Unsatisfied customer On October, 05, 2019, I purchased a 2019 Optima Ex from Coastal Kia. I did not have the car a week and malfunctions started to pop up on my dashboard On October, 05, 2019, I purchased a 2019 Optima Ex from Coastal Kia. I did not have the car a week and malfunctions started to pop up on my dashboard screen repeatedly. The vehicle would immediately dial for help and read it was sending my location out or it would tell me to contact a Kia technician. I took pictures of these different screen alerts. I dropped my car off to Coastal Kia to have it looked at and they said they could not find anything wrong. They said the car is safe to drive. I picked up the car and drove it around for a few more weeks and the screen alerts started happening again plus the car was not idling properly. Dropped it off to Kia once again. Picked up the car and they told me again they could not find anything wrong electronically with the car. They did however find an idle problem and corrected it. They said it was safe to drive. Drove the car some more and the entire dash lit up malfunctioning and the automatic collision brakes deployed causing my car to abruptly to stop. This is without another car in sight of mine. Took pictures of the dashboard. Dropped the car off to Kia. This time they told me it was a bad clutch in the Alternator that was causing my car to do these things. They said the car is safe to drive. Picked up the car again. They informed me it was safe to drive. Drove the car and the collision brakes deployed again with nothing in sight of me once again. Dropped the car off to Kia again. After a long period of time they again told me they could not find anything wrong and that Kia said if they can not replicate the problem there is nothing they can do. They informed me the car was safe to drive. Picked the car up and drove it two miles and the brake system activated again, the entire dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, notifying me everything was wrong. The screen lit up telling me I had multiple conditions going on with my vehicle, that I need to get it to a KIA dealership. I drove the vehicle right back to the dealership with all the lights engaged on the dashboard and the screen. They hooked the computer up to the car immediately and retrieved error codes. Coastal Kia has had my vehicle for over a month on and off to try and correct these dangerous problems. On Tuesday, April 28, 2020, they told me to come pick up the vehicle. I arrived at the dealership and asked to speak to Pat Koballa. Pat sent Peggy his assistant out to talk to me. Peggy listened to my concerns about my family's and my safety in driving this dangerous vehicle. Peggy suggested I should get out of the vehicle and in to a new one. She also said they would work to make this better for me. I was told by the salesman that he can get me into a 2020 Optima for the same payment I have now with nothing down. I told him that would be great, that I feel unsafe driving a vehicle that the brakes deploy when they feel like it. I test drove a 2020 SE Optima. When I came back to the Sales floor my payment would be $600 a month with an additional $1500 down. My payment now is $367 a month. I asked him about what he had told me about keeping my same payment. He said, " I said I might be able to get you in a 2020 for that payment". Then they sent a floor manager to talk to me who said this was not the dealers problem and that if I took an 84 month payment it almost comes to my current monthly payment. They refused to fix this problem without charging me any additional money. I walked out. I have owned 4 Kia's over the years with my last two purchased from Pat Koballa's Coastal Kia. In addition I have personally referred 5 people who purchased cars from Pat's dealership. My son wanted to buy a new Kia in the next two months. We will no longer buy a car from Coastal Kia nor will I ever refer my friends again. Pat Koballa you have lost a customer. More

Tires Had scheduled tires to be replaced on my 2015 Optima a few days before my appointment had a flat. I contacted Coastal Kia Service and they were more Had scheduled tires to be replaced on my 2015 Optima a few days before my appointment had a flat. I contacted Coastal Kia Service and they were more than accommodating. They replaced the tire with one of the new ones and advised I could pay for it when I had the others done in a few days, I returned for my scheduled appointment service was prompt and completed well of allocated time. Entire staff was professional and courteous. Bob Tomlin and Howard Ramsey could not have been more helpful. If you need your car serviced I highly recommend Coastal Kia More

My "new to me" 2013 Sorento broke down and needed a new engine. It was a Saturday afternoon and AAA towed it to the service department. Monday I got a call about what needed to happen. I was given a rental engine. It was a Saturday afternoon and AAA towed it to the service department. Monday I got a call about what needed to happen. I was given a rental car and was told it would be ready the following week. By Wednesday the same week, my car was done. A few things got repaired/replaced and mostly under warranty. The process was quick and fairly painless. When it came time to return the rental car I was told I could leave it at the dealership. Even easier! Both KIA and Hertz were amazing in the situation.
