Courtesy Subaru quoted me $959 for my 30K warranty check on a 2024 Outback XT that I purchased from Courtesy. I called twice, my wife called once, they would not quote the warranty check alone. I made an appointment with Schwab Subaru in Denver as I previously purchased an Outback from them. Schwab scheduled me to provide a no cost 30K warranty check and sign off. My wife called the Sales Manager at Courtesy who intervened and they performed the 30K warranty check with one of two free oil changes I had not yet used. I will never take the car to them for anything but warranty work and only if I am forced to. My wife and I are old and they tried to take advantage of us in my opinion and from my point of view. I am selling the Subaru and getting a Toyota, Menholt Toyota has been fantastic with my Tacoma and has never charged for any warranty inspection. There was no pre-service walk around at Courtesy, there was no post service explanation of what they may or may not have found. I am in Rapid City and Courtesy is the only Subaru dealer. Since I plan on living here another five years or so I am selling the Subaru. Treat me like a revenue unit once, shame on you. Treat me like a revenue unit twice, shame on me. Toyota has at least always treated me with respect and never tried to take advantage of me. More
I live 100 miles from the Subaru dealer in Rapid City, SD. I left my car there for repair and I was aware, as I drove back the 100 miles, that the car was not repaired. After I got home, I called the Se SD. I left my car there for repair and I was aware, as I drove back the 100 miles, that the car was not repaired. After I got home, I called the Service Manager at the dealership and explained what had happened. He sent a man with a loaner (the 100 miles), left the loaner, picked up my car had it driven back the 100 miles, repaired my car, returned it to me AND made an allowance on the repair costs. I call that "The Subaru Difference". I don't believe any other dealer would have gone to that measure to make me satisfied. That was Courtesy Subara in Rapid City, SD. If they don't deserve a Five-Star rating, then no on does. More
I entered a 5 star rating for the following reasons. This is a far cry from dealers and sales staff I had worked with in the past. You see I have had 43 years experience in the auto industry prior to my purchase and am really impressed by Courtesy Subaru ! More
I happily became a Subaru owner (2024 Ascent) this year as I’ve always wanted to be one. I’ve always held Subaru’s to a higher standard as a whole. The VA Subaru dealer I got my Subaru from was so outstanding. I came in with that same expectation to be depleted the moment I walked in. Courtesy’s Service department only has two friendly people. I’ve gone in twice for service. first time for an oil change and first time customer here was just ok. Only one person even smiled or welcomed me. The second visit was for a part replacement that went from a day to taking 3 weeks. Not their fault. Yes they were courteous and offered a 2025 Subaru Outback for me to drive while I waited. That rental looked like someone lived in it with dog hair all over, smooshed food crumbs all over the back seat. I was saddened how dirty it was for a 2025. Made me think, if this is how they treat this car, how are they treating my car?! I went and washed and vacuumed it right away as I was embarrassed to have anyone in it. I also filled the tank, washed and vacuumed it the day I brought it back. I go in to retrieve my Assent, to find my car dirty outside and blue distinct markings on both my front seats. There car wash was broken…. The happy service member who helped me tried to scrub it off after I complained sadly. I have the white/cream seats. No luck. They are replacing both bottom seats with no charge, which is great, but the level of excellence and trust is very questionable. More
