I went to this dealership to look for a used car and they have a big sign that says "BUY USED CARS HERE! Why go anywhere else?". They have a bunch of cars listed on their website which looked like ones I m have a big sign that says "BUY USED CARS HERE! Why go anywhere else?". They have a bunch of cars listed on their website which looked like ones I might want, so I stopped by. Scott, the sales associate I worked with was friendly enough, though a little green (which is fine, though he could have used it as a selling point but didn't). I told him what I was looking for, and we went for a test drive in one of their used Kias. The car was 2 years old, had 65000 miles, and had a few cosmetic problems (OK, that's fine; it's used but everything has its price). When we started talking dollars the high pressure sales started and the first price they put in front of me was $15k (Kelly Blue Book was $10k, which I looked up on my smartphone while they were pulling all of this). Most insulting and confusing to me was the price was several thousand outside the range I said I was looking for, like what I could afford didn't matter to them. It was obvious to me they were pressuring Scott to throw "stupid high" numbers at me like I was an idiot and didn't have any idea what the car was worth. They offered me less than half of what I would get at a different, better dealership for my trade in, which was also insulting. Despite having many used Toyotas and Hondas which were in my price range on their website, and I said I would be interested in, they told me they didn't have any. That was probably the most frustrating, since I felt like I was deceived in going there in the first place. But the thing that made me the most angry, was the phone call I got at 9:00PM that night from Roberto (the sales manager?). I told him I was busy but kept talking to me anyway to "see how I was doing". When I told him he was calling too late, he said that "work there never stops" and kept going. Guess what, Roberto? Work stops for most people at reasonable hours. That's way too late to call someone at home about sales and you need to BACK OFF when they say they're busy. The end experience was ridiculous, insulting, and smelled of desperation. They assumed I had done no research on what they were selling (and I didn't let on that I had just to see how honest they were). Completely amateur hour. More
