We purchased a used 2007 Jeep Wrangler from this dealership in June 2012. In June of this year we took it to Charlie's for our State Inspection sticker, along with concerns regarding the emergency dealership in June 2012. In June of this year we took it to Charlie's for our State Inspection sticker, along with concerns regarding the emergency brake and something commonly known as the "death wobble". They came back and told us we had to have the rear brakes redone, the front brake lines replaced, and the front steering assembly replaced in order to pass inspection, at a cost of almost $2000. We had the work done and within a week all the dash lights came on for ABS, anti-skid and ESP-BAS. When we called in regarding the matter they told us they were busy and could not get us in for almost two weeks, but that it was safe to drive. That weekend our vehicle was stuck on the side of the road with the brakes locked up. When we called the dealership to see if they could tow it in that said they could, but if they determined it had nothing to do with their repairs we would have to pay the tow charges. We opted to have the vehicle towed to them by other means. Three days later they called and said the caliper they had not replaced was part of the problem. They stated the repair was going to be $1200 and asked us to split the charges. Just wanting our vehicle back we agreed to pay $500. When the vehicle was delivered the invoice charges were only $650, but we still had to pay the $500. After all this we decided to trade in the Jeep for a new vehicle, utilizing a different dealer. We were shocked and angered when the other dealer asked us if we were informed the Jeep had been involved in an accident prior to our purchase and showed us the CARFAX report. We had specifically asked our salesman, at Charlie's, if the vehicle had been involved in any accidents at the time of purchase and were assured it had not. He told us that they were such a large dealership that any vehicles that had been involved in an accident were not sold on their used car lot, and were sent to their wholesale lot. We will never use this dealer again and would not recommended it to anyone. More
Ya first off I seen a truck on autotrader.com that was at charlies it was a 2006 Dodge ram 1500 quad cab with 29,000 miles asking 18,995. Which was a great deal I looked around for a while and I figured I would go in try the truck out and if I liked I would trade my 2010 Toyota Camry in. Well long story short I traded my 2010 Toyota Camry in for the truck. I noticed the truck needed tires and a scratch touched up they said they would take care of that and put new tires on the truck for me. Well they put the price of the tires in my loan and I called and told them and they said they never were goin to put tires on the truck. I will never deal with this dealership again ever. I suggest you go to Southern Maine motors for your new and used vechicles if you want to be treated right. More
Drove in, not really expecting to buy a new car. Saw one we really liked. Asked to see Andy since he had sold us a car before, he was very friendly he even remembered our names. It did not take him long to get the new car from the lot, put plates on it, showed us how the convertable top worked and explained other important things about the car "very helpful" got a great trade in price on my car, fast approval on loan, fast on getting the car ready very clean... Andy also took time to talk to us while we were waiting on the car and paperwork. When we got home my husband called Andy for touch up paint he was happy to help. WE received the paint within a couple of days. IMPRESSIVE ***** EXCELLENT SERVICE ***** Charlie must be proud of his workers in all departments They are "on the ball is how I would say it" From Madawaska to Bangor I only hear good stuff about Charlies Moter Mall. People love the pricing and service...KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!You'll see us again.. Thank You More
"Baggler" went out of his way for us. Everyone we know ...we're sending there.I even posted on Facebook how happy we are,& how great an experience we had.We're sending everyone there.We have family that goes there already.,Roger went above & beyond in his position. He is VERY friendly,helpful,& spectacular @ his job!We purchased a used vehichle there last Saturday. The experience was outstanding!!We got a phone call today Thurs....surprised & extremely Grateful! Roger had us come back in Thursday,to sign new papers !! He changed our loan origin.Lower interest,lower payments,etc. He helped us on his own,no other place in the past ever did that;...NOT even close!we are VERY happy! We can now look differently @ the new/used vehicle business. Other places/employees give those a bad name.Words' can't describe how much of a value Roger is to your business!I'm also going to write Roger & Baggler a Thank You note. The staff here was beyond amazing. I started my car search looking for a newer used vehicle thinking I could get a good deal. However, I discovered buying new may end up being a cheaper option. I had settled on a great car for a great price at another dealership and my parents convinced me just to browse at Charlie's and perhaps get a quote from them to help lower the cost of the car I was interested in. My family has done business with Charlie's several times and I figured it couldn't hurt. They had a much greater selection of vehicles than I anticipated and the salesmen (Andy) were nothing but friendly, down to earth and honest (even informing me of some sales gimmick lies the other dealership tried to sell me on). When it came down to the numbers, they ended up coming in under my bottom line right off the bat and at no point were ever pushy, demanding or over bearing. I said I'd be back the next day, they got the car ready before I even left and never once called to ask where I was or if I was coming in, unlike the other dealerships which are still calling me to come back weeks after the fact that I told them I already purchased! Every representative was helpful and thorough in explaining the process and paperwork with me, which was important as this was my first car I've purchased. Andy was amazing and patiently went over EVERY option my vehicle had, demonstrating each and ensuring I knew how my car operated and had to offer before I took it anywhere. When all was said an done, the entire staff came out on the steps to congratulate me and see me off. A few days later I received a call from Charlie's and to my pleasant surprise, the service staff was calling just to check to see if the car was running okay and if I had any questions, issues or concerns. As I reside out of state this was comforting and reassuring that I made the right decision to buy with this dealer, I definitely feel as though I have become part of a wonderful family. More
I liked the fact that Andrew handled everything. In other words, none of the usual horror stories you hear about buying a car! All of my new cars in the last 20 years have been Nissan products because of the Family Feeling at Charlie's. Therefore, there was never any haggling about pricing, but on occasion dealers tried to talk me into dealer options or programs when I wanted the Nissan installed option and/or program. He did none of that, and I thank Charlie for his Great Employees. Thank you again for helping me with my Nissan purchase! Blessings. More
I came to Charlies at the recommendation of a close friend who has purchased several vehicles from their family of dealerships. I explained to him what I was looking for and after his asking a few questions, he recommended the Nissan Rogue. It being very cold outside, Russ had me wait inside while he went and brought the vehicle up to the door for me. He was very knowledgable about the vehicle and its features. After a test drive I was certain that this was the vehicle for me. Russ gathered the necessary information from me and within just 5 minutes was back and introduced me to his Manager Sean. Sean went over the figures with me and was also very polite and professional. After a bit of negotiating, we came to an agreement on the price and Sean prepared all of the necessary paperwork for the sale. From the time I arrived at the dealership until I drove off in my new Rogue, only 1 hour & 20 minutes had passed. While I was waiting for the paperwork to be processed Russ took the time to show me the Service Department and the Car Wash which I was pleased to learn was free for my use at anytime as a Charlies customer. Upon completion of the paperwork, Russ sat with me and went over all of the features of my new car prior to me leaving. Buying a new car is not something anyone looks forward to doing. Russ & Sean made my first experience at Charlies a memorable one. I look forward to telling others about their great attitude towards their customers and their professional manner of dealing with me. I would recommend the Charlies Family of Dealerships completely! More
I had purchased a vehicle (Saturn Vue 2006), in January of 2008, which was an outstanding experience. I have been very pleased with the vehicle, however, I am "upside down" due to depretiation and the pay of 2008, which was an outstanding experience. I have been very pleased with the vehicle, however, I am "upside down" due to depretiation and the payments are way too high. I came to Charlie's as this is where I purchased the vehicle and the dealership would stand behind me and "their" vehicle. I was SADLY mistaken!! First, that Charlie's will NOT stand behind their vehicle. Second, is that I felt as though I was treated as a "farm animal" sitting in a "pen." Andy dropped me off after a test drive in a Kia Galant, 2010 as this vehicle had the highest rebate. Jason came in took down all the financial information and I waited and waited. Jason did return sharing that either he or Andy would call when they have determined the financing. I left without seeing or talking with Andy as he made no effort to thank a customer for their interest in Charlie's. No handshake from either Andy or Jason, which I found to be rude and very poor customer service. Third, it was finally Monday afternoon with no phone calls from Jason or Andy. I called and asked Andy if he knew anything and his response: "Jason or I will call you as soon as we know." I called again later in the day and Andy had already left for the day, however, I did talk with Jason. I was not approved, which is okay, even though I had hoped that someone would at least try to help me with my present situation. I asked Jason why he or Andy had not called me and there was no reason. Fourth, at that time I also asked Jason to take care of discontinuing the extended warranty I had on my Saturn. I was assured that it would be mailed immediately. It has now been TWO weeks and I have received nothing. I have been involved in the auto business as my family owned a Porsche/Audi dealership, and another racing parts business, plus car racing, so I do know about cars and did ample research prior to going to Charlie's. The price of the Galant was almost $2,000 higher than other dealerships. The primary reason I am writing this is that I have never been treated with such disrespect as a person and rude customer service. More
The guys I worked with at Charlie's worked very hard to make a deal that worked for me. I was in a newer vehicle and wanted to trade into an older one for reasons I won't get into here. The numbers were hard to work but they met my demands gracefully and really bent over backwards to make it work for me when other dealers were trying to really screw me over due to my equity situation. On top of it all they drove the car about 100 miles to deliver it to me after my credit union approved. More
