My Experience Purchased a new Tahoe, it was delivered with a used tire, it then had an unrepairable flat, Chevy South made me pay for their mistake. Even their serv Purchased a new Tahoe, it was delivered with a used tire, it then had an unrepairable flat, Chevy South made me pay for their mistake. Even their service person said that they deliver new vehicles with tires plugged from damage. I don't about you but I usually don't buy new cars or tires for that matter with plugged used tires. In addition I purchased lifetime synthetic oil changes, the last 2 times I had my oil changed by service they did not tighten the oil filter good enough and I had an oil leak all over my garage floor. It was not until I crawled under the vehicle myself and tightened it myself. How do you screw up a simple oil change?? More
Chevy Sonic Transmission Service I purchased my 2013 Chevy Sonic from a different dealership in Anchorage and ended up needing my vehicle serviced due to a 'hiccup' or 'burp' in my tr I purchased my 2013 Chevy Sonic from a different dealership in Anchorage and ended up needing my vehicle serviced due to a 'hiccup' or 'burp' in my transmission whenever it shifted from 2nd gear to 3rd gear (this only happened right after i would start my car and accelerate through the gear cycle the first time). I called the dealership i brought my Sonic from about the issue in the tranny and they told me that the problem was common in that make/model and was nothing to worry about, but that definitely didnt solve my problem or give me any sort of piece of mind. So I called Chevrolet Of South Anchorage about the issue and Joshua in the service department helped me set an appointment and walked me through honestly every request that i had! Even let me have a test drive in my own Sonic with one of the head mechanics to show the mechanic the exact issue in the tranny i was trying to address. Definitely left Chevrolet Of South Anchorage with the service/repairs/piece of mind i was seeking. Awesome service, great team and i even had my car back the same day! Go Josh and go Anchorage Chevy!! More

Quite possibly the worst service I've ever encountered The brakes in my 2005 Chevrolet K1500 went out and I called Tony's Chevrolet and asked if they could get me in. It was the Monday before thanksgiving The brakes in my 2005 Chevrolet K1500 went out and I called Tony's Chevrolet and asked if they could get me in. It was the Monday before thanksgiving and they said, "yes but I might not be seen until Friday." Not the best news, but it was a holiday week and I had no brakes so I didn't have much choice. On Wednesday I was told I needed $4000.00 worth of work in addition the the failed brakes that I came in for. The brake job would be $800.00. I was in shock, but I need my truck, I love my truck so let's do it. Fortunately, according to the service advisor I could get away with doing 1/2 the work. He said, "you need to do this sooner than later". Okay, he's the expert. I agreed to a front differential seal, an oil pan seal and the steel brake line replacement that I actually came in for. He told me with the holiday they'd have it finished on Friday. Great. Friday came and went and I didn't hear anything, so at the end of the day I called and was told it would be the following week before my vehicle was fixed because the mechanic was on holiday. Okay, that's reasonable. I asked if they had a vehicle I could borrow, I was told "maybe, they are all loaned out now so maybe not." I insisted and they set me up with a loaner car, nice. I was told to bring it back with a full tank, I drove away with the tank at 3/4 full. Oh well, not the worst thing. I was told my truck would be ready Monday or Tuesday, wonderful, I felt good. The next week arrives and nothing. Not a phone call, not a text, not an email, not a message, not an update of any kind, so I decide to wait and see if anyone will ever call me. Nothing. On Friday I attempt to contact my service advisor, multiple phone calls go unanswered. On Saturday I call at 5 p.m. and he tells me, "I need to get an update from the mechanic, I'll call you back." At 8 p.m. I call back and am told by the receptionist he's gone home for the night. Lame. On Monday, after two weeks with no updates other than those I had called for, I decide to contact the service manager, very nice man who is apologetic and assures me he will update me, he does. The work is taking longer than expected, they "had to order a part", it will be a few more days. Ugh. It is now Saturday evening, 5:48 p.m. and the service advisor calls me, "hey your truck is finally ready, you can pick it up today until 8 p.m. or tomorrow 11 - 7. I'm going home for the evening so I'll have it brought around front and you can pick it up with the receptionist. Just drop the loaner car off with her and I'll deal with it on Monday." I arrive at the dealership shortly after 6 p.m. and there is my truck, dirty, frozen solid and covered in two inches of snow. No fresh tracks, just bare ground beneath. For the record it snowed early today, so my truck had been in that same spot for at least 6 - 8 hours minimum. I think it is quite clear the service advisor purposely delayed contacting me until the end of his shift and prior to his day off so he wouldn't have to deal with me. Sad. I got away paying just under $2600.00, two days shy of three weeks total service time and guess what, not even a "thank you". It's quite obvious I don't matter to these folks. "Just another customer." Pathetic. I would like to add, the loaner car was super nice to have, a rental would have been grossly expensive. Of this experience, that was the nicest part. I did have to beg for it, but at least I got it. I will continue to drive Chevys for the rest of my days, I love them, always have. I will not however, ever be going back to Tony's Chevrolet. Oh and one more thing, the reason I am writing this review on this website is because, as I was leaving, posted on the entrance/exit door of the dealership was a sign asking for reviews to be posted here.
