Overall wonderful experience. On a Saturday morning I accessed the web to get fair market trade-in value for our VW Jetta. I may have also indicated I was thinking about purchasing a Camry. Within a coup accessed the web to get fair market trade-in value for our VW Jetta. I may have also indicated I was thinking about purchasing a Camry. Within a couple hours of my inquiry, Alan Makabi called us to see how he could help in our search process. Since I had a salesperson's name, I decided to go take a look at what was on the lot. I was greeted at the door with a smile and the person called Alan to assist me. My experience from that point on: No sales pressure, a fair trade-in for our Jetta, a fair price for a Camry (without lots of haggling back and forth), straight forward financing and a training session on the features of our new car...all within 3 hours. What really put a smile on my face? When finished with the financing, we walked over to Alan's desk. Along with the keys to our new car was a package of Thanks-A-Lot cookies! Another great example of the "personal touch" experienced throughout the afternoon. A big thanks goes to all the members of the Cedar Rapids Toyota team! P.S. It's nice to be driving a Camry again. I bought a car after being told by the salesman that it was a local trade and AWD. I require 4WD or AWD because of where I live. After all the contracts were signed I discovered that neither of the claims was a local trade and AWD. I require 4WD or AWD because of where I live. After a year of trying to come to a solution (none of which were remotely close to a good deal)I was told to go ahead and file a complaint because they were done dealing with me. At this point I would be content if they would just purchase the vehicle back for what is owed on it. More
Over the last 23 years I have purchased 7 cars from Cedar RapidsToyota, the last 3 with Alan Makabi as the sales person. I have tried on several occasions to work with the local Honda dealer but always came back to Toyota because the deal and the people are so much better. I have had all the cars serviced at Toyota, just scheduled maintenance, as I have never had any major problems with a Toyota. Overall, just a really good dealership. More
Alan was quick to answer my inquiries about his invoice pricing. When he sent me the "line-by-line cost to the dealer" to me, the list of fees to be paid by me included "dealer holdback" and "wholesale fi pricing. When he sent me the "line-by-line cost to the dealer" to me, the list of fees to be paid by me included "dealer holdback" and "wholesale financial reserve" both of which are paid to the dealer by Toyota, so basically, he was looking to double up on those profits.
