At first things were going well, I dropped my car off and waited for them to do my first service for 10,000 miles, everything went well and I went on my way, a few week later my engine light comes on and I t waited for them to do my first service for 10,000 miles, everything went well and I went on my way, a few week later my engine light comes on and I take it back to find what was going wrong with my engine.this time I dropped my car off, so I waited for hours initially with no call back, I had to continuously call for any updates. I finally call again before they close and was told they would need it another day or so to see what was wrong. The next day no call so I called again and got the same response, they need another day. Finally they call me to come in and get my car, they said that there was a software issue and that vw would send an update when it was available, also they changed my plate holders as if I purchased one of their cars. I recently took it back to the dealer of purchase and within 15 minutes they found that it was a broken valve and ordered the part. I mentioned that City VW said I needed a software update and they told me there was nothing in the service bulletin or in VW recall system that warranty or even mentioned a software update for my car. My vehicle is finally fixed and although the service customer service guy was very friendly the communication and honesty just were complete let downs. More

We have been Autobarn of Evanston customers since 2012 and as such remained when the dealership was taken over by City VW. Since the changeover I have patronized City VW of Evanston two times. I went in to get help putting Add Blue into my diesel Golf Sport Wagon. I was greeted kindly by Oscar when I first arrived, then again when I first spoke to Brayner and moments later when I explained my needs to Terrence, who is always a gentleman. I didn't have an appointment and they were quite busy, however Terrence arranged for the car to be washed and the Add Blue added with a smile. Oscar handled the wash and left it to be attended to by Moe who personally explained the best way to put in the Add Blue and then proceeded to check the Add Blue line in my engine without being asked, and all of this for no charge. While waiting I spoke with Ian in sales about an issue my daughter was having with a car purchased in Indiana, who then took the matter to Brent in the finance department. Not only did Brent take the time to gather info from me so he could try to help, he also offered to look at the paperwork if I chose to bring it to him the same day (which I did). Every single person from the moment I entered the dealership that day until I left for the second time was courteous, professional, and genuinely helpful and pleasant. My eldest daughter will be in the market for a replacement VW this year and we will definitely begin the process with City VW of Evanston. More
WAY way too much "too big to fail attitude" in the service and parts dept. NEVER have I seen such inefficient scheduling methods, that go along with placing customers on extended holds to check for service and parts dept. Then, when you can not reach the "parts" extension and do leave a message, no one calls you back. I am in shock that this is the "system". What in the world are they thinking?!?: All along with irritated tone, interrupting manner, and generally acting as if they are doing me a favor to even be on the phone. On top of it, quoted me 100 dollars more than both the Glenview and HP location for that some tire replacement -I can not even... They are closer to us, but we are not going there for service on this car ever. Horrible vibe! The best is to avoid them. More
