Lied to, given no discount, tried to sell me useless part I was kept standing in the garage for almost ten minutes for a scheduled appointment. The service rep took my coupon but did not give me the discount I was kept standing in the garage for almost ten minutes for a scheduled appointment. The service rep took my coupon but did not give me the discount. I challenged him and he lied saying it was included. It wasn't as I have had the same service done there before. The rep tried to sell me a useless part for $490. After six years, I can no longer trust this dealership and their shady service rep. More

They've lost their "customer service" experience Our whole family have been loyal customers of Clearwater of Toyota for an amazing 8 years (total of 4 vehicles – my wife, mine, mom and daughter). Bec Our whole family have been loyal customers of Clearwater of Toyota for an amazing 8 years (total of 4 vehicles – my wife, mine, mom and daughter). Because we valued them (past tense) so much, at the end of 2016, we bought two new vehicles (at the same time) for my wife and I. Up till 6 months ago, we have absolutely adored their customer service and attentiveness to customers. If “word of mouth” is the best type of promotion, we've been their strongest advocates. Their "of service" attitude WAS second to none (stressing WAS)! In the last 6 months, customer service has taken a plunge. When bringing a vehicle in for service, the new customer service experience and attitude consistently received is "choppy" and "Stoppy". Nearly every conversation starts with the grimacing statement of, "that's not covered under warranty", "you'll have to pay for that because we aren't", etc. It’s almost like their front-end service guys are parroting that management won’t pay a single dime more to do… “whatever”. In the past, their “can do” attitude has been, “we can help”, “we’ll figure it out”, “we will do”. This morning, I had a revisit on a problem of a “knocking noise” emanating from my windshield/dashboard area. I explained the issue to the phone attendant, and was asked to come in to get it resolved (which I love this type of “can do attitude”) . Upon arriving, the service guy immediately dove into his new spiel of “this isn’t covered…” and began (what felt) interrogating me on “who said to bring it in”. I told him the lady on the phone whom I’d made the appointment with. He retorted with “if you don’t know her name, I can’t help you”. I went on to tell him the problem began shortly after I bought the truck (Tacoma), that I had brought it in a year ago to get this issue taken care of. The service guy (again) veered back into his interrogation asking “who said to bring it in?” (at that point, I was confused – was he asking who made today’s appointment or who did I speak to a year ago). 3-4 months ago, we brought our new 4Runner in to get some paint touched up (we had a ridiculous number of paint dings). In short, this particular experience was far much more painful than todays. We requested managers and the GM to call us to resolve the customer service issues (no calls, no messages). At the end of the day, the most surprising and ridiculous part of this whole experience was, the paint repairs literally cost $250 – barely nothing. It wasn’t even worth all the ridiculous and extra drama they splattered all over this. I don’t know about you’all, the money isn’t the biggest issue. For us, it’s the time-suck, extra drama and absolutely disrespect given to me as a customer. We have spent upwards near $200,000 with this dealership. We do not appreciate, and hope this changes before we get sufficiently fed up and take our business elsewhere. We’ve very disappointment. I certainly hope Toyota of Clearwater returns to their “Of service” ways. More
