Thank you for your feedback and we apologize that you feel your experience with Carlisle Cadillac Buick GMC was not up to your expectations. We did have several people interested in purchasing this vehicle and we were accommodating everyone that showed an interest in the vehicle before the time of sale. We do not take deposits on vehicles, and it is on a first-come basis. You were also given the first right of refusal on whether to purchase the vehicle. However, until the sale is final, the vehicle still belongs to the dealership, and we will allow other individuals to look over and test drive a vehicle. Up to this point, you were still attempting to negotiate the price of the vehicle down to a lower amount than what you had previously agreed upon. Until a sales agreement is reached with management, we will welcome anyone willing to pay the asking price. We apologize if you feel our staff lacked the professionalism that we expect from all our salespeople. We have addressed this internally to prevent this from happening again. I think your response says it all. To clear up some confusion: I was not trying to negotiate the price. I did that via email for a week. There was an honest misunderstanding on my part- I asked the salesman(Mark) to honor the price in the email, which I thought was 9k. It turns out it was 9,800.00, which he showed me after he pulled up the email, and I had apologized and said I was fine paying the 9,800. Your new list price was 9837.00, down from almost 12k I believe. This took all of 5 minutes to clear up. A couple of minutes after that you came over to shake my hand and congratulate me on the purchase. The entire time I was watching Jason pleading his case to you to allow the test drive. I saw him run out with the key. I saw the other couple walk toward the vehicle. My wife and I went outside because I told her I’m sure they are test driving the vehicle. They were! You were lining up another buyer without even giving us a chance to buy the vehicle. I assume this was in case our deal fell through, which it did, because we told Jason we were walking if they test drove the vehicle and he did not care. We wanted to buy the vehicle and were willing to pay the agreed upon price in the email, that was not trying to talk the price down. If the other couple would not have been there I’m sure you would have gotten a glowing review from us. I’m positive we would have the vehicle. We got to see what a lot of your customers don’t get to see. You’re absolutely right that it’s your vehicle, and that it’s absolutely my right to buy a car somewhere else. It’s also my right to inform my friends and family that your dealership is no longer the family-friendly customer oriented car dealer it once was in my opinion. Unfortunately to me, you now appear to be following a fast-paced “we don’t care about your experience or repeat business” model. There was a time it was fun and exciting to buy a car; I long for the return of those days.

However, we are concerned that you would be just now bringing to our attention a deal that was completed over two and a half years ago. We have reviewed the contracts and finance paperwork and have verified that everything is consistent and matches the price you agreed to pay. At the time of sale, you signed all the documentation acknowledging all the costs involved. From the initial proposal to the actual finance contract, the price of the vehicle has never changed. The amount agreed upon has your signature indicating that you were ok with the sale price and the amount financed.
