail again asking for the numbers. Rich responded as follows - "Hi guys hope you enjoyed the wedding, you have the price I gave you on the TL and we can now give you $13000 on your trade, at this time the price of trucks are dropping daily, on top of the price we have 597 dealer fee plus tax and about 125 tag transfer, let me know if you would like to reserve the car. Thanks RICH" (3) Rich had mentioned falling truck prices the day before but reassured us Crown would honor the price. Yet, less than 24 hours later Rich tells us something completely opposite to what he stated to us in person. (4) We indicate our disappointed to Rich regarding the way Rich handled this. Quite frankly, it felt like we got involved in some "game playing" on Crown's part. Rich later responded that Crown will go ahead and honor the original trade-in value again but at that point the damage was done. (5) After cooling off for 15 minutes, we decide to call another dealer instead of Crown and we offered to purchase the same exact car at the price we had already agreed was acceptable. Five minutes later owned a new TL. No hard feelings towards Crown really, as we got the vehicle we wanted. Crown just lost the sale. Crown's price was acceptable, but the flip flop and games really left us feeling like Crown didn't deserve our business. We've both professionals and didn't have time for the games once we decided to pull the trigger on the purchase at a fair price. We didn't experience any game playing at the other dealer and the process was quick and one of our easiest purchases yet. We are still in the market for an MDX and will certainly keep Crown on our list of shopping options we remember that there may be some game playing when it's time to buy the car. I'd say we are still confused as to why Rich would try the last second price drop when his whole presentation is about going to bat for a customer due to his long tenure at Crown, but any confusion has been washed away after 1 week of driving a new TL. Awesome car so far. We'll see you in the near future Crown when we purchase our MDX, but please, keep the games our of our transaction or we'll just be buying elsewhere again. Good price - bad customer service sums up our experience. More
I've been taking my car to Crown Acura for about five years. In that time John and the rest of the serive staff have treated me with respect and have taken great care of my 1999 Integra.
