I repeatedly asked to see what bank approved us and the terms of the loan, they would not show me. I was told the Finance Manager called in a “favor” to get us a great rate. I bought my truck from ED, and while he was great during the sales process, my experience afterward has been terrible. I drove away in a 2012 truck with 45k miles that looked new. However, halfway home, it the sales process, my experience afterward has been terrible. I drove away in a 2012 truck with 45k miles that looked new. However, halfway home, it threw three codes: a bad sensor and a bad DEF tank. The dealership had clearly blanked out the codes before selling it to me—they reappeared within 30 minutes of driving. I cleared them twice, and they returned 30 minutes each time. The dealership claimed they did a "thorough inspection," but there’s no way these issues weren’t present before I drove just 30 miles. They took the truck back to check it and then tried to charge me $875 for fully covered repairs under the bumper-to-bumper warranty they sold me, including a $500 deductible. They documented on my bill that they had to clean out a rat's nest in the engine compartment and replace two lightbulbs, including a taillight—issues that should have been caught during their inspection. This "thorough inspection" was a joke. I’ve had the truck 3 days so far. The billing department claimed I was told I’d have to pay $600 for diagnostics, even though I provided proof in writing from the service department on their letterhead that I wasn’t responsible for any diagnosis fees, even if I decided not to have the repairs completed by them. The warranty explicitly covers the repairs; their service department came out with a bill for 75.00 and said the sales dept covered the rest, and 2 days later, they started threatening me unless I paid more than the $500.00 deductible. But they refused to honor it without trying to squeeze more money out of me. They failed, and I paid the $500.00. I called the warranty company and informed them Corwin Ford is charging me more for the work covered under the warranty. The Warranty people said Corwin violated the contract between them and Corwin Ford. I have provided all the documentation to them. In total, Corwin Ford charged almost $3,000 for repairs that should’ve cost $1,200 and should have been completed before they sold me the truck. It’s clear they’re more interested in making money on everything they can, even at the cost of their customers. I have all the documents to back this up, and I’m putting together a website to expose their practices. Stay tuned for the launch of CorwinRipoff .com. This is my opinion, and I have documents, emails, and text to prove it. Lastly, after getting my truck back from them, I noticed the Spedodometer was not working anymore. Im not taking it back, so they can charge me 500.00 more to fix it. More
