Ms. Young Anderson, Your vehicle had an exhaust leak which caused the code P420. Simply reading a code does not diagnose a vehicle, the exhaust manifold was required to be removed to complete the diagnoses. Your converter was not defective, and replacing it would not have resolved the issue, it was the broken weld on the converter that caused the code, but the pipe and the converter are 1 piece. Manifolds and converter leaks are a common problems and requires the engine to cool down for further inspection during the diagnostic phase. Your unusual GM extended warranty was confirmed to avoid any expense to you. Your vehicle required 2 days for service, 1 day to diagnose and order parts and 1 day to complete the repairs. You needed your vehicle back before we completed the diagnoses which is why you had to being your vehicle back.

Thank you for your feedback but I would have appreciated a call back from Lee Shirley to speak to him personally. I reached out to him ,as instructed to do on this message board on yesterday, with no return call. Because I did not receive a return phone call I will leave my continuing concerns on this message board as it seems this is the only way I will get a response. You did not address the almost $600 dollar charge I would have been charged to diagnosis the problem if I did not have a warranty nor the poor customer service I received. This was not the first time I had used my GMC warranty at your service department I have had it since 2014. It was not deemed "unusual" on those occasions. Check your records and you will see this is the case. I was never asked how I got the warranty in the past. Which as I stated before is not relevant, the letter should speak for itself. The warranty is attached to my VIN number so having to resubmit the letter to you was not necessary. I understand the work was a two day job. Dan explained it to me. My complaint is it took three days not two for my job to be completed because the first day (for which I had an appointment and my truck being dropped off the night before), it was not looked at until the end of the day which did not leave enough time for it to be diagnosed and parts ordered. This resulted with me being without a car for an extra day. I could have made an appointment on a different day when I could have had my truck looked at in a timelier manner. As I do not think this is the correct forum to go back and forth about my concerns. I would appreciate a return call so I can speak to someone personally about my concerns.
