a LOT of dog food in the engine bay that they did not clean. This food was next to the battery, windshield wiper fluid, and a few other areas. My first thought was, if they did all the maintenance and fluid changes they claimed how did they not notice and clean the dog food. I checked the windshield wiper fluid was almost empty, not a big deal and could have been forgotten but with the other things started to seem off. I checked the vehicles computer and it said less than 40% oil life. Again, could have been forgotten for them to reset but there is so many things. Also there was not a sticker put in the window for the type of oil they used. I decided to check the oil myself and struggled to find oil on it. I brought all of this up to the salesperson who said he knew that they did everything and to not worry. I ended up having a mechanic come and check the oil before I drove it because I didn’t trust them. The mechanic could not tell for sure if it had been changed or not but did let me know there was enough oil that I was okay to drive the vehicle. The next interaction was when the headrest arrived. I agreed on a time to come into the dealership to have it put in and I wanted to ask about the auto shut off. I had done the googling they recommended and found that on my specific model there is not any way to shut off that “feature” without an aftermarket part. I found one online that plugs into the computer online for $400. I wanted to see what the salesperson and the mechanic would say when I played dumb and ask how to do that. When the salesperson greeted me, I asked him about shutting off that feature and he started watching videos on his phone about this. When we got into the garage where the mechanic was they came over and gave me the headrest and told me I could take it home and put it in. I said that I wanted them to do it so I did not break anything and because I did not know if I would have the tools needed. They were obviously annoyed by my request and so the salesperson tried to do it. He asked me for help and I could not figure it out. He asked the mechanic who made it very clear how stupid he thought we were and that genius could not figure it out. Long story short after mocking me they had to look it up online and needed a tool that I do not own in order to get the old headrest out. I then asked them about the auto engine shut off. After they both went through my entertainment system in car and searched for a button and could not find anything their solution was “Go to Gateway as they know Chevys.” I would understand this if it was some small dealership that does not have connections. Corwin bragged to us about how many vehicles their location sells compared to the others and how good they are but they are not knowledgeable about their vehicles. This is where I started to become even more annoyed after all the other issues. I pushed back on this and the salesperson told me he would contact GM and ask. After a few days of not hearing anything I reached out to ask for an update. I was told what I already knew, that this was not possible without after market parts. I expected an apology for the mistake in telling me that, but that never came and I was treated disrespectfully for questioning the almighty Corwin salesperson. Because of this response I asked if this was going to be purchased by Corwin or if I would be refunded the cost of the part. The salesperson told me that this was not a possibility and that they do not offer after market parts. I then asked the salesperson if this was a decision their manager made or if this was their decision and was told that it was. And then two sentences later tried to transfer me to their parts department to purchase this from them. Also as I was replying that I would not purchase that part from them the manager started calling my father who was with me purchasing in the vehicle and tried to get him to tell me off and made jokes to my dad that I was dumb for wanting to get rid of a feature that saves fuel and is all around great. Anyone that thinks that is delusional or haven’t driven a bad auto shut off vehicle. I explained that I was not happy with this as the part was over $400. The salesperson claimed that they were available for less than $20. I asked him to send me the link to one of these parts. He sent me three different links to parts in that price range that does have that effect, but none of them worked on my make, model, or year of blazer. I pointed this out and the clown of a salesperson said “He was not a mechanic and did not know the difference.” My question is, does he know how to read? Because the title and descriptions all clearly said which vehicles it worked on and mine was not one. The manager that spoke with my dad told him that they would buy the $20 part for me to make it right. This seemed fishy to me and so I did some research. The part they wanted to buy was so cheap because it was installed in the engine bay and would void my drivetrain warranty on my vehicle. The part that I found that was $400 would not void the warranty according to what I found online. I explained this to the salesperson and for some reason I trusted him to contact GM to find out if that is true or not. He came back to me and said GM confirmed they would both void my warranty. Believing this I decided to just take the L on this whole thing. I ended up having multiple major issues with the vehicle that I needed to have fixed. After my experience at Corwin I took my vehicle to Gateway like they recommended. Gateway was respectful and fixed my issues. I also asked them about the auto shut off and the different after market parts. The service advisor did not know and said he would ask GM. Long story short, Corwin lied again. The part that I found would not have voided my warranty and the one they wanted to give me would have. So it is clear to me now that they knew clear and well that the more expensive part would not void my warranty and would have corrected the issue but they wanted to be cheap. I also believe that this was their attempt to sort of stick it back in my face by voiding my warranty in the process since I hassled them. Corwin, Gama the salesperson, and the managers have had multiple months and chances to just admit their mistakes and apologized. If they had done that whenever they realized what was probably an honest mistake I would have been okay with it. Instead, they treated me disrespectfully and talked down to me and go to a parent, lied and attempted to gaslit me, treated my time and property disrespectfully, and all around was terrible to work with. I can say with 100% certainty that Corwin will not receive any future business from my family and I want everyone to know to avoid Corwin if you do not want to risk being taken advantage of and treated poorly while giving them large amounts of money.
