The salesman was great to work with, after finding the vehicle on line, from 400 miles away in Colorado. These guys were great, and special kudos to Steve in sales, for all his assistance. Nice guy! I would not hesitate to deal with Courtesy if I was looking for a car or truck.. More
Dishonesty not Courtesy I saw nice looking 2010 Subaru Forester 2.5x Special edition come in the inventory at $13995 w/ about 40000 miles . A nice car to say the least. List I saw nice looking 2010 Subaru Forester 2.5x Special edition come in the inventory at $13995 w/ about 40000 miles . A nice car to say the least. Listed on Carguru and many other sites. "Cole", the sales rep I was directed to via phone stated he would get me pictures as they placed a stock photo. Text me in 15 min with pics. About 50 min later, I call back. I'm told the car is not in the Dealership it is in Texas awaiting the return of the owner as they are snow birds. They are trading the SUV off for a new Subie. They will be on Saturday. I told him I would like to look at it and motivated & would likely come over today to see if I will fit in it. I explained I did not want to miss an opportunity at this car as my last dealings with "Courtesy ", I was undercut by a sales rep whom the sold car I had him set aside & was waiting till my bank check was transferred. They sold that Outback within 1/2 hr of my leaving the dealership. They never called me.. I called them that Monday and was told they sold it. BURNED ME HOT! I bought a car in Jackson Hole instead as they had car in the year I was going to buy in Rapid City. We were borrowing cars since my previous was totaled by a deer. He said he understood would not let that happen again. Since the car was not here and in TX he would call me when it arrived. I thanked him and then used my day off the next day to come see other Foresters to check fit. So we arrive 12.14.2016 We find Cole and look at another 2010 and like the fit. We go and we talk about the previous issue. I have limited time to come over and have travel 70 miles one way, weather issue with coming winter storm, etc.. He becomes pushy about money. He tries to get me to push numbers. I told him I want to see the car and he then tells me, I can put down a deposit on the car. (Putting a deposit on car they don't have. ) NO , I tell him go ahead run the numbers and see what we come up with. Trade in what's owed etc.. (The dealership franchise owner is walking back and forth behind us. ) I know that when he began pushing me to buy the car now and get a deposit I was getting fired up, he kept saying well if someone comes in Saturday after it's here and they have money they will buy it. (They dont even have the car) He comes back with number. Not obscene. But, low and behold says the owner lives in Rapid City is in town and works at the local hospital. It has some slight hail damage. She was waiting for the Subaru she is trading for to be accessorized and will be in Saturday. 1. You lied about the ownership (Old Snowbirds vs working gal) 2. You lied about condition. ( hail damaged)! 3. You don't even have the car, she is driving her car around racking miles. Meanwhile Carfax and others say you have the car and title. 4. You attempt to bully me in leaving a deposit so I won't lose out on opportunity to see the car. ( I don't take threats and you got that in my tone of voice). 5. It is illegal in SD to sell cars you have no ownership of, also lets see about false advertising. Apparently it is common practice in Courtesy Subaru as based on others on Google reviews and experiences, that they will sell right from underneath a buyer despite any paperwork. They are very deceitful in sales from Top manager to floor. I hold both "Cole" and his Bosses accountable for lying, decietful, underhanded, sneaky sales. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE CAR YOU SHOULD NOT BE SELLING IT -that would have saved your reputation. DISHONESTY -- NOT COURTESY should be your business name. I called the Owner and she was polite and only apologetic. I told her the situation. She agrees that it should not be for sale if they dont have the car. She says it should be that way. But, she reaffirmed her staff by stating that we won't hold a car without deposit. I again reiterated that you can't place deposit on something you don't have. I told her the dishonesty of ownership, condition, and the bullying tactics are inexcusable and due to this I will not bring my Subie back to their business for repairs, service, nor recalls. I will drive elsewhere and do my business elsewhere. I told her that Travis in service is always awesome and vehicle service has always been honest. I am bit concerned the lying will go down to service and therefore we are done. She said she wishes for us be a part of the Subaru family in Rapid, I said I as well, but this was it. She made no attempt to remedy the situation. Do the right thing!! Fix your business model, because of one customer is unhappy/ angry, etc .. They will tell 20 of their friends and now with social media this is world wide. I love Subarus. I hate the way Courtesy Subaru treats clients and potential clients. You will have effectively lost at this point my future cash money for service, repairs, or new/ used purchase. Honesty is always the best policy! Shame on you. More

Courtesy Subaru advised replacing the head gasket, and also replacing nearly everything else in the engine. I expected my beloved Subaru to go over 200,000 miles after all this work! However, less than 24 hours after picking up the car, and less than 500 miles, the engine overheated in Montana. I was deeply disappointed and stranded with my 5 year old son. Courtesy Subaru took no responsibility and would not negotiate with me on the $3,000+ repair bill, and on top of it was extremely unresponsive in even returning calls. If you can't trust a Subaru Dealership to repair your Subaru, who can you trust? More

Even though they new I was not committed to buying another Subaru, they did everything possible to get me the right car for me. I immediately got a more than fair price for my trade-in and decent price for my new (used) car, and it made the whole experience much more enjoyable. They even went so far as to recover the backseat headrests from the previous owners after I had purchased the vehicle. Thank you so much for the pleasant experience! Especially to Steve Borchert for being a great salesman! More
Be careful when you trade in a vehicle with them We traded in a 2009 Ford F-150 and after sending numerous pictures we got a fair price for our trade. We found a 2013 Subaru Legacy we liked and work We traded in a 2009 Ford F-150 and after sending numerous pictures we got a fair price for our trade. We found a 2013 Subaru Legacy we liked and worked out a deal and got our new car. Afterwords however, we received multiple calls asking if we had the old tires for our truck which we did. We were then asked to drive the 2 hours to Rapid to bring them which we did. Our old vehicle still had the old tires on it, they wouldn't fit in our vehicle. The staff treated us rudely and were disrespectful to us after we went out of our way to bring them our old tires. We finally did get the new tires in our vehicle and left the dealership unhappy. The next day I received another call asking if I had another set of tires for the truck I had traded in. Very unprofessional and I would find a different dealership to purchase from in the future. We love the car we got, but the experience was something I wouldn't want any one else to go through. More
OUR EXPERIENCE: We are expecting our first baby and OUR EXPERIENCE: We are expecting our first baby and naturally needed to find a new car to fit our growing family. We started our research right awa OUR EXPERIENCE: We are expecting our first baby and naturally needed to find a new car to fit our growing family. We started our research right away even though we wouldn't have the funds for a few months. We were really leaning towards a Subaru due to top safety reviews and they're AWD. My fiancee had popped in the store without my knowledge once to ask some questions and see what he could afford to get in. The salesperson that he had been talking to that day was Steven Myers and he had no problem helping him and answering any of his questions though my fiancee didn't know when he'd be back. About 7 weeks later we were ready to purchase our new car. The first place we went was Courtesy Subaru. Originally we were interested in the Subaru Outback after ruling out the new Impreza and Crosstrek due to space. We also have a Great Dane and a Border Collie along with a baby on the way so we needed more space. After driving the Outback my fiancee was convinced that that was what we wanted but I was curious about the Forester. In the Forester we lost a minimal about of space in length in the back cargo area but because it is a taller vehicle it felt less claustrophobic in the front and back seats. So it was decided we were 99% sure we were getting the new 2014 Subaru Forester but we still didn't leave with a car that day. We did "look" around at other lots just to make sure the Subaru Forester was what we wanted. Its a big purchase and we wanted to be sure. We did end up test driving one other car, the GMC Terrain at Granite Automotive and got HORRIBLE service. We will NEVER return there. It was decided then we were getting a Subaru Forester from Courtesty Subaru and we knew exactly which one after browsing their website. We decided we wanted to 2014 Forester XT so the very next night we returned to the store. My fiancee didn't get off work until 530PM and so we didn't arrive at Courtesy until a little after 6PM. They close at 7PM and we didn't make an appointment. That was NO PROBLEM at all. Steve was WONDERFUL as always and helped us as soon as he could. It was a lengthy process with paper work. It took a couple hours before we were out of there but no one seemed troubled by staying late. Steve and Jackie (Financing) were amazing and so patient and made our car buying experience a pleasure and stress free. I couldn't be happier with our new Forester and our new friends at Courtesy Subaru. I would highly recommend them to anyone searching for a new car and I would highly recommend a Subaru! ALSO - We put our Subaru through the ultimate winter test. My fiancee drove it from Sturgis, SD to Gillette, WY on the interstate at 3am through a foot of FRESH snow (no other tracks) and they were closing the interstate behind him at every exit. IT MADE IT! No problem. He came home later that evening and told him he absolutely without a doubt trusts sending his loved ones out in that car even in the worst conditions. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Customer service was absolutely wonderful as mentioned above! QUALITY OF WORK: I rated quality of work a 4 out of 5 because they did a good job at tinting our windows and installing our remote start but whoever detailed the car did a poor job. I still have the sticky stuff left from their stickers on the inside of my windshield. They really should have cleaned that up and I'm going to have them remove that hopefully at our 3000 mile oil change. We did just spend $30,000 on a new car from them and they should have a done a better job at detailing our new car for us. Other than that everything was great! FRIENDLINESS: Everyone we have spoken to has been very friendly and welcoming. As for our salesperson, Steve, he was a complete joy. He wasn't that pushy "car salesman". He was more like a really good friend, there to answer all our questions and also VERY honest. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: Of course I give them 5 out of 5! This whole experience was a joy. We loved working with them so much that when my fiancee buys a new truck in a couple years (he wants a GMC) we will NOT be going to Granite Automotive but to Courtesy Subaru and see if they can pick one up and we can buy from them! PRICE: Subarus are priced soooooo well. I feel like you get a lot for your money. I will say after looking at other cars they are lacking in all the cool technological "gadgets" BUT the more fancy gadgets you have the more problems or things you have to fix or replace. Subaru doesn't dump they time and money into fancy gadgets you shouldn't be playing with while driving anyway. They build very sound and safe cars. I could have went a bought that GMC Terrainn or a Chevy Equinox but I honestly got a headache from the confusion of buttons all over the center dash and all the sensors for everything. Not my cup of tea. I'd rather have a well made vehicle that's going to last. I gave a 4 of 5 rating on price because of course the price is never LOW enough! But really the price is actually very good for a brand new sport utility car. OVERALL: Thank you Courtesy Subaru! We WILL be back! More
