Mr. Schriver, Under normal circumstances I would have no problem working with you on getting this repair taken care, however, your specific vehicle purchase has several contributing factors not mentioned in your review. I was made aware of the issue with your vehicle and after doing my due diligence I discovered the vehicle purchased was 1998 model and while it did have low miles for that model year, the vehicle is almost twenty-five years old. In addition, we discounted the vehicle six thousand dollars to make it work for you and to accommodate your budget. Effectively eliminating any and all profit margin in that vehicle and ultimately taking a loss to earn your business. The vehicle was then driven almost six hundred and fifty miles up the eastern seaboard to your residence. To travel that distance takes at least nine to ten hours during which the vehicle did not overheat nor breakdown. We have no knowledge of how you made the trip or to what degree you pushed the twenty-five-year-old engine. Taking this into account along with the lengths the dealership went to earn your business, I cannot approve an additional cost and incur an even more significant loss on the sale of your vehicle. I know this is not the outcome you were hoping for when calling the dealership or providing your review, however, I hope this serves to shed some light on why we have chosen to handle this issue in such a manner. Kind Regards, jhorner@capitalchevroletnc.com

To anyone that reads these reviews: This person's "due diligence" wasn't too thorough. We paid $30,700 on a truck that was listed for $32,999. A difference of $2,299, a far cry from $6,000 that he claims. That doesn't even include any taxes or bogus "accessories" that the sales team tried to lie and add on to the truck.(including trying to add $500 for nitrogen in 17 year old tires: besides the fact that is a $50 service). I'm still astounded by the brazen lie. Any of that is really irrelevant anyways. This response above displays exactly one of the negative things we experienced at Capital Chevrolet, and typically what you would find only at shady dealerships: Literally everyone at that dealership is on autopilot with the phrase: "We aren't making money on this" and "We are losing money on this deal". Even before a deal was made. It's very insulting and bad business. Back to the truck... I'm not too sure how this person responding can state factually that: "....... during which the vehicle did not overheat nor breakdown". Nobody at this dealership never actually confirmed that with me and he even states right there that "We have no knowledge of how you made the trip......". Honestly the drive home is made exclusively on the highway--- the least taxing on any vehicle engine regardless of age or mileage. Regardless, as I stated before, this truck was represented as being inspected and in perfect condition with 43,000 miles. It was not represented as being sold "for display only" as this man might suggest by stating that the truck was "pushed" by simply adding 600 miles to the odometer. I've sold many used vehicles in my professional career. There are times that things have happened to a vehicle after a customer has bought it. Whether we incurred a monetary loss or not, as a reputable business we own it and take care of the problem. That is part of the business and risk of selling used cars. I am astounded that a large Chevrolet dealership can't say the same. So again, to those who read these reviews: BUYER BEWARE. Capital Chevrolet of Wake Forest, NC clearly doesn't stand behind what they sell. Everyone here can see they just use the "we make no money" phrase and just blame the customer for "pushing the truck" by simply driving it home. Unfortunately I thought this was a reputable place, but this experience shows that you should probably shop elsewhere.
