My husband and I purchased a 2018 outlander sport from Tom at Courtesy Mitsubishi 3/2022, within months I brought it to be serviced expressing concerns about the transmission. I brought it in 5 occasions stating that the transmission was slipping, not running properly. I was told that I had a special transmission, by the service man ( who no longer works there) along with other associates who reassured me (each time) yes it was designed differently but they checked it thoroughly for my peace of mind. As they laughed making me feel like I knew nothing. I then dreaded getting my serviced. I even went into the showroom and asked Tom if I had something to worry about with my transmission but he reassured me that they were well trained mechanics. I brought it in in December because my transmission light came on and it was not running properly again. I spoke with Dan who was professional and courteous. I told him I had complained about my transmission repeatedly to the other service man who lied to me. Dan said not to worry as he would get me a loaner car. Unfortunately it was Friday right before closing and the only rental loner car had headlights so dim that I panicked because I had an hour drive to get home and they were closing soon. I drove the rental loaner car down the side road and brought it right back saying I couldn’t possibly drive it because I would surely get in an accident. I was alone and I said I need to take my car because I can’t be stuck here. Dan was concerned but I was upset because I was put in a situation that should have been avoided, I told Dan I would make another appointment. Dan called me the following Monday asking if I was ok and how my car drove. I explained that I would bring it back as the light went off but I needed it serviced or replaced… Dan agreed and said he would personally make sure something was done and I had a safe car to drive home. I was given a rental loaner car. I called to see how my car was coming along and Dan said he said yes my car definitely has a bad transmission as iI stated on many occasions and he would personally speak with Steve in Management because it seemed my extended warranty had recently ran out. As we both said I had been there for my transition many times before the warranty ran out and it was too close to not honor it. He had gone over all my repair tickets and talked to Steve in management. He was told by Steve that they would not honor the warranty… He apologized as I believe he knew It was wrong. I went to return loaner car and speak with Steve, again. I asked Steve about trading my car in as I didn’t feel my car would ever really be safe or dependable and w no warranty I knew I needed to be proactive. I couldn’t believe Steve reacted as he was informed that I was deceived by his company repeatedly saying warranty is out and that was that… He refused to have a conversation about it…. Stated I could buy a car but I need a down payment because I no longer had a car to trade in. I did explain that I was not happy and my husband would be angry. My husband and I are filing with different agencies as I believe this was deliberate and deceptive as warranty work isn’t financially profitable and pushing another car w a high profit is the only concern.
