Mr. Gregory was polite, knowledge and repectful! It was close to my home. They were willing and able to work with me. Took to time explain and answered all of my question. Dishonest - not true certified vehicles We went to look at a used 2015 "CERTIFIED" Sienna on 1/2/2020. It was priced below average and had just under 69K miles on it, with a clean car fax (v We went to look at a used 2015 "CERTIFIED" Sienna on 1/2/2020. It was priced below average and had just under 69K miles on it, with a clean car fax (vin #5TDKK3DC7FS589496). On paper this looked like a great deal. It was a rainy day so it was hard to see the dings and scratches in the car and windshield. It also made it hard to inspect everything that I would normally want to check because we were getting soaked. The first thing we noticed that was wrong was a large scratch on the back bumper on the passenger side. We were told it was too big and deep to be fixed without repainting the whole vehicle and that this did not prevent the vehicle from being certified. The van drove nice and handled well. The next thing we noticed that was not right before purchasing it was the passenger window on the driver’s side sputtered and didn't roll down completely. They assured me this would be fixed, which it was 2 hrs later. Finally we negotiated and purchased the vehicle. But low and behold there was another problem they only had 1 key, we were told it had 2 keys; again they were going to fix this and make a new key but it was near closing and the guy who makes the keys had gone home. We asked if they could call a dealership closer to us to have the key made so we didn't have to drive over 1.5 hours one way to have them make another key on a different day. They worked it out with Robinson Toyota in Jackson, TN to do this. So we paid and drove home that night. (1/3/2020) My wife took the vehicle to Robinson Toyota to make the key and they informed her that the key she had been given was not a master key (it was a valet key) and it was going to cost more to make a master key and program it then Chuck Hutton had told us. Robinson Toyota also informed her that a certified vehicle has to have 2 master keys and they didn't know how Chuck Hutton had certified this vehicle. 3 hours later she drove home with 1 master key. My wife also noticed when she got home that she could not remove the 8th seat in the center row. When I found out that evening I was very upset I watched numerous YouTube videos showing the easy of removing this seat, but it would not release. (1/4/2020) I called Chuck Hutton and told them I wasn't pleased that I wasn't given 2 master keys, the center seat was broken and that I was questioning what else might be wrong with the vehicle. They told me they would call be back. 2 hours later they finally did and told me "it is really tricky to take the middle seat out" and that it is certified so I could bring it back for them to look at or I could take it to any Toyota dealer to have it looked at. So I took it back to Robinson Toyota and again they were great to work with as I explained to them the problems; they made a second master key and after 3 hours were able to remove the center 8th seat and its broken latch. I expressed my concerns at this point with the vehicle and that it was supposed to be certified, which they agreed with and again started that these would prevent them from certifying this van. They could not start the repair on the center seat because ToyotaCare is not open during the weekend and they would get the parts and approval to repair this on Monday. Again I drove the van home and I decided to start looking at more of the 160+ item check list that is used to certify a Toyota vehicle. It was no longer raining and I found more dings in the doors of the van, multiple chips in the windshield and under the batter cover the cables and terminals were rusted and had significant corrosion (another 3 check list items that had been violated). So I decided to call another Toyota dealership out of state to make sure that I wasn't paranoid or crazy with the issues I was having. After talking with them they told me they would not certify the van or they would have had to repair those items before sending in the paper work to Toyota for approval and they would not trust that the other items on the check list had been actually preformed if these simple ones had been ignored. (1/6/2020) I decided I was done with dealing with this problem. I called my bank and put a stop on the check for the Van. I then called Chuck Hutton again and asked to speak to the sales manager, went straight to voice mail. Called back and told them what was going on and I was transferred to their customer relations person. I told her everything that we had gone through and all of the problems with the van and how these were all thing that per the required check list for a certified vehicle they had been dishonest with. I told her I had put a stop pay on the check and that I simply wanted to return the Van and received a complete refund to my credit card for the remainder plus what I had already paid for the new keys. She need to call me back and 15 minutes later she did and we took the van back and got all of our money back. This would have not happened if they didn't know they were in the wrong. I have attached the check list that is used for a certified vehicle, which is the one that was used for this Van. I would not buy this van or any car from Chuck Hutton. More
