When I tell you that after generations of being a RAM family, I was ready to walk away from the RAM brand because of a number of significant issues with my 2021 1500 RAM Limited EcoDiesel, that is not an family, I was ready to walk away from the RAM brand because of a number of significant issues with my 2021 1500 RAM Limited EcoDiesel, that is not an understatement. I live in Rockwall and started to have issues with my truck (still under warranty). I took it to the local dealer and issues kept repeating. After the 4th time in 2 months I was promised it was fixed. However, lo and behold on a Friday night the truck started to act up again. I was supposed to drive to Houston the following week and was desperate for a fix or a loaner while it got fixed. Saturday morning I called around to 12 RAM dealerships and each one told me “we are at least a week out, don’t have a mainline mechanic on the weekends and don’t have a way to get you into a rental or loaner until possibly Monday but more likely it will be over a week to find one.” Beyond frustrated I called DodgeCity in McKinney and spoke with Lilly (who in my family is referred to as “the angel sent from above”), I explained the entire situation and her first response was “I am so sorry this is happening to you.” Her second response was “we really don’t have a mainline mechanic this weekend, but let me call you back in 20 min.” Within 10 min Lilly called me back and had worked nothing but a miracle for me. She had someone who could look at the truck, had somehow found a loaner and personally assured me that Larry (the mechanic) was not only the best but would figure what was going on. Lilly kept me up to date daily with the progress, I was able to go on my work trip and by the time I got back, Larry had not only figured out the issue but gone further to correct what another dealership did incorrectly. He then took the time to write detailed notes and relay it to Lilly to pass along. Growing up, not only did I hear about the quality of RAM, but the customer service. Since buying this truck I haven’t had the same experience that my grandfather did with the brand and I was ready to give up (despite loving the truck). What Lilly and Larry and the entire Dodge City team did to correct a very bad situation they didn’t cause got a loyal customer that has told multiple people since the drive to McKinney is worth it. Since the fix Larry did, the truck has been driving perfectly with zero issues and I am about to schedule my next oil change with them-because again, the drive is worth the quality and customer service. More
