They made our experience very good and we would recommend them to everyone that needs a new car or truck and wants to go home knowing they got a great deal and were treated fairly but all. More

Great car buying experience! My wife and I came to look at a particular pre-owned car and had an appointment with Ruben. While he was finishing up with another customer, another C My wife and I came to look at a particular pre-owned car and had an appointment with Ruben. While he was finishing up with another customer, another Capitol employee asked us if we needed anything and brought us water. He (and others I noticed) were very friendly and customer service oriented. Ruben showed us the features of the car and answered our questions. After we test drove it, we came to an agreement in a very short period of time with the assistance of Mike the Sales Manager. While waiting for the Finance Manager (Fran), Ruben visited with us and made us feel like family. Fran explained everything to our satisfaction and it ended up being a very efficient and pleasant car buying experience. This is the way car buying should be! More

Left feeling sick to my stomach I came in to the lot on appointment to test drive a few vehicles. Had pre-approval letter from my bank in my pocket to cover the cost of the vehicles I came in to the lot on appointment to test drive a few vehicles. Had pre-approval letter from my bank in my pocket to cover the cost of the vehicles I test drove. I was immediately handed off by the gentleman I had the appointment with to another salesman. The gentleman I was handed off to took me to the older used vehicles and argued with me when I told him I wanted a newer vehicle. Once I thought he understood that I wasn't there to purchase an older vehicle, and I thought he was going to take me to the newer ones, he started walking me further to the back of the building where even older used vehicles were stored. He was visibly upset with me when I asked him if he was taking me to see more older vehicles. It appeared that he couldn't understand why I wasn't interested in them, and debated with me over the benefits... Once I finally convinced him to let me see the vehicles I was there to see, he spent most of his time checking his phone. He couldn't answer any of the questions I had about the vehicle options - he literally had no information about the vehicles other than the obvious ones that both of use could pick up by simply looking at the outside of them. I essentially felt like he was blowing smoke and making up facts. The car rides were near silent (no conversation), and I even had to keep checking back with him as to which turns to take on our test drive because he was so busy on his phone. Not once was I ever asked by anyone there how I planned to pay for my vehicle, or what sort of down-payment I might have... not a single financial question. They never asked any questions re: my non-financial purchase plans either (e.g., timeline). At the end of my final test-drive, I shook his hand and left - he looked confused as I walked away. I never received any follow-up. I then went on to purchase a brand-new and fully loaded four wheel drive performance vehicle elsewhere the very next day. I absolutely will never consider any of the Capitol Auto car dealerships in Salem, Oregon for my vehicle purchases in the future after this experience. They made it very clear that they weren't interested in my business, now or ever. I also may never go to a Chevrolet dealership again after this. The experience was disenchanting, for sure. More

This however this was completely different. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by Kelly Styles who simply asked what I was looking for and what price range I wanted to work within. When I gave him the amount he worked diligently to stay within my budget and had a real relaxed manner about him. Unlike many who I've dealt with before at other dealers who push the "I'm your buddy", (but we can all tell their not) scenario in your face. It was genuinely a nice change of pace. More
