Car that smells like a ashtray I found a 2016 Honda accord for a good price! My daughter and I along with a young man that works for me, made the 3 hour drive to Chicago. We got to the dealership and saw the car, and really liked it. We got in the car and we both noticed it smelled like cigarette smoke. My mother died of lung cancer and my daughter has asthma! My moms car smelled exactly like the car you guys sold me! When I called and asked about the vehicle I asked if it was a smokers car and was told no! When the salesman got in the car with us to do the test drive, I asked him immediately if the car had been smoked in and He said No Sir it has not! I will tell you this, I would not of drove all the way there and bought this vehicle in a million years if I had known it was a smokers car! I noticed when we got home, the next day in the light, there are two cigarette burns in the from driver seat! I would of left the car and not purchased it but my ride had already left. So there is my experience for you! I own a small business and we have survived almost 73 years, and most of our customers are return customers or referrals . When people are driving from other states the information online needs to be accurate and for god sakes when someone asks if a car has been smoked in, tell the truth! Maybe offer to clean it or something , handle it with integrity! More

I've been getting my cars from Autobarn Evanston since The five stars are for the dealership as a whole, but especially for salesperson Mario Grbavac. I've been getting my cars from Autobarn Evanston since 2000 and with one exception (not worth dwelling on, because that salesperson is gone and management at the time worked in good faith to clean up his mess) I've had a consistently good experience. Even so, I was considering moving on from VW when my current lease expired. I was looking for a compact SUV and there are a lot of great ones on the market right now. I stayed with VW and with Autobarn almost entirely because of the fantastic, straightforward, thoughtful service I got from Mario. Two years ago, when I was unhappy halfway through my last lease, he sat down with me and went over ALL my options, including bailing on the lease, taking the penalty, and leaving the dealership altogether. He ran the numbers for me and carefully walked me through my options without trying to persuade me to go with one over the others. I ended up finishing up the lease and staying with VW because Mario checked in with me months before it was up, met with me several times before I made my decision, again went over options in a way that felt transparent and straightforward, and got me into the Tiguan SE of my dreams. I am so excited about this car, which has everything I wanted and more than I hoped for, and am glad to have worked with Mario again. More
