We started with the old school method of pounding the pavement from dealership to dealership test driving cars. I knew I wanted something comparable to what we had which was in the mid size class while my husband was more concerned with getting a decent price. After test driving and sitting down with many salesmen and their various car selling styles, we came home with headaches to regroup. We had decided on the Hyundai Sonata. Once we knew exactly what we wanted with trim level, options, and color, it was time to get a price we’d be happy with. We filled out forms online to get quotes from local dealerships and contacted a few on our own. I spent the next two days fielding calls and emails only to be told their price was the best price they could give us and when I compared it against the other offers, it really wasn’t by much, maybe $100 or so. I even had a sales manager call me where we did one of our test drives sell me on a lower price (probably hoping to get us in the door again to high pressure sell us) but later in the conversation, I discovered that he had taken off the options package to give me that price even though I had made it VERY clear what it was we were looking for. Then something surprising happened, after a couple of email exchanges about the car we wanted and the price point we were looking at that none of the other dealerships would come close to, I got a call from David Lee at the College Park Hyundai Dealership. In just under 10 minutes of talking to him on the phone, he gave me an offer even my husband had been convinced (based on what other dealerships told us) we would never get! I was almost in disbelief at how headache free that phone call was. David was attentive to our needs and gave me no BS on the phone. He was straight forward and gave me the sense that he wasn’t out to cheat us or play the usual bait and switch dealers games. Maybe if I was persistent enough with other dealerships and gone 5 rounds of haggling, I MAY have gotten close to the offer that David Lee gave us right away, but who really has time or energy for that? We weren’t looking for a sales guy to wear us down with their sales antics and for us to jump through hoops just to get a half way decent deal. We wanted the experience as painless as possible and not feel like we were told one thing but at the end were given something else. A lot of salesman will say they want to “earn our business” but in turn, they force us to have to work at getting a few hundred dollars off with lots of stress and haggling back and forth. I’m not sure how that’s earning our business when we have to do all this work. David Lee gave us the bottom line, out the door price we were looking for without any hassle or stress. I had my husband call him to confirm the price and he got the same sense about David Lee being an honest guy and what we got quoted on the phone was what we will get once we made the long trek down to College Park from Baltimore City during rush hour traffic. When we got to the dealership, David Lee already had the car we wanted parked out front ready for us to take it for a spin to make sure everything is to our liking. David Lee was friendly, likeable, and knowledgeable. He went over what we had discussed on the phone and got the paperwork rolling. Within 3 hours, we were done and out the door in our new car! I couldn’t believe it, I was thinking we’d be there at least 4 hours, I remember back in the day where buying a car means you’re in the dealership all day. Granted we did have our financing set up with our credit union but the rest of the process went so smoothly and everyone at the dealership was very nice. At the end, my husband looked at me and said, “THAT was pretty painless”, to which I replied, “I KNOW, it’s almost unbelievable, we can go to dinner earlier than I’d hoped with our new car!” My brother just started the car buying/browsing process, I’ve already told him about my experience with David Lee and the College Park Hyundai dealership. I highly recommend David Lee if you’re on the market for a Hyundai. The college park location wasn’t even one of the ones we had looked into initially since it’s not local to us but it was worth it to get a very decent price without haggling and wonderful customer service to boot. The car buying experience would be a lot more pleasurable if all salesmen would conduct themselves with such integrity and straight forwardness as David Lee had shown us. David worked for three weeks to locate the car I wanted at the price we agreed to up front. He went out of his way to locate the car at an out of state dealership and have it driven to College Park for me. Despite Hyundai cars being in high demand, he didn’t waiver on our agreed to price. David made the back end of our deal as helpful as everything beforehand by making sure I understood how to operate the key features of my new vehicle. He even took the time to make sure my Bluetooth phone was correctly paired up to the car. Thanks very much to David and his team at College Park Hyundai - they’ve gained a new loyal customer. More

I am in the military so when I used USAA for their car buying service, Ralph called me the next morning. I told him I was heading to the dealership in 2 hours and he stopped what he was doing (working from home) and came right in to meet with me and my wife. We were trading in two cars which we owed a few thousand more then they were worth. After Ralph showed us around the Sante Fe and after we went for a test drive it was time to talk numbers. I really felt like Ralph was on my side in the negotiating process and I went back and forth with the sales manager who really wanted my business even though he may have pretended otherwise. College Park was the first and only dealership I went to that day and I insisted on getting a good deal in order to not shop around. Normally, I would have shopped around more but my wife and I were driving our two trade in vehicles and they paid them both off and we received $1k below sticker and a REALLY low interest rate. My advice is do your homework, settle on a price you think is fair and leave if they don't get you there. I say this because I have confidence in College Park in getting you the deal you want and deserve, especially when it comes to trade-ins. Additionally, I did not get the full warranty as USAA offered it for over half price, so shop around before committing at the dealership. More

We did online internet research and knew we wanted to purchase the Santa Fe. We built the vehicle on line so that we had an idea of how much it would be. About half-hour after we did that, we got a call from Ralph Brown & his associate from College Park to see when we would be coming to the dealership. We did not respond but decided to go directly there the next day which was Sunday. We asked for Ralph since he was the one who called us. He was amazing to work with. He listened to what we wanted, advised us of the varying price ranges based on the options we wanted. We test drove the base, to high-end model of the Santa Fe Sport. He kept repeating that we would not need to go anywhere else because he was going to give us a deal that no one else could match. My husband and I were skeptical but we listened to him, and then we started to buy in and then we trusted him. There is so much more we could say about Ralph Brown, but the most important thing is that he didn't just talk a good game. He truly delivered what he promised! Wouldn't of believed it if we hadn't experienced it first hand. Big Thanks you to him and the Manager at College Park for finding the car we wanted, with everything we asked for, and more. We couldn't be happier with our purchase, Ralph is the ultimate professional, and explained the entire process from start to finish so we could understand all of our options. It only took 3 hours from start to finish that day. We picked up our new car that next day on Memorial day! It was a great experience. I came to College Park Hyundai because Renee Cameron contacted me promptly and followed-up to arrange a time to visit the showroom. When I arrived, Marcus Kess met me and arranged for the test drive. In addition, Marcus demonstrated exceptional knowledge about the vehicle and was able to answer all of my questions. Although the dealer did not have my preferred color in stock, Marcus presented several offers related to another vehice in stock the seemed reasonable and met my needs. Because of his professionalism, Marcus was able to guided me seamlessly through the purchase process without stress or contention. The purchase of my Vehicle from College Park has been one of the more pleasant car buying experiences I have ever had. That must be attributed the the courtesy, professionalism, and product knowledge demonstrated by both Renee and Marcus. The customer focus and follow-up exhibited by Marcus and Renee have been exceptional. They have listened, responded promptly, and addressed all of my concerns. Sympathetic Selling I intended to look, not buy, when I dropped in at College Park Hyundai to see whether they had a small wagon I wanted. A friendly salesman greeted me, asked for my interest, and guided me to one of the last Hyundai Tourings made, a 2011 upscale model with low mileage and a clean appearance. The car was "overloaded" for my need and priced accordingly, but pleasant bargaining with the salesman, Mike Isadi, and with his manager got the price down almost to the NADA number. Unexpectedly, I bought the car. Mike expressed his kindness by getting me an additional key and remote. (The car came with but one.) Paperwork was fast and efficient. And best for me, Mike had one of his associates drive the car to my home 5 miles away gratis. When I found a front tire leaking air a month later, this dealership went out of its way to get it on a lift quickly, pull a nail, and repair the hole, all gratis and with a smile. Our goal was to purchase a car by October 31, 2013 to take advantage of Hyundai financing deals that ended Halloween night. On Halloween, I was making my final calls to dealers we previously spoke with to get the best price and somehow ended-up on College Park Hyundai's website. There was some language on their site that they were being very aggressive to close the month out and to give them the opportunity to win our business.. Hyundai of College Park wasn't one of the dealers we had previously spoke with, primarily because they aren't particularly close to us, but I figured it may be worth a phone call and I also remembered a family friend had recommended College Park Hyundai. My initial conversation was with a woman who made it clear that they needed to sell five more cars to exceed their goal and they would give us a fair deal if we gave them the opportunity. I gave her my contact info and shortly thereafter, was called by David Lee, who is part of their internet sales group. My initial impression of David was that he was very courteous, grounded, appreciated that I took the time to contact them and really wanted to earn my business. We discussed what I was looking for, the price I believed to be fair for the Sonata and quotes I had received from other dealers. After some checking, he called back to provide me with a quote and to tell me he unfortunately didn't have the car on his lot, but would be able to locate one. His quote was more than fair and I agreed to the price discussed assuming he could locate the car. We arrived at College Park Hyundai around 8:00 pm on Halloween night to close the deal. David was very welcoming and we continued the conversation. David was still looking for inventory from other dealers, as the particular color and trim package we wanted was becoming more challenging to find on a 2013. He happened to have a demo of the car we wanted and presented us with an attractive price, but we really wanted new. He subsequently located the car we wanted and we purchased the car that evening(albeit, keeping David and others well past closing time - not that anyone at CP Hyundai was complaining). David Lee was a pleasure to do business with. His is a very courteous guy, with a great deal of integrity, listens to what your needs are and sincerely wants to help you find a car that makes sense for you. No pressure or games, but rather an honest, ethical approach to doing business. It is clear that David wants you to be pleased not only with the car you desire, but also wants you to be satisfied with the process of buying a car from him. He listens, knows his products well, has great follow-up, offers solutions and is easy to talk with. Everyone we came in contact with at College Park Hyundai was very pleasant and engaging....again, a very happy experience and a simple and easy process. In the thirty-five years I've been an automobile consumer, by far, this was the best car buying experience I've had.
