I made an appointment with the The engine in my 2011 Sonata had made a few ominous sounds and cut out on me a few mo the ago while on the interstate. I made an appointment with the dealer, between having some recalls I knew needed addressing, being concerned the issue was the transmission in my closed-system model, and being aware that my model car has a history of some challenges. Turns out I was in the process on one of those specific challenges. To my surprise, despite having 200k miles on the odometer, my engine failure was deemed part of the 2016 recall and my engine was replaced at no charge to me. Capital Subaru kept me informed throughout the process, ensured I had a (Hyundai funded) rental car, and stayed in great communication with me via text. I’m pretty pleased with my experience. They did recommend some add on work that was out of my budget, even considering what they had expected to spend on transmission work, but my brother is good with cars and has taken care of that for me. More
