I had several inquiries with Ford dealer only competitors involved on the internet side of the business. Mark Schmaling responded quickly, other Ford dealers responded in a reasonable time frame, but not a involved on the internet side of the business. I had questions and Mark responded quickly (defined as a period of several hours). We communicated back and forth a number of times (maybe 10-12 Q/A sessions). Other Ford dealers in the general area went to this tactic - "when you decide what you want-come in, test drive, and we will make the price right for you." I had already decided on what I wanted for options and vehicles to 80% assurance level, and I had a few questions. I wanted more competitive pricing and I only received e-mails from Mark Schmaling. Perhaps Ford Corporate is funneling potential buyers into a defined pathway that ignores competitive pricing from dealers within a 25 mile radius. Is this buyers defining Ford sales, or Ford defining where they want the buyers to come from? My experience with the Finance Manager Britt was very good. There was an option that I added to the vehicle purchase (glass protection). Time will tell if this option was a valued added investment since I drive my vehicles to the point of dead. If Ford vehicles cannot stand as purchased and compete with Toyota and Honda with exact costs of repairs and maintenance then Ford should direct more of their focus on the R&D needed to get competitive with Japan and Korea. Make the point of origin on the sale the first focus and additional warranties a bonus that fear disaster. I feel that Britt did this, because I send No to all additional warranty offers and that made me feel comfortable. I have owned Japanese made cars on new vehicle purchases for over thirty years (Toyota, Honda, and Nissan). I have done business as a consultant (employed by an engineering firm) with Ford, GM, Nissan, and Buick on environmental regulations as well as manufacturing operations at manufacturing facilities. I have watched the improvement in US manufacturing operations over time. This time for a new vehicle purchase I selected a Ford vehicle. Please do not let me down on my belief that America has recovered lost ground in reliability. I know what to expect from Japanese manufactured vehicles regarding reliability. Consumer Reports rates the 2012 Focus as below average reliability. I hope that will not be the case since I am an American and want to see America grow. This is the first opportunity in over 30 years that I see that America can offer a very competitive automobile to the American consumer at a price that cannot be differentiated from a Japanese competitor. My personal issues are noise (vehicle or road noise), safety, and energy efficiency and the 2012 Focus meets my personal requirements. More

The Service I received at Ditschman was far superior to that for any other car I have ever bought. I was referred to the owner Steve Kalifer by a relative. I left him a message late on a Saturday and he returned my call within 24 hours. I explained to him the trouble I was having and he said he could help. I was 250 miles from home visiting my mom in the hospital. I had been shopping for a car before going to visit her so, I thought I could finish the process while visiting. Steve asked me lots of questions and listened to my answers. He referred me to his sales manager, Jim O'Brien. We were able to get a deal put together in two days. Unfortunately, Jim was off the day I needed to pick up the car. Jim passed the ball, seemlessly to Tom Santangelo. Tom dealt with me like he was the first person I talked with. He walked me through every aspect of the car and took to time to connect my phone and download its phone book. He even took the time to help me create my sync account online. Britt made the financing paperwork simple and smooth. I will make my next purchase from them also, even though they are 3 1/2 hours away. I will also refer anyone to them. They are worth the trip.
