I purchased a 2021 RAV4 from Capital Ford. It had everything I was looking for. The windshield had been replaced which I did inform the sales person. There was not any record of the replacemen It had everything I was looking for. The windshield had been replaced which I did inform the sales person. There was not any record of the replacement on the car fax. The sales person was not informed that the dealership had replaced the windshield. With after market windshields it can affect the camera and sensors. Everything seemed to be working at that time. Once the deal was signed the salesperson came out with only one key fob. I requested another key fob because usually 2 are provided. He said he looked everywhere and was not able to locate the 2nd key. I ask if they were able to provide the second key fob. He said in the beginning that they had a guy that made their keys for them. In the end they were unable or unwilling to provide the 2nd key fob which are expensive to have made. They did not also include the wheel lock for the tires which is an issue that was found 14 days later when I got a screw in one of the tires. I contacted the salesperson to make them aware. He said that is a problem but his manager was unable or unwilling to offer a solution. So 14 days after the purchase I have notified the salesperson of a rain sensor problem due to the windshield replacement, which will cost over 2000 dollars to fix. The key fob which can cost anywhere between 100-200 dollars to replace. The missing wheel lock that will have to be replaced unsure of cost at this time. I have always been concerned about used cars and dealerships trying to pull a scam on the buyer. This is the first used car I have purchased in over 19 years and now I remember why I purchased new if possible. I did all the research that I could on price, car fax and used a reputable dealer or so I thought. I have not been impressed at all and would never purchase another vehicle new or used for them. Beware of purchasing any vehicles from Capital Ford in Raleigh NC. I do understand it is a used car but some of the issues could have been resolved by the dealership as a good faith effort. More
They literally told me that they will not look at my 2020 Ford Ranger because I did not purchase it there, although I had been buying Fords from Capital since 1993. Mind you, I did not buy my Ranger from the Ford Ranger because I did not purchase it there, although I had been buying Fords from Capital since 1993. Mind you, I did not buy my Ranger from them because they had no Rangers in inventory at the time. I recommend Leith Ford in Wendell. Much easier to do business with. More
Worst car dealership in North Carolina. Update: Dec 19 My wife reached out to this dealership Friday. GM told her he would be back in touch with her today. No surprise at all. No call. Update: Dec 19 My wife reached out to this dealership Friday. GM told her he would be back in touch with her today. No surprise at all. No call. No text. No email. No response. I wouldn’t buy a vehicle from this dealership if they offered $10K or. Horrible. Update: I reached out to this dealership again and started a deal online, which included getting a quote for my trade-in, and a rebate they had advertised that you could add to the deal. Salesperson reached out to me, after I told him which ones I was looking at (and the price point) and he came back saying, "The vehicles are available but the only challenge we would have is the price. There is a markup on the Bronco Sport and there's also no rebates available at this time." I sent him the screenshot from the website where I was in the middle of the online deal, and he said, "Let me share this with my manager." This is undeniably false advertisement - complete "bait and switch" (FRAUD) and should not be allowed. How is this fair to buyers?? It's not. More dealerships have started doing this since supply and demand became an issue after COVID began. And it is taking advantage of consumers - plain and simple. They put all this information on their website in an attempt to make the buying process easier ("do it all online and have your vehicle delivered") only to NOT HONOR the prices they provide you in the online application process. A waste of time and it is completely unethical and dishonest. It's a way to lure customers in...plain and simple. When did products (vehicles) become so much more important than customers/potential customers (human beings)? I know...supply and demand. Blah. Blah. Blah. Customer service is still KING. I reached out about a Bronco Sport this morning, and had every intention of going this evening or tomorrow evening to test drive it. Was even willing to put down a deposit on it. However, after finding out that this dealership would keep my deposit, if I decided I didn't want it, I think I'll take my business elsewhere. The best part is the last response I got from the person who has been emailing me, "Its an option that makes sense for motivated buyers who have already driven a demo and know what to expect. If this doesn't work for you I understand." Great customer experience, Capital Ford. No wonder I've never purchased a Ford. More
