The service rep Rudy was very friendly and tried his best to assuage our discontent over the reason for the needed service appointment. We had a 9 AM appointment on a Friday because the tailgate on our 2015 to assuage our discontent over the reason for the needed service appointment. We had a 9 AM appointment on a Friday because the tailgate on our 2015 Ford Edge would not open. Not having heard anything, I called at 3:30 only to learn that the electronic diagnosis had started only an hour and a half earlier. At that point they could not find the problem as to why the tailgate would not open. I was assured that the technician working on the car would be in on Saturday to continue the process so agreed to leave the car there, On Saturday when I called I was informed that the technician had not come in. Finally on Monday at about noon I received a call that they had found the problem and we would need a new latch and motor combo for the tailgate. Total cost with diagnosis would be about $750. I realize that the basic problem is not Colonial's fault, but I find it ridiculous that it costs $750 to be able to open the tailgate. There should be a manual override, both for convenience and safety. I consider this a design flaw on the part of Ford. The vehicle is useless as an SUV if you cannot open the tailgate, so we really had no choice but to authorize the repair. We finally got the car back on Tuesday morning. The service rep is friendly, but I cannot give my usual 5 stars because of the length of time it took to repair the car, leaving us without the car, and the fact that a tailgate should be able to be opened manually! More
All went well....had 1st appointment arrangement.... However..."wear mask mandate" which is an automatic requirement virtually everywhere in these times, wasn't being followed by your e arrangement.... However..."wear mask mandate" which is an automatic requirement virtually everywhere in these times, wasn't being followed by your employees arriving for work thru the customer waiting room...and, the one other customer who joined me in the waiting room during the time I was there did not wear a mask the entire time....and wasn't approached to do so.
