Patrick Swan, Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us. In researching each of them we discovered the following: There were no known safety defects that were not disclosed to you. This is a 2015 Jeep with 100K+ miles. It was examined and passed inspection. While we understand you came from Florida to purchase this unit, we were told you then took a trip to the Pacific Northwest area to enjoy it. In a conversation with Sal, your representative, you indicated that the headlamp was out but that when you wiggled it, the light returned, leading you to believe it was a connection issue. If you have since had to replace it please forward a receipt for that repair so we can assist you. The soft top does not form a waterproof seal and may well have leaked but it would be difficult to blow off if it were properly secured. I’m not familiar with what you are referencing as the “wheel monitor,” but we will be happy to discuss that with you. The spare tires on Wranglers are secured with 3 lug nuts; It would be highly unusual for all 3 to fail simultaneously. Certainly, there would have been advance notice that would have permitted you to inspect and determine what would need to be done. We’re disappointed that you have experienced any issues and were you in Las Vegas; it would be easy to assist you. As you are traveling the country, I encourage you to speak with Sal, and we can direct you to dealers in the area you are in who would be willing to help. A disreputable dealership waits until it gets negative social media reviews and then does damage control. The appropriate response, Don, is not to avoid responsibility. It is to say, We messed up. We are sorry. How can we make this right? Your response instead screams: Not our problem. It sucks to be you! Service techs at Jeep dealers in three states told me they were astounded any reputable dealership would sell a jeep in that condition. But, as we know, Chapman is not reputable. I emailed and phoned Chapman for three months and Chapman stiff armed me -- including your customer relations flunky! ONLY when I post negative reviews to social media do you reply. I asked for a customer satisfaction survey and have been denied. I suspect it is because you only care about making sales, however disreputable you must be, to swindle buyers, as you swindled me, and don't care if your customers are dissatisfied. How much does Chapman spend on marketing itself as a reputable jeep dealer? All smoke. When we get to an actual sale, your customers are nothing to you. I did NOT fly to Vegas to get screwed over in my jeep purchase by Chapman. And yet, Chapman has screwed me over and has take zero responsibility for its shabby sale. Shame on you, Don. And to anyone reading this, Don's reply says what you need to know: Buyer beware because we don't stand by our sales.

Don Am I to drive back cross country for you to fix the issues you should have fixed in the first place? Why did it take 3 months and negative social media reviews for you to reply? I emailed and texted and phoned Chapman repeatedly and got no replies. Jeep dealer service techs in three states told me they would not sell a car in my jeep's condition. Yet, you did. Proudly, apparently, because you deny any deficiencies pre-sale. Magically, when I drove off the Chapman lot, all of these undisclosed safety deficiencies manifested themselves -- along with $7k in value that Chapman reaped in profit. Yeah, right. Your professional response should have been this: We are sorry. We messed. Let me make it right for you. And it shouldn't take 3 months to say. This is what a reputable seller would have done. But, you still have not said it, so... Would YOU find this acceptable if you flew to Florida to buy same jeep from me for your personal use? You would be enraged at how you were played. As am I with Chapman. You put my personal safety at great risk and refuse to own up to it. Shame on you, Don. Readers here beware. You are nothing but a mark to Chapman.

Vehicles are pulled for a variety of reasons, including customer loaners, utilizations for various charitable organizations, purchase consideration, or, in this case, for the owner to use personally. Most often, we will take that off of our website for that period of time to avoid confusion, but that didn’t happen here.
