Mrs/Ms Correa, Courtesy would love to have been able to repair your transmission for you. Unfortunately it was out by both time and mileage by both: the extended warranty (DLP) (86,681 Miles or 3Yrs) & by Mitsubishi Manufacturers' warranty (5Yrs or 60,000 Miles). The Courtesy Team attempted to contact the extended warranty company (DLP) and have them review it for Goodwill. Courtesy does not have the ability to authorize or approve a claim, only to submit on the Customers' behalf. The claim was ultimately declined by the warranty company (Dealer Loyalty Protection). While reviewing your vehicle history, it was noticed that certain maintenance recommendations, which include a transmission service, had been declined in the past. According to your history, it looks like you have a daily, long, distance commute because you are putting around 20,000 miles a year on the vehicle; the average person does around 12,000 miles a year. The vehicle should also have been coming in every 5,000 miles or 6 months, but we have several lapses in your maintenance visits with us. That being said, Courtesy is looking into seeing if any assistance for repair at a discounted rate is available. Our Team at Courtesy is always trying to work with our customers to help as much as we can. If you want to trade out of the car, absolutely, as is your choice. We would love to sell you a new vehicle, as we would all our customers. However, as we stated to you, it is the bank that makes the final decision, but again, we are more than willing to try for our Guests!
